I moved houses and was forced to give up my 60+ plants. After almost 2 years, I am back. I have started with 3 plants and excited to start watching plant UA-cam again
Anyone else thinking of your original syngonium butterfly that started as a cutting and is still thriving? We still love you queen
That Thai pink is absolutely gorgeous. My favorites are my Hoyas. Especially the ones that sun stress easily.
Ohh yes. I’ve been trying to find some ways to bring some Hoya upstairs & have them thrive! My house is really poorly lit so it has been a struggle
Same here. I am addicted to Hoya!
I love how you have your cebu blue on that stool (chair?)
Just reading your comment and not knowing the plant, I thought that there is a pink thai constellation for a second… LMAO
Cebu blue pothos is such a mood, I love it.
My mom has had a money tree for as long as I can remember, and if I could I would show y’all how goofy it is 😂 this thing is just a long stick with 3 leaves at the very top and she has no clue why, I’m trying to help her with getting it to be fuller, but I loved this video! I love watching people talk about their favorite plants ❤️
After almost 5yrs of collecting, I finally have my first bloom on a Hoya...so I'm loving Hoya Sunrise, right now. My other favorite are ALL of my prayer plants. The only true low light house plant for me that constantly push new growth.
Unrelated, Harli's hair looks so good in this video 🔥 i just got a cebu blue, looking forward to it getting HUGE over the years
Your grandma's hoya is beautiful. I've really downsized this last year from about 200 plants to about 50. It's hard to pick a favorite. I've come to appreciate the beauty in all the ones I have left. Trailing hoyas are my most recent love now though
The plant that your friend sent you is adorable 🌹🌼🌱🌿🍃🌵🌼🌹
I've been growing and collecting succulents and trops for over 40 yrs. (I'm getting old) lol. Your crassula ovata is corking prob bc you keep it on the much drier side. The leaves pointing downward says give it more light and water a few days after the soil totally dried (soak and dry method) more light=more water leaves point upward and no corking if you don't have it so dry. I've been watching you for a long time and you're very cute. ❤❤❤ I have a coral fire aloe that I acclimated to full all day sun planted in the ground but during winter I pot it and bring it inside bc I live in 6b and it's the brightest shade of coral red and is about to bloom with a spike in full buds!!! ❤❤❤ I am lucky to have large south facing windows in the front of my house on both floors so it's fine to put it in the window for the winter 😊
I can always count on you to show plants I've never seen before! I'm loving succulents too, so easy 👍
Its so hard to pick favorites! I have 3 plants that were gifted to me that I really admire. I have a Stromanthe Triostar that my grandma divided off of hers and a Purple Shamrock that my grandma also propagated and then I have a gorgeously long Neon Pothos my great grandma gifted me!! I agree theres something a little extra special to appreciate about those because of who I got them from.❤ I think of both my grandmas everytime I water and care for them.
I could never get rid of them!
Scindapsus exotica is my favorite. I’m gonna NEED a dancing bones cactus after seeing yours 😍
I’m a huge fan of plants that have caudex’s too, one of my favs is my desert Rose, Adenium obesum , it drops all its leaves in winter and it’s just a funky looking bulbous dead plant with green sticks poking up, so cool
Those were definitely some interesting choices. I am solely addicted to Hoya for the lad 6 years. I only care about them. I have over 70 different varieties in my collection right now and growing!! 💚💚💚
The Begonia from your gma is great. I love the leaves. How special to have from her😊❤
My favorite type of plant right now is African Violets. They aren’t talked about a lot for some reason… maybe because they are a little more challenging. But I think they’re so lovely and sweet. I just want a whole room full of them! 💜
I adore African Violets too! I have two of them and love them dearly
I love the Aloe Coral Fire. It's so pretty and I love it in bloom too.... gorgeous 💋👍🌹
Harli, I love watching your videos! They really make me feel excited to care for my own plant babies. I’ve been very curious on how you learned to identify different types of plants. Also, thank you for always being you and making my day a little brighter!
