  • What do fast-casual chain Shake Shack, online grocery retailer Misfits Market and fitness company MIRROR have in common? Founders who saw opportunity where others didn’t and the ambition to see their dreams through.
    Shake Shack began as a hot dog cart in 2001 in New York City’s Madison Square Park by famed restaurateur Danny Meyer. The menu was handwritten by Meyer on a single sheet of paper in about 10 minutes and is about 85% the same today.
    Brynn Putnam, the CEO and founder of MIRROR, secured $3 million in venture capital to fund her tech-based fitness company on the same day that she gave birth to her son. In the summer of 2020, Putnam sold MIRROR for $500 million to Lululemon.
    Abhi Ramesh landed on the idea to sell ugly fruits and vegetables while apple picking with his girlfriend. In 2020, Misfits Market shipped 77 million pounds of food to more than 400,000 households across the U.S. Since launching in 2018, Misfits Market has expanded to both coasts, has over 1,000 employees and has received over $300 million in funding.
    All three founders made costly mistakes along the way, but were able to see past their hardships to take their idea from a dream to a successful business. Watch this Founder Effect marathon to learn more.

      She already knew the people at Lululemon, this was a gift and ultimately a 500million loss for Lululemon. A mirror with a computer in it costs 1495? No thanks I'll just get a TV and workout through that. Or a peleton bike. This idea of hers would've gone nowhere unless the dopes at lululemon who she was already friends with gave her the cash. I bet she paid them in kickbacks.

      @@johnames6430 a lot of wealthy people buy the weirdest gadgets. Her target demographic probs wasn’t the average person, but more geared towards wealthy moms who like to look at themselves LOL when wealthier people are buying you don’t need as many people to buy the product because you can get a larger profit margin out of it. I don’t think it was a loss for Lulu lemon

    Is mirror really a succesful company?

    • @johnames6430
      @johnames6430 Рік тому +1

      It's 1495 for a mirror that displays some text and video. It's worse than a TV. Why you wouldn't just use a tv panel that has 4k resolution and just mount a camera on it to "mirror" the person is beyond me 😂 but great hustle by her, she knew the people at lululemon, they must have invested privately then got some deal together to make the company buy it then they profit as investors or she gave them money in kickbacks. Really nice hustle. It's like the guys who left Xbox to start steam then go back to microsoft to get them to put their games on the steam platform.

And so he helped me to put the first little bit of code into the Mirror and just really ensure that the concept I had in my mind could be brought to life. And then from there, obviously, over time, we hired a team." 😂😂😂 I'm dying over here LMAO 🤣🤣😂😂 BTW she is a harvard grad, and already worked for Lululemon and knew the people there. This was some sneaky stuff where she got some sweet deal and cashed out probably paid back the people in some way to made this corporate deal go through. By the way the CEO for MIRROR stepped down. The whole thing is a disaster but it's awesome how she made off with the money.
