I've been noticing pain just above my knee. Your video explained the cause of it. I've been told I have bone one bone arthritis in both knees, degenerative discs in my back, a disc out of place in my back, arthritis in my back and a chipped bone in my right ankle (that I wear a brace for that is laced up and has velcro as well). I've noticed that it hurts to lift up my legs to get into cars and most especially SUVs. I wasn't understanding why though. If the issues were the back and the knees why was there difficulty in lifting my leg to get in and out of vehicles? And why is it difficult to go both up and down the stairs to my apartment? I've gone through physical therapy. And went as long as my insurance would allow. So I spend time on UA-cam looking for exercises and stretches that can help me. I'm in constant pain which is exhausting. And a video of yours was recommended to me a couple of months ago. So I've been watching them. I'm going to go ahead and subscribe though because you have great content that's very insightful and helpful. Thank you for that.
Thank you very much because I have extreme arthritis in my hips and this just might help and I'm a little overweight so the week stomach muscles could be my major issue with the hip flexor muscles
This may be unrelated, not sure.....but why is it that I can not sit like you are at the beginning of the video, without my knee of the underneath leg being WAY off the ground? Cross legged obviously is the same, with both knees way up. I have stretched and stretched for months, I’ve made good gains in areas like hamstrings....but for this...nothing. No improvement. Is it possible that my body structure is just incapable of sitting like this? Could this video help, or another of yours? Thanks
Certainly weak glutes can contribute to many issues. Try this video: Weak Glutes=Back Pain! (AND How To Fix It) ua-cam.com/video/liSV-H23h6A/v-deo.html
That’s partly how I got the idea:) I really wanted people to be able to have a tool to use on their own so I created the Derma Edge:) www.drkristieennis.com/derma-edge
Thank you! It might help to have someone perform the soft tissue techniques on you. I tell my patients As long as you can do the exercise safely and without pain it’s usually ok:) if you are not sure, definitely check with your doctor:)
A superb range of exercises for anyone spending too much time sitting.
Thank you!
These stretches really helped my right hip flexor that was pulled from sprinting two years ago! Easy to follow.

If your knee is coming off the ground, it sounds like tight hip flexor and quad. Definitely try the video!

I have a LARGE vibrator- impactor that I use for reflexology- and it's PERFECT for that-- has a big flat side with various edges...
Great!
Is it true that even ab workout
Love the art much obliged
You’re welcome!
I have tight hip flexors, which one is better bird dog or dead bug for tight hip flexors
They both may cause some hip flexor strain. Bird dog usually causes less strain.
@@drkristieennis thank you, do you have recommended exercise that doesn't strain tight hip flexors
Would you feel hip flexor tightness into the lower rib?
It’s possible. Often times hip flexors are tight and then causes tightness elsewhere too, like the abs.
@@drkristieennis thanks. I know that I'm tighter in the hip, groin and hip flexors. Is is okay to do a stretch a minute or longer?
@@darkoanton5 research on stretching changes all the time so I always tell my to listen to their bodies and go with what feels good:)
Lets get those flexors ready! 💪 🦵
Yes indeed!
Chronic. Mostly left hip. Scoliosis. Weak butt and skinny legs.