My favorites are ponytail palm cebu blue neon pothos and rabbit foot ferm
Such good picks! Ponytail palm especially 🤌
I love my ponytail ☺️☺️☺️❤️❤️
Absolutely great and beautiful plant favorites Harli, every one of them!! I'm amazed and delighted that your Jade is doing so well in North light!!
I inherited plants from my grandmother, and they are so special to me ❤
This was a fun video! I think your dancing bones cactus is my favorite. Some of my faves are the different kinds of orchid cacti that my neighbor randomly gifted me. They grow steadily in medium bright light, but completely explode outside in the spring/summer. They also bloom once mature and even though they are technically cacti, their spikes are very soft. You would have to brush them at a really weird angle to get poked. I have 2 kids and 2 dogs also and they’ve never hurt themselves.
All the nostalgia that last plant just gave me.
Great picks! I always change my favorites but I always come back to a few core loves like Albuca Spiralis, Calathea Musaica, and any and all Aglaonemas!
Each of these plants has their own story and I would pick one to start my indoor plant journey🥰
I'm with you on the love of silver plants. My favs + the ones that have thrived the best in my care are the cebu blue pothos, scindapsus trubeii moonlight and pepperomia frost!
Love the pot you have the Thai pink in! Wow what a stunning combo 🤩
My favourite is my giant Spider plant, even all the babies are giant now . Every time I look at it i get joy
Ive been obsessed with all my trailing plants like the cebu, all my pothos, jade scindapsus!
Pretty Jade
My most favorite plant right now is my Hoya polyneura albomarginata. It's a gorgeous trailing plant that is so whimsical looking! I also love all my aglaonemas!
Always look forward to new videos from you!!!! Loved this ❤
I love the shape of your dancing bones! I’m really excited to see what pot you end up going with. I’m going to my huge local greenhouse this weekend and they have so many wonky overgrown cacti/ succulents. You’ve inspired me to go pick out a weirdo 😂 love the Bismarck peep at the end there ❤️
All your plants are elegant and beautiful, but the begonia is extra special😊🥰🥰🥰😘
I love the jade and money tree
I LOVE how very emotional you were when talking about your grandma's plant 🥰 I also loved her so much, she was literally my second mother in a way, so I totally feel you with the emotional connection you feel to her plant!
Oh my gosh hi! Aw she’s such a special lady. Mind sharing who you are?! I’m so excited someone made it to my video that really knew her ❤️
@@HarliG oh my god. I meant that I also loved MY grandma😰😰😰😰😭😭 Instead of "mine" I used "her". Im soooo incredibly sorry😅 Im german and I accidentally mixed up the vocabulary.
The first plant I never heard of! Now I want it! Great video, thank you!
Your epiphany is that your favorite plants are the ones that make it!... lol me too, it's hard for a plant to become ones favorite if it doesn't survive and thrive a little. Get Kalanchoe plants, those things don't die.
You are glowing! I love your videos like this. It feels like we’re hanging out
Your energy is infectious!! I've been watching you for years(and we played among us at some point) and I'll never stop supporting you!! Thanks for the lovely video per usual.
You are bless. Amen!
Love all of them. Great choices! Now I will Google and try to buy some. 🥰
Have fun 😋 thank you
I've never been impressed with that begonia until i saw your grandma's. I'd definitely pick one up if i came across it. 😊
I ❤ my philodendron jungle boogie, peace lily, huge Draceana marginata, micans, and surprisingly my Aglonema golden Madonna. It is one that I wasn’t a huge fan of but have grown to love more and more overtime since it has been in my home
Thank you!!!’ A full cebu is so satisfying. I don’t know if I want mine on poles! Variegated possibly.
That lipstick plant is so cool! I have the black pagoda which has cool flowers but the really blend into the plant.i have so many favorites. I think my Hoyas are all at the top of my list, and I have a ton of sanseveria that are way up there too. I have a xerocisios danguii that is really close to the top of my list. It has grown so much and I saw one at the Cleveland Botanical Garden when visiting my friend and it was scrambling all over the place and the paddles were at least 4 times the size on mine!!!
