Neat project. Nice shout out to Stanford Language Dept. Just an observation from many years ago - meet the Foreign Language requirement with a not very major language. Portuguese instead of Spanish, Dutch, maybe Norwegian, instead of German. Profs in the "small" languages really want their sections to make so they can teach the language and culture they like. Otherwise they can end up with big sections in their 2nd or 3rd field. The sections will be smaller, Profs more supportive and encouraging students to go on in the language after the requirement is met.

Hello Lex and Leo this was an awesome vid. I need some tips going into my senior year of high school. Rn my current 5k pr is 15:43 and I want to break 15 by the end of xc. What are some tips for improving my training and mileage. What should I do for speed in the offseason?

Well done! As a Flemish person living in Wisconsin, I have first hand experience trying to teach my wife and kids Dutch. Rolling the letter r and some of the sounds in Dutch (wij, zei, hij, eu en u) are extremely difficult for them to learn and read it loud correctly. Counting all the trees seriously made me laugh so hard. Great job team!

I figured you were joking about the palm tree cost but it got me curious to actual costs. A 2024 article from The Standford Daily:
“As per campus lore, Stanford’s signature palms cost $70,000 each in annual maintenance, but students who believe in this rumor are barking up the wrong tree. Gladden said that a single palm tree typically sells for $25,000 to $35,000 in the Bay Area, with pruning costs amounting to $2,000 every three to seven years.”
