Superb work, Rob. Love these Zvezda braille scale kits. They are a real boon to us small scale hobbyists. Self propelled gun, figures, and base work are top notch. Quantity and quality.....keep them coming.

Thank you, Bill.. I have invested in quite a few of these Zvezda tanks, both Russian and German. I was thrilled to see they've even done a Sherman now.. so pleased in fact that I bought two! :) My only gripe is that you can't add a driver / commander to these tanks.. but that is a minor thing. Thanks for dropping by.. I am behind in viewing and commenting as always..

Thank you... :) I am currently working on my fourth and final entry for your group build. It will be a very small diorama / vignette from the 30 Year War.. :)

A nice weekend present from you, Rob. Very nice, the Su-122 self-propelled gun from Zvezda.
Good result, along with a fitting set of escort infantry. All well packaged in a beautifully designed diorama.
    A great contribution.
Please send me, as before, a set of pictures for the final compilation.
I wish you a nice weekend and a lot of fun with the next thing on your workbench.
    Greetings, Joachim

Glad you liked it.. will e-mail some photos later.. :) :) I have one more entry on the go for your group build, a small diorama setting with Swedish artillery from the 30 Year War.. :) It appealed to me more than the French or Russian artillery I had planned to do, mainly because it is Swedish.. ;)

No problem, Rob. I will then exchange the cover sheets for the final compilation accordingly. As soon as I see the kit in your videos, like the SU-122, I change the cover sheets accordingly. So have fun with the Swedish artillery and have a nice weekend. Joachim

Lovely job, Rob! Good work with the tracks - I had my doubts to start with, but you nailed 'em.The figures add a lot to it - as does the music! Great little scene. Cheers. 👍

Thank you.. It was the first time I've done this kind of tracks, but I learnt from it (hopefully) and know how to do it better, next time.. even though it didn't turn out too bad this time, luckily. I find tanks and armoured / soft skin vehicles are best shown in a diorama / vignette to get the best feel for the vehicle and situation.. and figures is a great way to add scale and size as well, so when I can, I try to include some. The ZVEZDA range has some great stuff that doesn't cost a lifetime of savings to buy either, so they're becoming a firm favourite of mine.. :)

@@BasicModelling I completely agree! I don't think I'd build a kit without a diorama idea - that's where I find the most fun. 😁 I built ZVEZDA's SU 85,and really enjoyed it and I'll be tackling their Merc. L4500 soon. As much detail as I need at a cracking price - takes some beating! Cheers. 👍

Excellent job done Rob! Both the gun and figures came out great. And a nicely builded base. Thanks for sharing, take care and keep up the good work my friend.

Man, you posted so much lately and i had not much time to watch it all lately, a bad combo! I will try to remedy that now.
A nice Soviet assault gun for sure, its is hard to believe but i haven´t built a model of this varient yet. I think the Su85 or Su100 looks a bit better, but that is just a personal preference from a tank modeller :) Your diorama base turned out very nice in particular, always great to see a model in a natural setting.

Thank you... Well, yes, I have been busy, I guess.. :) I am always grateful for your input on my builds, though. As for the Su-85 and Su-100, I agree that they are a bit beefier, and as it happens I have both of those and an IS-2 in my stash, all in the ZVEZDA 1/72 range. I was thinking of doing a 'Mother Russia' Group Build later, but pending the current situation, Russia may not be everyones favourite topic at the moment.. ;) Glad you liked my little SU-122.. :)

Just discovered your videos Rob . Most impressed . I assume by basic modelling you mean you are a no frills modeller who is,nt overly concerned with everything being 100% acccurate as long as it,s a good representation of the original which basically is what l do . l liked the S.U. 122 dio . One question - Were the trees self made or did you buy them ? lf so , where ? Cheers . [ have subscribed ]

    • @BasicModelling

Thank you.. and yes, no frills and happy as long as my Spitfires look like Spitfires.. ;) Unfortunately I haven't yet got round to making my own trees, I normally source them on ebay or Amazon. If you don't want anything too fancy, you can get trees quite cheap. Obviously the more realistic ones cost a bit more.. these are just generic HO / OO railway scenery stuff.. :)