I love 🌵 plants too, I attribute that to me growing in the desert, but I think the reason is because they can be so unique and alien. Another type of plants I love are those with small leaves or unique huge leaves.
I was thinking what could be my favorite plants and it will be all my most expensive plants, and the reason is because im so proud they’re alive cause they could be hard to replace.
I like your videos and channel 💕 all your plant knowledge 🌱 is appreciated ❤
Hi Harli, love all of the plants you selected, specially the last one, ‘Dancing Bone Cactus’
I also love how the Jade plant gets better as it ages!
I recommend you look up some Rhipsalis cacti, specially the Mistletoe Cactus and Coral Cactus, and so many others, they are the coolest trailing plants,I find them very easy to care for as well. Thank you for a great video. ❤Natalie 🪴
Love you Harli! ❤❤❤❤
Love you ❤️
I love videos like this! Ones that say your favorite or ones you wouldn’t buy again lol
My favorites is one I have a mixed pot of Hoya Chelsey, Crinkle 8, varnish and princess! Also, scindapsus exotica, Hoya kroniona super silver and Hoya crimson queen! I have a lot at the moment. Lol
I have never seen a Thai Pink before it’s amazing 💕 I also have a Begonia Maculata a friend gave me. It currently has leaves that are sixteen inches long 😮
I finally got a replacement pink lipstick! I am so excited.
Love my aglaonema pictum tricolor😎 Good grower and so pretty!
the production value on this video is just *chef's kiss* I can tell you've been working hard to elevate your content and it shows!!!!! also obsessed w my money tree they have so much character🌴
Yesssss I’ve been waiting for this ❤️ I hope things are well 🥰
Thank youuuuu thanks for stopping by! They are, I hope the same for you (:
Hi Harli, your first two plants are pretty, I don't have either of them but love that first one that your sweet mom gave you those cuttings. the Begonia maculata "Wightii" is so pretty and I love the poka dotts on the leaves and am still looking to get one when I find it, I do love begonias, and so sweet of you grandma to give that to you, I have plants that were my mom's that I got after she passed away, those give me sweet memories of her. Oh and I really love your variegated Pachira aquatica, I just have the regular green one. I also have two jade plants and 10 other succulents in my bedroom in my south facing window and are doing just fine. Oh and I also have a Cebu blue pothos in a hanging pot that is huge and doing great, I have trimmed her and had propagations that I gave to my daughter and a couple of friends. I also love that bluish color it has. Oh yours is so gorgeous and really long. Oh gosh that Hatiora salicornioides I have one that is huge and was my mom's and like I mentioned she is gone and I really love this plant so much, thanks so much I always thought it was a form of ripsalis, I will relable it now that I know the correct name. Thanks so very much for this really fun video to watch, I just love your channel so much and also your mom's, and having really meant you both was such a great blessing. Have a beautiful day, sending love and hugs, bye! 😂😊🤗👋👋👍🙏💜💜
I love plants with different or unusual colors, my favorites are Treubii Moonlight Scindapsus, Strawberry Cream and Maria Allusion Syngoniums.
Ok I definitely need thet first one!
Great video! I also watched the favorites video from a year ago and none of those made it to this year. Your aloe makes me want to get one for myself.
I got a cebu blue cutting start of spring that’s now grown into a vine, each leaf has fenestrations, she’s in full sun, south facing and loves it. I guess it’s also down to the genes of the plant that determines whether or not they’ll have fenestrations 🌱
I also have a ‘standard’ form of cebu blue that has no fenestrations.
Yours looks absolutely fabulous regardless of the fenestrations 🤩
💚
My current very very favorite is a global green Pothos. I really love healthy full plants & it’s my fullest plant.
Hello! I like how you realized something more about yourself in the end. I too enjoy succulents. Rhipsalis especially make me happy. They are all tried and true. Get huge. Very vocal & interactive. I have mostly very bright & hot southern facing windows my home.
