The world is a big beautiful place. As long you respect the culture in which you visit you should be perfectly fine. I always get the same question from my American friends…. “Weren’t you scared?” SMH!!!! I would say do your research before going to Somalia overall it’s good country but they are building now after being in a civil war for 20 years and a fight with neighboring country of Ethiopia so for now it’s safe since UN took the weapons sale blockade since it’s safe now they can buy weapons, tanks,fighter jets and more other weapons and can keep themselves safe from terrorists groups since they have democratic government but they recently discovered a lot of oil on their offshore land so they will get a lot of money and their economy will rise

Am I to view Somali as a tribe and not a nationality? But, isn’t Somali a nationality than a tribe? Does Somalia not have tribes? If they do, then why not use those tribe names and be Kenyan? I find there’s something schizophrenic about Somalis and their identity. Of course, I’m referencing the insistence of some in the Somali community around the world claiming they are Arab and not African. This is despite DNA showing them to be as Arabic as an average person in Zambia or Malawi (places with little Arab contact). Speaking Arabic does not make you an Arab. But that’s a story for another day.
