I had a paper route at 10, rode my bike everywhere from dawn to dusk, no cell phones, BB gun wars at abandoned internment camp, fishing, hunting, bowling, arcades, football & basketball games, mowed grass for old ladies on my paper route, shoveled snow, climbed cranes and phone towers, jumped off bridges, jumped trains, picked up bottles and cans to cash in for movies or arcades, always on the hustle, it was a great time to be alive .. Be home before the street lights came on or that was ur a$$!! We lived more life before puberty than a Y or Z does at 35

@@vanessakeller4543on doing it on my 1985 blue and yellow Huffy BMX!!!! 3 miles from St Paul MN, Harriet island steep double boat ramp on the Mississippi River, the people would give me a pop or candy bar for holding the boats, especially the single guys when he got the trailer, but Saturday early if you got the speed boat group going to beer can island, it would be hydrostream's and Alison's checkmate speed boats up to ten somedays, and a couple of guys would say before the beer and girls, iam giving the kid a ride , full speed, pass by the ramp the best time every who needs Disneyland.

I raised all 3 right, hard workers, honest, and don't take no BS.

No cell phones. No television. And you finished what was on your plate. Popcorn and fudge were treats we enjoyed from time to time but we didn't have dessert after every supper either. The next day, walk to school, or Saturdays we would go down to the river and hunt snakes or tadpoles. Sometimes big ol' bullfrog! When I was even younger, we would go out at night with flashlights and shine up nightcrawlers for fishing in the st. Joseph River! Where does that deputy get off saying it's child endangerment to let your kid walk to the store? I believe she's got a pretty durn good case for false arrest! I do hope she gets them into court to explain themselves! Then I want them to sue the pants off of that agency!!! They'll never learn unless they're forced to!

We walked to the store which was far away because we lived in the middle of nowhere. We were all over the place and our parents had no idea where we were. My mom used to tie notes to the dog because she knew he would find us.

I was born in 1970... we walked and rode our bikes everywhere bc we lived in the country. There was a little store about 2 miles away, and as long as I was with one of my older brothers, I could go there. That was BEFORE I turned 10 yrs old. (At 10 we moved into town 😔) I'm so glad I grew up in the 70's and 80's! 😅

Lets go!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️❤️🏹🎣🥳 THIS IS WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT… ^ some people get it… why is the world so ignorant ? i knew i wasnt the only one 😅 for god sakes as an outdoorsman growing up and current it has saved me alot in life from alot of obstacles, difficulties , demons etc. i believe tough people arent just physically tough 🧠 😅
EPHESIANS6:11 &PHILIPPIANS4:13 🐺🙏🏻 Tough mf’ers arent just born this way they are built really strong from tough things in so called” LIFE” kinda like built “FORD TOUGH” but it’s actually f*cking TOUGH
      CHEVYS ARE BETTER THOUGH😊

@Longneckmexican I get it. I'm not an outdoorsman... Just an 80's baby.
I too was watching my sister's and making them dinner when I was 8. I'd get my gma her smokes with nothing more than a sentence of "Millie sent me". Of course the reply was "tell your gma she needs to send a note". 😂
There should be no punishment for letting or teaching your kids independence. Especially when the the other outcome is your kid thinking they're tik tok famous and never moving out of the basement (because they think it's a right).
I never understood it but I appreciate the childhood I got. ❤️

Yep...we walked and rode our bikes to the store. We played in the rushing water on a low lying street after a good rain...with cars and all. We rode in the back of my daddy's GMC truck! We played hide and seek at various places on our block after dark. We stayed home from school by ourselves...no babysitters. Just be sure to lock the doors! We even drank out of the waterhose when we got thirsty and waited for the water to get cold in the Summer. We had our dogs off leash and most of them lived outside! We sat at the end of our block some nights just to hear the hippies in the park singing and playing guitar! Yeah...the good old days! This woman does deserve an award...she's just trying to raise her kid to have a little independence and a little freedom!

I was riding down to the turkey hill to get candy cigarettes when I was five years old. Why are they putting this woman in her poor kid through trauma? There are some real kids caught up in some horrible crap that they need to focus on.