I will always own a spider plant too. There are a few types. They are too fun to propagate & go away to new plant friends. They tell you when they need anything. When they get oodles of babies I could just squeal.
My favs are my lifesaver cactus, dieffenbachia memoria corsii, silver bay aglaonema and lastly, the Thanksgiving/easter/Christmas Cactus plants which I inherited from my elderly neighbor before she moved. Those holiday cactus plants have a lot of sentimental value for me and knowing she got some of them from her grandmother is mind blowing. It's a lot of pressure to keep them thriving. I can't be the one to kill something that's been alive for over 60 years!!!😂
There are some really cool succulents out there 😉
Succulents are not my thing, but that Thai pink is SO CUTE!!!
Love all of your plants. I’m going to have to look for that Cebu and the begonia and add to my collection. My favorite from my collection is the Whale Fin Sansaveiria. It has a baby growing on each side of it. Very expensive. I’ve seen it priced at $32. Think about that … it’s one leaf! But it’s so unique. I was lucky to find one at $22 at Callaways.
I’m not usually a succulent kinda gal, but I was recently introduced to Sedum multiceps (aka ‘Mini Joshua Tree) and it’s right up your alley 😍
You have pretty plants 🌵❤
I had to go out and buy the Thai Pink & Dancing Bones cactus after seeing how beautiful yours were!
This is my favorite outro you’ve done, the pictures are so cute!!
I gotta save the rattlesnake calathea! So cool how much it moves throughout the day and closes up at night. And the peace lilies and philodendron! People talk about how hard calathea are to care for but mine are tough.. it would definitely be even easier in a vase of water and gravel with hyrdo ferts from time to time! Sheffield just made a couple cool videos on doing that, and the calathea dottie thrives suspended in my aquarium! No soil = no root rot! Thanks for sharing 🙏
Also if you love Crassula ovata for its corking and tree-like appearance, the Gollum cultivar does this too and looks really sculptural. Both also propagate so easily and size up fast. Such an under-rated plant!
Nice faves
I've ordered the Dancing Bones twice keep getting the Mistletoe Cactus, they're tricky!!
For blue-green foliage Amydrium medium Silver is stunning and also fenestrates early and has an interesting bullate texture a bit like a Monstera Peru. Only issue is it really needs a moss pole or it will send endless runners. Also Epipremnum amplissimum Silver. I don’t have this but it has that blue-green look and being a pottos it’s got to be a winner. Harli if you love bright pink blooms, I recommend the humble Holiday cactus Schlumbergera truncata (get the pink-flowering cultivar obvs). In bright light it explodes during blooming season with a profusion of the most intense cerise pink flowers. Really beautiful and such a trouble-free fast growing plant.
I love your choices, and I love the sentimental side also. I have some of my own plants I hope never die because they came from loved ones. Also your biceps are rippin’ girl 💪😂
I love all lipstick plants!
Begonia challenger is a really great cultivar. It gets these massive furry stems and leaves, and its like a dark lime green. Super easy keeper. I've been really impressed with it. It's in the Summer Rayne video of the begonia tour with Don Miller from a few years ago. That's where i first saw it.
😅😮
Love my little Hoya Lacunosa, she blooms constantly, adorable💚🌱🤗 my string of hearts, love their blooms also. Have 2 beautiful Rex Begonias, so easy, and colorful💚💚💚 Love my Phaelonopsis Orchids, blooms are so pretty!!! I just Love plants period!!! 🤗🌱💚💚💚💚💚💚💚😍😍😍😍
I went out looking for a dancing bones after seeing it in one of ur videos. Some how found a really bushy 6in pot. Can’t wait for it to age!
I love this video! Looks like you do like succulents and plants who tell you how they're doing in general. I'd never heard of the Aeschynanthus Thai Pink before! She's a beauty!
I'm a new subscriber to your channel. I had seen a video or two before, but then lost you. I'm glad I found you again!
I also love my Jade and I could never give up either of my braided Money Trees. I tend to use the common names for plants; hope you don't mind!
