Put a Kenwood ddx5706s in my 08 cts yesterday. Used the same exact metra 99-3018s kit. Had no problems at all, bypassed factory amp to sub and 4 channel fosgate amps. Looks great and sounds even better....follow all directions to a T and u will not have a problem one. Happy Installing..

I just bought a 2012 CTS and wanna upgrade the dash but all I can find is the Tesla style and I like your setup better because as u said if the screan got damaged the climate controls wouldn’t be affected and it would be a hell of a lot cheaper to just replace the screan display then the entire Tesla screan . Do u have a link for your setup? Or do you half to buy some of it on different sites? Any help would be appreciated.

Hey I have a 2009 Cadillac CTS and I went to best buy and even though they sell all the parts they will not install a double din stereo in my CTS. I have knowledge of how to install amps stereos in older cars but I'm over my head to install it myself unless it was all pre-wired. Do they sell a pre-wired kit? Or do you know where I could take my car to have it done? I live in Hot Springs Arkansas about 60mi from little rock
If I wanted to totally do away with the factory amp and speakers, (utilizing all aftermarket) can the climate control etc. just be directly plugged in like factory? Does it HAVE to wired in with the metra kit?
Far as the red wires, should there be 3 connected together?
When did you plug in the steering wheel controls?

@ Lion Tec X It wuld be nice to be able to change from analog to digital system after much study it seem that its the analog system that interfere with your led lights.
You are absolutely right about the interference. However using brand names like Sylvania for the interior light I have zero flicker unlike before. Don’t know if this helps
Does the hook up of the harness require a chassis ground. Plus I noticed you didn’t use the steering wheel control module.
It's been so long, but I believe if you wire up the harness correctly the ground is within the harness you don't have to run the ground to the chassis. Also the wheel control module wasn't hard at all afterwards at the time I did it, I did have to call Metra one time to clarify something I just can't remember, but after that everything worked fine and still does til this day in June 2023.
So where do I buy this whole setup for my 2008 CTS ???
Does that radio you have already come with the reverse camera to install? What size radio did you get so I know which one fits the dash kit?

I called and confirmed with Metra since I don't have a subscription and the answer is yes On-star will work as long as you have a subscription.
I have a 2010 cts and my speakers work when I play the radio but when I connect to the aux in the middle console I can only hear music out of the drivers side of the car is there a way I can just fix that or do I have to do this

Why is the cover on the top of the radio attached with a flat rope when you remove it??? Can someone tell me what it is for? Thank you

The cts already has a back up cam what do I do then?
I don't have that version Cadillac with the camera, if I did I would definitely experiment with it or if someone else would be willing to lend me a car to do so, I would make a video, but for now your guess is as good as mine. I personally would try to combine the systems if I had the opportunity.
I have a 2009 cts, after buying a double din trim for 200$ on Amazon and a deck for at least 200$ might as well just order the tesla style radio instead

It just works as long as you hook everything correctly and follow the process in the video. It will work

Jose, I have the same problem, but he goes through the process. I'm going to try it out and hopefully it works.
I had to get the Metra reverse harness and attach my factory radio with the new system. Only then did my climate control functions start working again.
My stereo won’t turn on and off by itself. And my ac won’t turn on. I took it apart and got my ac to work but the screen won’t show the temperature, and it stopped working after I put all my interior back on

If a reset doesn't work like in the video, I would contact Metra as I heard from them a firmware update may have to be done to their unit. They told me mine might require it after I had a few issues where my controls wouldn't come on. Doesn't happen enough for me to take apart my dash so I just do the reset it anytime it happens...
I'm just hoping you didn't short anything in the process. Double check all your wiring etc

The nav system do not work or sxm
I dont have the cts with a stock nav system, but Im sure it becomes disabled as well like the stock xm. I use the xm app on my phone with the atoto car link feature, it's actually even better in my opinion. Driving under tree I don't loose signal. The phone signals have been more consistent for me than the satellite
