I was going to comment on my gratitude of another great winter of indoor cycling thanks to your wonderful videos, the only motivator each winter that changes my indoor bike from a clothes hanger to a useful exercise machine. Finally, you have reviewed a hotel I've stayed at (one night, a few years ago, I had a higher floor room with a great view of the Oakland Bridge, but yes, otherwise, no wow factor, though convenient to the convention center and some museums). I wish you a speedy recovery. Both my daughters are clinicians, and despite wearing full ppe when seeing patients, my youngest one still contracted the virus. Hopefully now the vaccine is being rolled out things will slowly return to some semblance of normality. Keep the videos coming.👍👍

I am always confused in regards to Intercontinental in terms of being a luxury brand... It seems like a lower end luxury type but then there are properties that are true luxury in its portfolio. Its so confusing.

I'm so curious about the new life of Le Grand in Paris. It looks like a huge and refined refurbishement to luxury standards...
I think the problem with IHG is that some companies can lease the name and operate independently as an InterContinental hotel. In other words, not all IHG hotels belong to IHG, and the company doesn't has strict policies like the Ritz-Carlton has for example. I was once interested in working for The Ritz-Carlton (Long story) and the manager interviewed me recognized my passion to hospitality so after the interview we had a lengthy conversation and he explained to me that the brand has demands on things as small as the exact position of the logo on the pens. InterContinental on the other hand offers a lot more flexibility to the different hotels.

I stayed in San Fran at The Grand Hyatt Union Square. For a second I thought it was the same hotel in the video. Chain hotels all have similar handwriting. Interesting to see a standard corporate hotel for a change and the cool blue sky of sun-drenched Cali. Wish you a speedy recovery 💫.

If you go to Los Angeles.. I hope you are able to arrange a stay at the Hotel Bel-Air which in my opinion is the Best Luxury hotel in California while the Beverly Hills Hotel is probably second best. I am glad you have made it to California. 🏝🏝 Edit: I spoke to soon.. this is an older video. Oh well It's still nice to see the footage. ☺☺
Concerning myself, I will be staying at the Hotel Bel-Air in Los Angeles next year, (I hesitated for a long time between the Beverly Hills Hotel, the Hotel Bel Air, and the Peninsula Hotel Los Angeles) and I am very impatient. Your comment reassures me and confirms that I made the right choice by choosing to stay at the Hotel Bel-Air.
