    Hello,
    Love Dion,
So much for him being a wanderer,
he’s been married to same woman over 60 years

Ah - 1961! Brings back memories of my teenage years. Everley Bros, Roy Orbison, Del Shannon, Brenda Lee etc etc. Happy days!

I saw Dion in concert twice. He sounded great. I loved your reaction. This music was great to dance to and it was EVERYWHERE on the radio.

This song (and the entire album of 'The Wanderers' movie soundtrack) used to blast through the speakers of the bus, or ghettoblaster when traveling by train, whenever our firm traveled to away games throughout the country. Always a mood- booster!

Here in the States, and perhaps elsewhere, we have a saying about 'sowing one's wild oats'. I think song embodies that thought.

It truly was a much more innocent age. Love hearing and reminiscing.

In (1979) they made a movie titled "The Wanderers." It was about an Italian street gang from the Bronx in New York City. It was part comedy with real life issues regarding race and culture. The street gang the Wanderers took their name from the Dion and the Belmont's (1961) song "The Wanderer." When guys from the 50's & 60's had multiple girlfriends with none of them being their steady girl during their teenage years. Boys were players back then. Great reaction as always. I was one myself back then. Those were the days.

This was my song as a teenager in the late 70s and early 80s all the way through till my marriage in 1993. I was a Wanderer. I love this song. You two are a beautiful couple. I always enjoy your reactions to the music I grew up with. You’re doing a great job at keeping great music alive. Thank you so much.👏👏👏👏👏👏

Sounds odd maybe, but the late 50s,early 60s music has the best music to crank up a bit and clean the house or wash the car. Sing loud and happy :)

Now you must react to his song, “Run Around Sue.”

  • @jeffstumpf9129

His name was Dion DiMucci, but his stage name was just Dion. Maybe they told him that Italian last name was too exotic for Americans at the time. Although there plenty of successful performers of Italian heritage who made it big before he hit did.

Although it sounds so dated in its open misogyny, the song does provide insights into a sensitive boy trying to protect his heart. Clearly he doesn’t want a repeat of his experience with Rosie.
