3:36 "When I first met him he was this short, now he's this tall!" "Compared to his dad, they don't look alike" "No they look the same! they look the same!"
Definitely go to a Ethiopian spot, super underrated and it’s very good they use so many different herbs and spices. Also a very unique way they eat food using injera instead of utensils
Jet, I visited Korean Village when I was in Toronto in September. I mentioned I watched your video showcasing the wonderful service and food you've constantly received from here and I have to say, I finally experienced what you've been enjoying for many years. Jay was an amazing host as well as the other servers who tended our table. This place is now a must go whenever I am back in the 6ix. When me and my girlfriend mentioned where we were from, we shared a great conversation with Jay about how he knows and at one point, visted our hometown, and upon leaving he blessed us with some soju and shot glasses to take home with us. The level of hospitality Jay provides is bar-none, and I can see why your family among many others have chosen such an amazing restaurant to have get-togethers at. They truly deserve all the success and then some. Thank you for showing us such great eateries in your many videos and hopefully there's more to come so I have more places to add on my list of must try food.
Bumped into your dad on the Toronto streets a few weeks ago. He was such an approachable and authentic man, was kinda starstruck and forgot to ask him what would his top advice be for an aspiring restaurant chef/owner, would be cool if you could help me ask him haha Anyways, as always enjoy your chill styled vlogs, I wish Mr Lee was my dad cuz I loovvveee eating 😂
Oh my,, this episode is awesome! Coming from Korean background, I feel so comfortable watching this episode! I love how you and your dad spend quality time together. I am very hungry watching this video! Thank you for the video!
I love the bond that you and your dad have. And I love the chemistry that you have as well the amount of respect you both given to each other and I think it's wonderful the time that you are spending with each other it makes me very happy to see that
I love the videos with your dad. I figured out why he's an "Iron Chef" Cause he knows the origin of food. Where it comes from. Who it was shared with. The seasonings different cultures use. Traditions. But with the knowledge. And the modern tools. He brings them back to life. With A Modern Day, Kick In The Pants.
Ethiopian is one of my favorite cuisine discoveries in the past few years. Had raw, seasoned beef rolled up in a tortilla-like wrap and it was really good.
I really enjoyed this video and am so happy you and your Dad appreciate Korean cuisine. That was quite a spread of some of my fave Korean dishes! How about Peruvian cuisine next? I grew Aji Amarillo peppers in my garden for the first time. It is a spicy and aromatic pepper that is the base of a lot of Peruvian dishes. I would love to learn more about Peruvian cuisine.
as a man with almost no family at all, idk if u realize the chance of having ur dad but we gonna move to torronto only to eat some of his food, u are blessed man fr
Almost… Jay: When I first met him, he was this tall. Now he’s like this. Waitress: But his face doesn’t resemble his dad’s really Jay: No, it’s similar… It’s similar
I've been bingeing these vids to catch up and I am almost proud of how charismatic Jet has become. Mogul in the making! Please try Ethiopian food like your dad suggested and eat using your fingers, you'll be surprised at how the flavor is enhanced!
This is a perfect montage of Korean food to showcase - it covered traditional, street, modern, and even Korean-Chinese food. Korean translation: Owner said that you were a lil kid, but now you’re a huge monster lol Service lady noted that you don’t look like your pops and said it in a way that maybe implied you don’t look Asian. Owner quickly responded, “Nah, they’re similar.” Lol I gotta check this place out when I’m in Toronto
Just went to the same restaurant in the video and the owners there are lovely, great hospitality, service and and some fire food! Thanks for the recommendation i made sure to let them know your video sent me, cheers
My son and I have started my bucket list of foods/foreign cuisines that I want to try much like this. I'm familiar with Korean cuisine but my son wasn't. He liked rhe idea of banchan when we ordered makgeolli. Next for you guys should be Lebanese. We've had what the videographer called Lebanese pizza and it was bomb.
Not sure of the Mexican food or culture atmosphere over there but I would love to see your dad speak on Mexican food. My favorite and also I’m Mexican so grew up on it lol. ✌🏽
We don't have anywhere near as many Mexican restaurants as in the States, but in the last say 8 or so years the Mexican food scene has been growing in Toronto. Two Mexican restaurants here were recognized by Michelin in the last 3 years. In the last 2 years 3 authentic taco places opened up in my neighbourhood - a first for this area. I recently went to a Korean Mexican restaurant and had the best tacos I've had in the city. Two reviewers from Mexico said the same thing.
Hey Jet, I think youd love an el salvadorian comfort food called Pupusas. I know there is a spot I go to in Scarborough but I know there are spots downtown as well.
Another goodie as always. Maybe some popular italian places of your choices, let ppl know those places everyone says to hit but then are a miss or opposite way. But yea thanks for another vid. **places in toronto yes!
The problem with FB is that the hours are short and the wait is veeeery long. I waited about 2+ hours before I finally got my food. I likely won't return due to the long wait.
Fun fact: Jajang Myeon is considered Chinese food in Korea. I’m surprised SuSur didn’t mention this interesting fact. Also, Neng Myeon originated in North Korea. It is a cold tangy buckwheat noodle soup with a sweet vinegar base usually eaten in the summer with KBBQ to cut the fattiness of all the meat.
Correct. These are all true. Whenever I’m in Korea and my parents asks “do you want to get Chinese takeout?” it will consist of Ja-jang myeon, jam-pong, tang-soo-yok, etc… so fkn good 🤤
The owner said something along the lines of he met you when you were little and now you have grown very tall. And then the waitress said that you guys don't really look alike, but the owner said that no, you guys do look alike
Hey Jet, Love your blog with your dad...the owner said, When I first met him he was this small and how he is this tall. and the waitress said he doesn''t look like he dad and owner said no they are very similar.
You should definitely try Polish food, I assume you can probably find one if not couple of spots that serve that kind of food. A lot of meats, soups and pickled foods. I think yourself and your dad would like it :D

Thank you for sharing a meal with your dad. Everything looked amazing!
Jay the owner is saying that when he first met Jet, he was that small, but now he is very tall. Also that his face hasn’t changed one bit.

It's actually Chinese-Korean. It was invented in Korea by Chinese immigrants.
Jajang Myun is to Korea what orange chicken is to USA. It's our own twists on Chinese-inspired dishes.
Correct. These are all true. Whenever I’m in Korea and my parents asks “do you want to get Chinese takeout?” it will consist of Ja-jang myeon, jam-pong, tang-soo-yok, etc… so fkn good 🤤
There’s an original Chinese version though. The Korean version was created and inspired by the Chinese there after the war.
