Follows below Coco María's set list with timestamps. This time, only an artist is missing in my quadruple redundance search (Shazan, Soundhound, Google and Deezer's SongCatcher), as you can see below: 1) 0:16 "Samba de Sausalito" (Angel Gutierrez y su Órgano); 2) 3:55 "Son a Propulsión" (Juan Pablo Torres & Algo Nuevo); 3) 6:19 "Cantaré" (Aguaviva); 4) 9:00 "Moliendo Café" (Aldemaro y su Onda Nueva); 5) 11:25 "Mira" (Jimmy Salcedo y su Onda Tres); 6) 13:48 "Te Daré" (Carmen Flores); 7) 17:35 "Cuando Llegaré al Bohio" (I don't know what version is this and tried to identify the record, that has a central art with a capital letter A that reminds the one seen in the logo of the flying company Alitalia); 8) 19:56 "Muevete Con Las Fuerzas del Corazón" (FA-5); 9) 23:33 "Elvira (Remasterizado)" (Grupo Algo Nuevo); 10) 27:02 "Choca las Calderas" (Otto de Rojas); 11) 30:02 "Voy a Amarte Más" (Alma); 12) 33:08 "Chekere Que Son" (Irakere). As "Regina" (Sergio Y Estibaliz) had to be cut off by the 30' mark, follows where you can listen to it without copyright issues bothering: ua-cam.com/video/2OhqsXUhaRQ/v-deo.html
Was looking for morning tunes to start my day. Thank you for introducing me to latin funk just might be on of the best sets ive heard. Like this is my vibe!
The version of 'Cuando Llegaré al Bohio' which is seventh on Coco Maria's set is by Chano Scotty Y Su Combo Latino on the album 'Favoritos Bailables' (1966) on the Musicor label.
Carmen Flores - Te Dare❤ Corco Maria is in a great mood. I remember when the lockdowns begun and Maria made a playlist with her friend. I felt so sorry knowing how all this affected the lives of music artists like her. Love and peace to all.
Amazing to hear Kool & the Gang 'Chocolate Buttermilk' from 1970 and then Choca las Calderas by Otto de Rojas from 1976. And my understanding is it means something quite different but "chocolate" and "choco las" do echo each other in sound. Kool has GOT to be inspiration for Otto de Rojas.
This session is one of my favorites and I jam it from start to finish. Before, I would skip ahead to certain songs but I realize now that that was a mistake 😅 as this whole session is 🔥
Coco saved my dog from a fire once. It was a salsa class, above a bar on a little known border island of Florida. The bar owners had upset some powerful men - real Tommy Vercetti types. They assaulted the patrons with giant purple sticks, like pool noodles but less porous. One of them was smoking a cigar I had recently smuggled back from Cuba in my prison pocket. Like any given Florida night, the air was hot and heavy with humidity and smelled distinctly of B.O. mixed with a thousand unique regrets. What no one noticed, in between beatings and screaming, was the gasoline. Some snowbird, undoubtedly as high on bath salts as I wished I was, suddenly moaned out "omg I *love* calamari~!" and that's when the fireball removed the door from its frame and launched the pour tourist into the streets - and the loving purple sticks of our oppressors. I scooped up my dog, a hundred pound black labrador who has been my sole salsa companion ever since his vet fat shamed him - and then I saw her: Coco María, wrapped in the cool wet towel that is Latin Funk, trotting through the flames like Jesus upon the water. The fire balked and backed away; aware that for once it was not the danger, but rather in danger itself. She made eye contact with me then and I knew that should I move, even a centimeter, I would meet the shoe which ended my existence. With one out stretched hand, she took from me my dog - and with the other, she punched me like I was Houdini and asking for it. The last thing I remember, before the warm embrace of the flames engulfed me, was Coco María; my dog in hand, ascending to the heavens with an intense and deafening 432hz screeching out her mouth. My dog howled. I blacked out. The next day I awoke amongst the char and rubble, the fire having taken pity on me, leaving me scathed but spared. I never saw Coco María again, but she sends me pictures every now and then of my dog. He has become an incredible dancer.
Coco Maria, I enjoyed that first track by Exitos Con Angel Vol 2. The artist has a similar world style rhythm & Percussion as Carlos Santana back in the 60s and 70s. Do you mind playing some other tracks from that artist? I cant seem to locate any other playlist.
This was a perfect set to start my morning. Thank you very much! BTW , if anyone is searching, Te Dare is the B side of Con Un Nuevo Sol apparently released in Cuba.
Ey Coco Maria! Escucha "CANDOMBE" es un ritmo latinoamericano de Uruguay, que te va a encantar!! te invito a que lo sientas y conectes. Tiene una historia muy interesante tambien ♥
I wish I could find bands like these to go listen to live. Anyone have any suggestions for big bands like this that still make music? Upbeat funky and soulful music with a great rhythm section

@uklum I think she does more than just spinning discs, but I understand what you mean and I agree to some extent.
A beautiful atmospheric saturday night with your sounds. Greetings from Poland 😊
