*I started back when UA-cam first was created back in..2006 i think but didn't upload my first video until 2009 which gain 42K views and although i wasn't sure what that meant I just thought it was a cool video on something I liked to Do and so I uploaded video just because...then I didn't start getting REALLY into UA-cam until around 2017 and that's when I heard about Vidcon and ThinkMedia I attended Vidcon and THAT'S when I decided to start doing videos and all I needed was a niche and since I loved Tech That's what I did and just shared my passion for tech and what just flowed, and I went from 35 subs to almost 500 subs which I wasn't even expecting until next year BUT..I've learned alot in doing my channel, and one of those things was to stop trying to imitate other youtubers who were doing big things and Learned that I can't do that and Had to do what works for me in My way and I'm Grateful because I've learned alot. Congrats on your success. *
Life happens and changed drastically. I can’t even imagine the person I was 2 years ago. Embrace the change you have and move on with the creativity you got. Excited for new moves!
Absolutely loved hearing your journey brotha. It’s a shame that people may click off early on, because this whole video was true quality stuff. The big takeaways were that not only does it take thousands of hours of practice to get where you want to be (you shooting constantly throughout your life), but also the courage to follow your passion (you quitting jobs and moving to achieve why you want) and having your eyes open to acknowledge when an opportunity could really be beneficial for your career (your journey with the pro-athlete across the country). totally understand what you have been through, I didn't make a video in 1 year. I kept on deleting them because they were not "good enough". I also moved to one of the coolest places in Norway because I thought I needed something"new". But I still didn't create anything... I also agree with the fact that we a lot of times sacrifice our personality for the story, which just makes it more generic, but we think to ourselves that it a "better story". Its probably a problem we will face now and then. Thank you for opening up! Really helps:)) and good luck on your journey!

Hey Ryan, still remember when I've discovered you 2019 or so and then you suddenly stopped publishing videos. I was sad and you just made me happy :p I really feel you and I resonate with your story as I'm in the same place you were, when you had this job in Las Vegas. When you said that it helped you to not have the creative decisions and just work for a company, it made click for me. Dude I relate to this so much, this is so inspiring! I'm also 23 and I started making videos in 2016 while in college. It was so hard to create consistent content, and I'm only now realizing that my eye for perfection has only really hindered my growth not only on the platform but also as a person. I'm trying to move out to LA to pursue my passion for filmmaking, and it was such a breath of fresh air to hear you share similar experiences, and challenges. I haven't watched a video that I related to on so many levels, it was like you were saying my own thoughts. Thank you for making this, it was incredibly encouraging!

Stories like this need to be told thank you for beeing authentic. Many people want to speak on this but are afraid, we pheal the pressure of everything plus the world and begin to lose ourselves in the midst of our creation. It’s not easy and we all have a story one way or another and grow through phases and don’t always have it figured out so thank you for sharing it lightens the load

i wanted to get into filmmaking about two years ago... bought my first camera and had a lot of fun creating. I saw a lot of process that ive made and was proud of myself... 2020 hit me pretty hard. especially my motivation... i wasnt able to go outside to shoot. I now have a few videos that im working on but i cant find the motivation to finish them... this video was very inspirational! just a lot of positivity! Thanks!
hey man, new subscriber here! as a graduating digital-filmmaking student based in the Philippines, my current number 1 struggle in my passion is the lack of resources. i don't have a PC just yet to practice more when it comes to creatives, like editing, and my only DSLR gear isn't working very well. i enjoy this video of yours seeing your journey from 2016 up to the most recent. we're in the same age but you have already gone a long way and it's truly inspiring. it's a dream for me to move out from my family's home and live independently to enjoy and learn more about life, while building up my career at the same time. i believe it's a very difficult thing to undergo for someone who's just dreaming or starting, but your experience gave me the motivation to have the eagerness! i wish one day, first i would be able to invest for my starting filmmaking gears, will go through a lot of practicing and would finally have the courage to deal with a client just like what you've been through. keep on inspiring brother, i love your videos!

I've been following you since 2016, it's been amazing seeing how much you have changed and grown. I'm a lot older than you are, and I still haven't figured it out, but I haven't let that stop me from living my day to day life, and being happy (well content). Some day I may have an "ah-ha" moment and realize what I've been missing, but in the mean time, life goes on. Keep at it dude, you're doing great and definitely have a bright future ahead.

I really feel you and I resonate with your story as I'm in the same place you were, when you had this job in Las Vegas. When you said that it helped you to not have the creative decisions and just work for a company, it made click for me. Funny enough that I was working 2 years as a freelance marketer and content creator on my own thing, and now I look for a job because I feel the same. It feels like I need a break to adjust where I want to go or so.
However, thanks for the story and that you open up yourself, really appreciate that bro! 🙏

Dude I relate to this so much, this is so inspiring! I'm also 23 and I started making videos in 2016 while in college. It was so hard to create consistent content, and I'm only now realizing that my eye for perfection has only really hindered my growth not only on the platform but also as a person. I'm trying to move out to LA to pursue my passion for filmmaking, and it was such a breath of fresh air to hear you share similar experiences, and challenges. I haven't watched a video that I related to on so many levels, it was like you were saying my own thoughts. Thank you for making this, it was incredibly encouraging!

Yeah man. This is the video right here. I have found myself in a similar place. I recently quit a well paying full time job to pursue life as a cinematographer in LA. So far I’ve made ends meet and have gotten some really cool work along the way. It’s dope to see someone like you succeed in your career, definitely keeps me motivated. Stories like this need to be told thank you for beeing authentic. Many people want to speak on this but are afraid, we pheal the pressure of everything plus the world and begin to lose ourselves in the midst of our creation. It’s not easy and we all have a story one way or another and grow through phases and don’t always have it figured out so thank you for sharing it lightens the load
No one said life was gonna be easy or fair. We gotta stop thinking that and realize the truth. Life is going to be hard. you're going to fail. But what you do with those failures is the outcome of our lives ahead.

i wanted to get into filmmaking about two years ago... bought my first camera and had a lot of fun creating. I saw a lot of process that ive made and was proud of myself... 2020 hit me pretty hard. especially my motivation... i wasnt able to go outside to shoot. I now have a few videos that im working on but i cant find the motivation to finish them...

hey man, new subscriber here! as a graduating digital-filmmaking student based in the Philippines, my current number 1 struggle in my passion is the lack of resources. i don't have a PC just yet to practice more when it comes to creatives, like editing, and my only DSLR gear isn't working very well. i enjoy this video of yours seeing your journey from 2016 up to the most recent. we're in the same age but you have already gone a long way and it's truly inspiring. it's a dream for me to move out from my family's home and live independently to enjoy and learn more about life, while building up my career at the same time. i believe it's a very difficult thing to undergo for someone who's just dreaming or starting, but your experience gave me the motivation to have the eagerness! i wish one day, first i would be able to invest for my starting filmmaking gears, will go through a lot of practicing and would finally have the courage to deal with a client just like what you've been through. keep on inspiring brother, i love your videos!

I've been following you since 2016, it's been amazing seeing how much you have changed and grown. I'm a lot older than you are, and I still haven't figured it out, but I haven't let that stop me from living my day to day life, and being happy (well content). Some day I may have an "ah-ha" moment and realize what I've been missing, but in the mean time, life goes on. Keep at it dude, you're doing great and definitely have a bright future ahead.
