I live in Kansas City and I remember when I was a child, my family and I would visit my grandma every year and we would stay at Navarre Beach, which is about an hour away from Pensacola, every year me and my dad would visit this museum, ah nostalgia.
Glad it brought back some good memories for you! That whole area is a great place to visit, and we’d like to go back to the museum when the Blue Angels are there practicing.
I was there some years ago, the planes were amazing as well as the wartime dioramas of the stores and life at the front line bases. The one thing that fascinated me was the planes they fished out of the Great Lakes and the condition of their equipment, so well preserved after all those years underwater.
It's a great experience, isn't it! They have done an amazing job of restoring and displaying the aircraft, and telling the stories of those who served in our armed forces. It's on our list to go back to someday. Glad you got to go!
Absolutely amazing museum, I’m super excited since I heard they were in talks with the navy to open the museum to the public, and it’s a museum I’ve always wanted to go to!
I live in Pensacola, and going to this museum will be an experience I will get to enjoy for years to come. Apparently they have a flight simulator on the top floor!
It’s a fantastic museum, and we hope to go through it again. And I’d love to try out that flight simulator! You’re fortunate to live in that area with all you have there.
Hi, I am from Brazil, and I really want to visit this place, actually I am planing to do that in abril 2020 . Do You know if there's any B-29 or DC 3 , or even an another aircraft that took part in the second world war? Thanks a lot for sharing this video, I really appreciate.
They do have F4F Wildcats, F6F Hellcats, and F7F Tigercats and some other WW ll planes, but don’t think they have a B-29 or DC-3. There is so much to look at there, and a lot of information on the planes. It’s amazing to get such a close-up look at so many incredible aircraft. I’m sure you’ll enjoy your visit!
Found this museum quite by accident while driving the gulf coast from Mobile to the Keys. Spent hours wandering around this museum. Ever wonder why some of those aircraft are painted yellow? They're trainers.
No - I didn't know why those were painted yellow. Yeah, it's one of those museums that's right up my alley. I want to go again some day and spend more time there.
To be honest, I don’t remember! It was music that UA-cam provided for creators to use in their videos for free. I’ll go back and see if I can find the title of it for you!
@@GmaGpaAdventures thank you! Hope you guys come again soon and can enjoy the many other historic stuff we have like the hundreds of batteries and forts!
I enjoy going there sice I live on the coast. There have been a few bad experiences checking in at the gate with a very rude military guy. By the way, driving an F-150 with grandchildren all below age of 13. My wife and I are elderly. That was disappointing.
No reason for them to be rude - don’t understand why some people act that way. They should be able to do their job and be professional without the negativity. And good for you for taking the grandkids there - it’s an amazing museum and very educational for them!
@@joinjen3854 Not with grandchildren in the car. Perhaps if the U.S. Military would apply this crappy attitude overseas they wouldn't lose wars like Afghanistan, Iraq, and Vietnam.
@@Nastyfinger1444 if you are not military or a veteran then you do not have a right to be on a military base. Perhaps the issue was your attitude and bratty children. My dad worked there for many years as director of museum exhibits. He retired shortly after hangar bay one building was opened.
That’s awesome! I’m sure that was a very rewarding job, and we thank him for the work he did there.
I have been there many times , a wonderful experience, have watched Blue Angles since the 1950 s
We hope to go again - it was great! I grew up wanting to be a pilot, and I idolized the Blue Angels. I guess I still do!
