@@findot777 Minecraft was officially released in 2011, but the beta of the game started in 2009. While Terraria had began development in January of 2011. It's theoretically possible that Terraria would still exist without Minecraft but who knows.

This was likely used as a framework for terraria, the devs of terraria love zelda as well so they wanted to make a adventure sandbox game. Because I would presume if reddigit made smbx they would have a fascination with sandbox a more likely theory would you say?
i dont think i could even begin to imagine what my life or childhood would be like if minecraft never existed. My entire childhood of gaming, friendship, etc was heavily dependent on minecraft. excellent video as alway!
Minecraft might've also inspired programmers to become developers because it is a good game to challenge yourself to recreate. And also redstone plus command blocks too.

I definitely agree with you on your points, and you video is amazing as always. Honestly, most of my life in relation to games has been offline and single player. It wasn't until last year that I did online multiplayer (with a few extremely brief periods before-like twice). I guess in the sense of connections, most of my connections through Minecraft is UA-cam (how I found you, for instance). Don't really have friends, but have met a lot of surprisingly nice people (UA-cam and servers alike). Glad though it is an avenue through which many people have found friends-there's not a lot out there quite like it, and its certainly unique.
minecraft is so popular and world changing that if it didnt exist we might have a whole butterfly effect to the world ending, now is that probabal maybe not but still cool to think about