Like you, I enjoy thick trunks and sculptural shapes. I got a Desert Rose in the spring and, after the flowers faded, lopped off half the plant so she could grow her caudex and branch out a bit. I've got my Ponytail Palm outside with her - this is the second summer for that one. I'm very attached!
I just realized how much I care about my two oldest snake plants. I got them through the mail and they were bent and broken on arrival. I supported the bent leaves and propagated the broken ones in water - most of them rooted and are scattered about my house.
I also feel in love with a Monstera Albo on Etsy - with that specific plant ... It was packaged well but -literally- steaming when I opened the silver bubble wrap that was protecting her. She looked fine at first, but by morning was dried to a crisp. I'm waiting until the temps moderate to get the replacement - I think she cooked in that packaging. I just loved the watercolor patterns on her leaves... I wasn't in the market for such a pricey plant, but then I saw her! The seller will let me choose her replacement, but I can't imagine finding one I love so much, you know?
So, other than that devastating loss, I'd say the plants I'm most attached to are those I've put a lot of energy into - whether by pruning, supporting, emergency repotting on arrival... The ones I either fell in love with at first glance or who needed saving - or both in the case of the Ponytail! She arrived battered and limp with a soft caudex... She's about 2 feet tall now with a beautifully thick caudex and abundant curly hair. 😊
I love all the plants under my roof but with some I do have a deeper connection. Thank you for sharing yours!
I've never seen the Thai pink! It's amazing! And I really want a trailing jade but have never seen one, just a small regular. They grow slowly, right?
Love all your favs! Do you have any Hoyas? Would love to see 😊
The end was my favorite. I always say it with you so it threw me off but the remix was beautiful 😂
My favorite changes all the time but right now I'm seriously loving on my cissus discolor and my anthurium wendlingerii
I ❤ your picks. I tried to grow jade plants outside and failed miserably. I brought a piece of one is and it is thriving. The variegated one is impossible though 🤷♀️.
Great video !!
Thanks!
This makes me want to walk around and see if I can narrow down the ones I absolutely have to keep if I had to get rid of my plants. 🤔
OMG if you like the Cebu Blue you absolutely must have a Silver Sword, the coloring is like 🤩!
Besides the amazing plants, why does your hair always look so good 😭😭😭 it always looks so nice!!!
Wow, where to begin with favorites 🤔
I guess the most favorite right now are my two blue/purple African Violets. Never repotted, so still in the peat moss from nursery. I bottom water once a week with AV plant food. These babies keep blooming over and over again. So far four times since May.
Your Thai pink is stunning, you should sell cuttings in your shop! My current faves are my neon pothos, philo brasil and all my Hoyas!
Succulents are my favorite type of plants so I'm definitely biased in strong support of your picks 😂 I have four types of Crassula ovata (plain, Tricolor, Hobbit, and Hommel's Sunset) and many Haworthia which are very similar to the aloe you mentioned
That Thai Pink is wonderful.
Favorite plants, wow, to many for me.
Loved the video and girl you are definitely a succulent lover.
I don’t know when the succ love went away & then returned 😮
@@HarliG LOL!
Well you have really been doing the great interior and exterior decorating and succulents, to me, seem to be so artistic and unique. The different shapes, make them like sculptures. Like your UFO planter, oh my goodness, so stinking artistic.
All of my plants are my favorites. My purple passion is at the top of the list though. Prayer plant of any color and my goldfish plant. I do not grow all those large pothos, phillies, etc that you grow. I need color. And lack of light, less than you, is my issue. I have to grow under plant lights. Love your channel.
The muuuuug ✨🌿
The Thai Pink is so beautiful and especially in that container. Do you drill holes in your containers that don’t have holes in the bottom?
My favs are my Silver Sword and my Scindapsus (have three different t kinds but exotica still rings my chime the loudest.
My list would be, my golden pothos (I got cuttings from my grandma and the original plant is from the 1970s), my philodendron splendid, Cebu blue, jade satin scindapsus, my ric rac cactus (it’s a shocker to me that it is indeed a favorite haha) and my variegated chiapense.
