If you want to save a little time. Simply take a well grown ZZ plant, remove the soil, separate all of the rhizomes by gently pulling them apart and place into one or two pots with new quick draining soil. One ZZ plant can be separated into 2-3 additional pots depending on the size of the mother plant. Then in a few weeks it will start to grow new shoots.
If you do it how this video illustrates, it will take more time because the plant will have much more work to do. If you do it the way I just suggested, the plant will have existing leaves, roots, and rhizomes to assist with new growth from the sun and nutrients.
This is the same as what Justin BentRails said, but I thought I'd add a little more details since I did this the other day. I separated a 20CM ZZ plant into two additional ones.

Don't make it so complicated, infact u can use d leaves itself to grow another 1..soak d leaves itself in the small glass w water then u can wait for it to have its roots..then u cn plant it to d pot..it will grow into a big plant.

You can use any standard compost once you mix in enough Perlite. I prefer to use a combination of Baby Bio, succulent compost and perlite. Once there is enough perlite, you won't have any rot issues at all. Without perlite, the soil will be too rich and cause problems.

Making something more complicated than it has to be. All you had to do was separate the tuberous rhizomes without hacking away all of the leaves. They would let the plant continue to photosynthesize the food and energy it needs to establish itself, rather than forcing it to expend what energy it has left to basically start over from scratch. Not to mention the cut leaves can also be rooted very easily and grown into whole new plants as well.
