i made this, and it turned out SO perfect! here's what i did different: - i used black crepe fabric, it was the best choice i could've made, it had such a beautiful flow and hang :) - i didn't do two rows of elastic, only one. still turned out very cute. - i made the sleeves a little longer, and i recommend everyone trying this to add around 2 inches. the ruffles eat up more fabric that you'd predict. also, wish me luck! i'm going to use this same tutorial to make a dress. (i won't cut the fabric short to waist level, i'll use a skirt pattern to make the bottom half.)
I saw a similar top in a shop once and I cried as a broke Uni Student. Then UA-cam recommended me your extremely easy (I mean only cutting rectangles? I’m in!) tutorial and now I can’t wait to start this project! I have a cute bedsheet, so I can practice it on and then I can move to more ambitious fabric once’s I got the hang of it! Thank you so much!!!
This is a really great video! Audio was very clear and loud enough for me to hear. The instructions were simple to follow as a beginner sewer. Thank you for making this!
I love how you breakdown the plan in the beginning, love how you make the sleeves, and like how clean/professional the casing for your elastic is. Great tutorial!💞✨
The most simple guide for beginner. Only 3 squares & voila. Other patterns usually need us to make the body pattern first & bla3. Exactly the pattern I am looking for but mine will be with straps. Two tumbs up!
I appreciate you so much for explaining how to find the measurements according to my body! so many upcycle/thrift flip videos don't explain that part so THANK YOUUU
I just finished doing this and loved it! It wasn't hard at all, but since I'm new to all of this took me all day, the results were amazing, just changed the body a little bit since I don't feel very comfortable with crop tops, so I did it a little bit longer and just did 2 elastics instead of 3. Thank you so much for this amazing video, I always saw those kinds of tops and loved them and the fact that now I can make it myself makes me very happy.
Hi! I just came here to tell you you have NO IDEA how many sewing videos I've watched over the last few years, but this video is on a different level. First of all this is sooo my style, and the way you explained things is so good and helpful! I am definitely going to bingewatch all of your videos hahaha. But for real, this video is so good. Well done!
Great tutorial. I made this in a mid-weight linen and because of the heavier fabric it dipped down more than I wanted it to in the back, so I removed some of the width from just the back panel and then only added elastic in the front of the neckline. I also added ties on the back shoulders to help it stay on (and because they look cute). Overall it came out great and I really appreciate how clear and thorough your video was. I'm thinking of making another one as a dress.
omg making this rn but i’ve never sewed anything before so i’m trying with this bed sheet with a pretty pattern 0.0 I just got a sewing machine today so i’m gonna use all ur vids eek then ima get some better fabric 😅😅
finished the elastic on one sleeve doing the second i love how it looks and i decided to hand sew the elastic cuz i’ve never sewed something so small on the machine so that’s that
It took me so long to cut out the fabric like i wanted to be precise but then the first sleeve also took me so long but the second sleeve was so quick and i’m almost don’t but i think it did take me too long
Food is I just finished my top tonight and what I decided to do was thread a really long piece of elastic through that whole top “tunnel” and then put the top on and adjust it until everything looked and felt right. Then I cut the elastic accordingly. Hope that helps!
Yes!! Thanks for making beginner-friendly sewing tutorials for trendy and contemporary styles.💜💜 if you ever made a Patreon with tutorials, I’d definitely join!
I've just started using my very first sewing machine and elastic can be intimidating! But I love this kind of tops, so I'll try to make one at some point. Thank you for the inspiration, your top is lovely ♥
11:53 do we pull the elastic through the upper sleeves too ? And how do we know how much elastic ? Do I wrap it around my upper chest ? Sorry for leaving so many questions 😭
Thank you for this, I'm going to have a sheer / tule with a flower aplique top over a sweetheart neckline (waistline up) and I really wanted it to be flowy and cute like this top is. I'll hope it works out well for the tule material.
I made this and it turned out soooo beautifully! This is my fav blouse I have now 😍Thank you so much for the beautiful pattern and easy to follow instructions! ❤️❤️
I really love your tutorials. They are very detailed and you're showing the patterns and measurement. This is very helpful especially for me as a beginner. Thanks a lot! 🥺😍
I made this and you loved it (instagram). I posted it on Facebook and everyone is going nuts over the pattern - everyone wants to give it a go! Its such a cute and fun pattern to put together 🥰
I'm liking it and putting it on my list of things to make. Thankyou in advance 🙌 also it looks great on you and I love how it can be worn as off shoulder and as a sleeve. I like versatile clothes
Found your page on UA-cam. I’m a big fan! I’ve subscribed and now I look forward to watching more of your videos. This blouse is beautiful and I can’t wait to make it. Your instructions are so easy to follow and very clear and concise. I also love your accent. Thank you so much!!!
I don’t want to make it a crop top or add the little shirred designs; do I still stop measuring for Body at the end of my bra? Or do I go down to where I actually want the shirt to stop, my waist? Thank you!
Hi Bianca. My name is Jane and I'm from Brazil / Rio de Janeiro. I'm a sewing beginner and I love your channel. I don't understand anything you say (😁), but I managed to make this beautiful shirt because of the markings you wrote on the paper (always do this, please !! 🙏). Congratulations!! You are wonderful and talented! p.s: as i also don't know how to write in english, i used the "google translator" to be able to communicate with you 😍
Hello ! I'm a French people who is watching this video so sorry if my English is not perfect 😅 I think this video is very clear and easy to understand so thanks for that ! I just had a question, how can you pass the elastic band in the tube of the top ? (Not the sleeves, I understand that 😅) because the fabric is completely sewed... Thanks for the people who can answer 😊
I know it’s been a while since you posted this, but I wondered if you have any suggestions for a sleeve seam that’s a bit too tight under the armpit. Would I just need to make that triangular cut at each side of the torso piece a little longer? In any case, thank you for this tutorial. My new top looks great!
Hello! Thank you for this tutorial, it was really clear and the top is turning out great. I have one question, how long should the top elastic for the top should be? Or how can I measure it? I am not quite sure since it includes the sleeves, thank you!.❤
Great presentation best I've seen so far! One question tho what was the length of the elastic you used for the top gather which goes all around the sleeves and top of bust?
So I made this blouse and it turned out awesome! It was a great step up for me and I learned a lot. I just have one question: how would you iron this top? I washed it and dried it and it got all wrinkled and i tried to iron it but it just doesn't look the same, if someone has a suggestion please feel free to help me out :) Great video!
I'm confused when you were cutting the fabric it looked like there was only one piece for the top but then when you were attaching the sleeves there was 2 side seams. did you just cut the top in half and then reattach it?
I love this Top ...but this square neck is lil wider for me I want a round or v neck..if u also give formula about that it will be very helpful for me 😊 or there is any way to make small square neck plz tell😊

hey, just curious. how did turning it into a dress go?

11:53 do we pull the elastic through the upper sleeves too ? And how do we know how much elastic ? Do I wrap it around my upper chest ? Sorry for leaving so many questions 😭
Hi! Yes, you simply wrap it around your shoulders and add seam allowance. The elastic goes around the whole upper edge so sleeves aswell.
@@OwlipopDIY But you didn't tell how long the elastic should be
very nice but I have a problem with the elastic, how to measure it?
