- The new 13-inch M4 iPad Pro, Magic Keyboard, and Apple Pencil Pro are here! The iPad Pro now features the debut of the M4 chip, with a 10-core CPU, 10-core GPU, and a 16-core Neural Engine, offering powerful performance. The OLED Ultra Retina XDR display provides stunning brightness and colour accuracy. The new Magic Keyboard has an aluminum housing, function row, and a larger trackpad, while the Apple Pencil Pro introduces a squeeze function, barrel roll feature, and Find My support. The iPad Pro is thinner and lighter, with the camera now in landscape orientation for better video calls. I'll be using this as my laptop replacement and have lots of content planned, so subscribe for more iPad updates.

Got a 1TB, Cellular/Wi-Fi model with the new keyboard. iPad OS needs lots of improvement though
What improvements are you hoping for?
Multi-tasking. Look at what’s possible with Android across the board. All areas offer more capabilities and flexibility. Apple has fallen behind and doesn’t seem to care anymore

yeh we need some changes to happen no doubt. I just want to see a better files app mainly, and then anything else is just a nice add on
@@ConorButkovic files needs an overhaul big time, my phone (15 pm) locks up every time I plug in external ssd

I got my 11 inch pro delivered this morning. I was debating between the 13” Air and this one. I made the right choice. Very pleased.

I use my iPad Pro primarily as a portable device and, oftentimes, as a tablet (i.e. working from the iPad on the go without a keyboard). In that context, thin means lighter - which, with the 13”, is very, very welcome. I don’t need more battery life, because 10 hours and a plug socket is more than acceptable, imo.
That is a fair point, when I’m holding the iPad I definitely appreciate how thin and light it is… I’m just not too sure it’s better than some extra battery life but yes, 10 hours is still a good amount
Great review, I just picked up the 11 inch to replace my MacBook Pro (I have a Mac Mini and Studio Display and figured I didn’t need 2 Mac’s but definitely needed a “laptop”. Where did you get that little Macintosh model on your desk? I love it!
thats exactly how I'm using it! I got my Mac Studio as my desktop and the iPad Pro as my laptop! the mini Mac is from the brand "RayCue" its actually a docking station!
I have last years iPad Pro, don’t need to buy the new one at all, but that silver Magic Keyboard, looks just soooo good! 😂 ill try not to fall for it.

thankfully mine was kinda old now which makes it okay to upgrade (that's what I keep telling myself lol) but the M2 is still an unbelievably powerful iPad no question
I was going to get the 11” because my m1 12.9” was too big and bulky but I got the 13” and it’s significantly better as a tablet.
The shrinking and the weight reduction definitely help make the 13 inch an easier tablet, especially when holding it
Can we use this for coding and software development?
You can program with any text editor and you can do that even on a phone. Is there an IDE for iPad? I think not and that seems criminal to me that having a CHIP with the capacity of an M4, M2 or an M1, the IPAD operating system that does not have the capacity to take advantage of it, is like buying a LAMBO at the price of a LAMBO, LIMITED TO TAKING THE CHILDREN TO SCHOOL.
software develop is practically dead on iPads. the OS is way too limiting

I wouldn't trust an iPad for dev work because there is always gonna be little things the iPad can't do in comparison to a full fledged Mac or PC... I would suggest a MacBook Air if you are mainly doing any sort of development

i personally wish the apple pencil could do more. just seeing what samsung does with their Spen features. the pencil could have used a real refresh, and it was kind of a dud.
I'm in the same boat. I think the Apple Pencil Pro is almost peak stylus but cold use just a couple of things to really make it perfect...but then again, thats how Apple is gonna make us upgrade next generation lol
Thinner and lighter iPad 13” makes a difference for me because with the Magic Keyboard or Logitech Combo Touch the overall thickness and weight is on par with a 13” MacBook Air.
Much prefer traveling with an iPad over a MacBook.

The only minute thing really missed is that Apple won't update their photo engine to support Sony A7CR RAW files. If they did, I could actually replace my MacBook with this.
This truly is one of the most frustrating things I’ve ever experienced and I really hope Apple fixes this soon… I just switched over to Sony last year and it’s been such a bottleneck for me not being able to import photos
How’s the battery life?
Battery life has been basically the same as previous generations. Depending on the task it can even be a bit better thanks to the new OLED display
Can't do it. Too hard to adapt my workflow to the iPadOS. It will forever be a companion, and not a main device.
According to Boger [VP of iPad and Mac Marketing), Apple sees the iPad Pro and Mac as devices that are meant to be used alongside one another. "We don't see them as competing devices," he said. "We see them as complementary devices." While the iPad is a "touch-first device," the Mac is designed for "indirect manipulation," with a mouse or keyboard, which is a point that Apple has reiterated several times over the years.
yeah I don't think these two will ever be competing against each other. I think the iPad will always have a "different" way of getting stuff done, while the Mac just works in a streamlined manor
@@ConorButkovic The iPad to me will always be an extension of the Mac, I love it for the Continuity features and Sidecar for a second display on the go.

Tandem OLED has been around since 2019. It was first developed by LG and shipped mainly for vehicles and their TVs.
I'm still waiting for a better OS for my M1 iPad pro. At least a better file management.
I hope in WWDC we will get some AI features coming to all M1 pros.
yes good point! I just watch SnazzyLabs video where he talk about it and I had no idea this has been a thing for a while. But yes iPadOS needs a better file manager, that's been my biggest problem with it for years!
An Ipad will never replace a laptop and this Ipad is as much expensive as a macbook. So 95% of users do not need an Ipad Pro
I think the iPad could be a laptop alternative/replacement... just like how the original laptop was supposed to be a desktop alternative/replacement but it took time
