How to get Blink Doorbell to Ring your Amazon Alexa Echodot as a Chime

you need to disable Amazon Kids on your Echodot or Alexa device to allow the Blink skill to function which will allow the doorbell notifications. Good Luck!

Thanks for this video. Saved me minutes of troubleshooting. For anyone else who has a similar issue, remember to disable “Do not Disturb” 😂. That was my mistake.

Thanks for this. Maybe I can understand why Amazon won’t enable connectivity with the Dot if Kids is enabled, but why would they not explain this as a note in the settings?? I would never have figured it out if not for this video. Super helpful!

Had the same problem as well as wiring to my house standard chime. I was able to get my minicams to chime 😊

U ever figure this out? I have tons of amazon devices. They announce but I want a friggin chime! 😡 At least one! Don't want to have to get a blink cam to use as the chime. 😡

We ended up exchanging this model for the slimmer version ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx0jZ_lGlDVJhDnmagEU8gn47cmfPNlLQU because it was too wide for the only door trim area that made sense to mount it on. However, we should have just noted the dimensions prior to purchasing. Otherwise, we love the doorbell. It works perfectly, and the video is very clear, even at night.

I did all that. Even reconnected through skill and nothing. Finally took the batteries out of my blink doorbell for 30 seconds to reset. Then it finally worked.

Here's how to get it to work: open up the elexa app(hopefully you already synced the cam) then click on cameras. It'll open the live view. Then clicked settings. Notifications. Enable ring Notifications
