- The right wing parties and academicians in India are, now a days, after Mr Jawaharlal Nehru who was the first prime minister of the country hailed as the architect of modern India. He is portrayed as 'the first accused' and the principle reason behind many troubles and debacles the country encountered and currently suffering from.They say that Nehru committed many historic blunders in his 17 year long rule. Ravichandran looks into the major right wing allegations against Nehru in an objective fashion and restores him to the right place he belongs in the political history of India.

1. Jawaharlal Nehru was against military intervention in Nizam's Hyderabad. Sardar Patel argued in favour of military intervention. Nehru Nehru then accused Patel as "Communal" in a Cabinet meeting. Patel did not attend the Cabinet meetings for so many weeks. Only with the mediation of Governor General C. Rajagopalachari that a compromise between Nehru & Patel materialised.
2. When Sardar Patel died in Bombay, Nehru sent a note to Home Ministry ordering them to hand over the official car to Ministry of External Affairs. And ordered Home Ministry officials not to go to Bombay to attend the Patel's funeral. Patel's Secretary VP Menon arranged some air tickets for his officials. That was the attitude of Prime Minister Nehru towards his Home Minister Patel at the time of the death of the later.

Human knowledge is subjective and progressive in nature. What We Know Today May Not Be "the truth" Tomorrow. Mr. Ravichandran also falls prey into this. We need objective scrutiny of all knowledge which should be a constant process, in order to reach an objective conclusion. And we should be humble enough to admit the fact that we know only partially of anything and everything.
