Foundation is a grid-less, laidback medieval city-building game with a focus on organic development, monument construction and resource management.
As the newly appointed lord or lady of a land still untouched and full of potential, you are given the opportunity to create a prosperous medieval settlement as you envision it, managing your resources and growing population, whilst being challenged by narrative events, quests and missions, from across the kingdom.
From very modest beginnings, build rudimentary workplaces, extract and store resources, establish trade routes, erect majestic monuments and before long... a bustling city will emerge in your new found lands!

Please don't take this in a negative way. I just find it very interesting. You mentioned being colorblind... and those red berry bushes really stand out... if you could only see them, I guess.
I'm also colourblind, but not in the same way as Jonti, but I can't see them at all. The red berries blend in with the green bushes so they are invisible to me. I could only see them when he went very close up to them.
Omg I was like I think those are berries but of course if he’s color blind he probably couldnt see them! I can’t believe the game doesn’t have a colorblind mode
It’s amazing how colour blindness is a spectrum. I have red green and I can’t make out the berries.

@@pine_tree_pixels Well I believe the dev team is small so it's not surprising.
Edit: I Googled it, and Polymorph Games (the game's developer and publisher) has fewer than 25 employees. So, QOL features such as a colorblind mode will likely take some time to implement, if at all.

Berry bushes got a huge revamp. They grow only next to or in the forest. They are really abundant but get exhausted and respawn. If you cut the forest then the berry bushes won’t regrow. So make sure you always have a forest near your gathering huts

I love this game so much. The way paths are organically made and how that changes your city layout will always be a WAY more interesting game mechanic than any other city builder.

With the color blind thing perhaps they should have an accessability option which highlights resources on screen with the name of it in bold black on white tooltip.
Apparently they do glow up a bit when placing gathering huts? It's not a huge deal though

I hope the developers were watching since obviously that needs to be looked at. You have quite extreme colour blindness, but I think anyone with red/green colour blindness would have trouble with those bushes.

AHH man I love foundation. I'm pretty sure we livestreamed it too, right? Great fun. Gotta get the paths around the walled fields right and all that jazz. Love it. ❤️
My only gripe, which remains, is the housing. Yes I love the free form build their own in a zone but, eventually I always found myself wanting to be able to plop things exactly where I wanted it.
Anyhoo, respect to the Devs. I hope they do really well off it.
We've covered it in all sorts of ways over the last half decade... crazy really!
I think you just have to lean into the randomness of the housing, if you try and fight it you're only gonna frustrate yourself I think
@Geekism oh it definitely frustrates me but I know I'm in the minority. There's just so many times when I just want to cram a house here or there but....yeah.
Anyways 1.0 looks awesome, I'm sure I'll pick it up again one night this week.

Uhm, version 1.0 was the early access release from 2019. What you are playing here is the full repease which is at least version 1.10
The version numbering for this game is something that's always irked me. EA versions should have been 0.1, 0.2 etc...
But on Steam and all their release material, they are referring to this full release as 1.0
If I'm not getting this, it's only because Civ7 is coming out in a week and a half. Although that 25% off is tempting....

@Geekism don't worry about it! I knew it wouldn't have been you. I actually had the same issue with another long video a few hours later from a different youtuber too. Hopefully it's not a new amount that UA-cam are trialling and was just a weird glitch.

Get checked for colour blindness. The red berries were very prominent, but you seemed to miss them.
Check your hearing? Lol jk... but I mentioned my colourblindness early in the video. I have tritonopia :D
