“The doctor of the future will give no medicine, but will instruct his patients in care of the human frame, in diet, and in the cause and prevention of disease.” - Thomas Edison

I wish I had known about some of these exercises years ago. What a wonderful physical therapist for Ataxia patients!

As someone that suffers from ataxia and has grown up seeing different stages of the disease in my own family, that patient in the video doesn't have a problem with balance.

I think it's meant to be for educational purposes for techniques. I just looked up their channel and it seems like they are students. Sometimes programs will have their students upload demos/assignments online as their requirement.

All to often healthcare professionals with good clear intentions of providing to the best of their knowledge, a video that not only may help the sufferer but also help other healthcare professionals gain either insight or use as an aid in their own further education. This said, the intentions are good , however for a sufferer their loved ones and family viewing these valuable and informative videos, it angers many to see that professional using a college or friend as an active participant instead of someone with the real condition that these videos are directed towards helping . Hope this comment helps change as inclusion is vital to gain their respect and positive comments

A model demonstrating the procedure without symptoms is useful for demonstrating placement. Including a patient with gait ataxia would beneficial for everyone

This is actually a very helpful videos for techniques. In PT school, we practiced on each other to demonstrate techniques. Students don't often have access to certain patients especially with neurological problems like ataxia. Also, as students with no professional license yet, it can be dangerous to demonstrate on actual patients especially in the case of ataxia where there is high risk of falls.

It would be so much better if the physical therapist would address her client by her Name and talk to her because she is a person and she is alive.

The therapist is sitting on a rolling stool while the patient with trunk instability and chance of falling walks about. I AM not returning for a second visit!

Made me feel more dizzy and wobbly just watching! I would say , although I am sire your you are right about the person she is using, I would say , never. Say whether someone does or doesn’t have ataxia just by watching a video. There are many types of ataxia, and not all may be instantly obvious just by observing. They can still be very distressing to the person who has them .
