For anyone on the fence on this expensive Soundwave purchase, I say do it!! I got mine a year ago from my wife when I turned 46. Been out of it for 30 years and couldn't do jack. Being over 200 lbs at the time, falling, landing awkwardly, re-learning hops, 180s, rock n rolls and so on. I've done big drops, bowl riding etc and not a thing has squeaked or even come close to breaking. If you want to buy something and not have to worry about changing stuff all the time, you buy this bike. Another equal complete if you want more choices is the WTP Envy and Battleship.
Thanks dude - I'm a married 44 year old who was ALSO out of it for 30 years. I just ordered this bike today, so it's good to know that I'll be getting my money's worth. Your comment inspires confidence and is greatly appreciated!
@@cd1615 I'm happy for you!! I've had it for over a year and still love it. You get WAY more than what you paid for this beautiful bike. Congradulations!!
The funny thing is I wanted to get back into bmx and actually bought a new 2022 GT performer heritage, but as soon as I saw this review I returned my GT performer instantly and got this instead, your review really got me intrigued by the Sunday Soundwave, can’t wait for it to arrive 🤞🏼
Hey man I watched your video I decided to buy the bike and as soon as I get the bike. I’ll meet you at Los Altos skatepark in ABQ so you can see the bike in person
That's going to be tough. People that own this bike, including myself are holding on to these. If anything, people are marking them up being that these bikes are in high demand. I can probably sell my Soundwave that I got a year ago for pretty much what I paid for it, especially with the mark up on them that happened this year. I recently sold a pair of used Odyssey Path Pro tires for the cost of new. Literally posted them on offer up and got 3 different buyers asking for them that same day. Maybe once the demand goes down....
I don't know where you are from dude but in the UK i have seen four of the 2020 models of these sell 2nd hand recently. Currently i know 2 that are on sale for around £600. I just haven't got that cash right now otherwise id have one :(
@@avidgamer5676 I wish we had deals like that here in Cali. I'd get a second one just to have it. Out here, bikes are in huge demand. Especially for the higher end stuff. I've been wanting a higher end WTP bike and can't find one. Shops don't even know when they'll be getting new stuff either. Plus, most people know what they have and want top dollar for it. As they should. Out here anyway. I personally wouldn't sell my Soundwave for $600-700 USD. Unless I was desperate, which thankfully I'm not. I'd wait for the right buyer and get the price I want.
@@LittleBigKid707b From what i gather a few of the sound waves have been reluctant sales from result of the lockdowns and starting work again. Im broke myself so unfortunately i still cant afford one lol. I had to settle for a hardly used WTP Nova for £140 just to get me riding. added a few parts, wtp bar ends, wtp 17m socket seat post, federal pivotal blue camo seat, Eclat front and back hub guards, Plan to ride it out for 6months until i can hopefully afford a decent upgrade for the frame forks and rims. Im liking WTP even for a entry bike it rides nice... plus im only pulling noob stuff currently.
@@avidgamer5676 I'm rooting for you and hope you can get the bike you want. My parents didn't have much money growing up and I too couldn't get any high quality bike. I still loved Bmx and rode whatever I can get my hands on then. Now as an adult I'm blessed to have a job that allows me to now buy whatever Bmx I want. When you're poor, you appreciate it more later when you're not. I'm 46 and still love Bmx as I did all those years ago. Good luck to you!!
Hi @dougsterbob I just recently got the Sunday sound wave cassette 2022 can I ask if I would like to install a gyro system which gyro should I go for ? Price is not an issue .
I would go with the originator of gyros. Odyssey. Plus your bike is a Sunday so you keep it authentic putting odyssey. Not to mention Odyssey is known for high quality parts
I really don't know too much about gyro's but i hear this one bit.ly/3mBELoU is solid. Everything odyssey makes is good and it will work on the bike. :) how are you liking the soundwave?
Great stuff!!! Can kink williams compete with the sound wave and envy? 23.4 lbs for sound wave brakeless. Willams($900) 26.9 lbs but remove 4 pegs and hub guards and brakes and you’re under 24 lbs too. Also colony premise ($600) 23.7 brakeless🤤 killer bike but not much aftermarket parts except tires are 110 psi.
Kink and Colony are decent, but they’re not on the level as the WTP or Sunday. Wtp and Sunday offer lifetime warranties on anything listed as aftermarket. No other companies in bmx do this
Same i have the sound wave im 5,7 and it really strong no flex to anything if you make sure everything is dialed it will last you til you buy a custom but its pricey
Thinking of buying the 2021 stolen Saint 24 , I haven't had a bike for 20 odd years just looking at the specs 100% chromoly frame and forks also double wall rims sounds decent ? Anyone have any thoughts?
I want a good quality bike I'm 5'3 age 17 lol and I'm getting into bmx but still can't do any tricks I just want one with double wall rims and good quality frame
You can throw in the Battleship into the mix also. All 3 have very very similar quality. High end frames and components on each bike. It's like saying a Ferarri and Porsche 911. Eclat and Odyssey are the only Bmx companies that have lifetime warranties on their parts and bikes and it will come down to which companies you like and want to support more. I grew up with Odyssey back in the 80s and went with the Soundwave.

W video.
just bought this bike tonight!
Could you make a video on best sounding hubs
The best sounding hubs are:
1. Freecoaster
2. Freecoaster
3. Freecoaster
Hey Doug could you pls cover the forgotten damned
I want a bike to sart with im 5,2 age 13 and i don't have a lot of money i like street dose anyone have a bike to recomend ?
Buy used my friend!
5 9 13 is this good for me I'm kinda beggener
What is the colour option ?
Classic white only.
I just got this bike and it only came with one hub guard. I was so p*****
You’d hope all the parts being odyssey aftermarket you’d expect a lifetime warranty on everything hoping my wheels are covered if anything
How much more can you ask for? You probably don't know how to do a bunny hop so nothing won't be braking 😂
Yeah i completely hate the free coaster on my sound wave 2021. Prior to this haven’t ridden bmx in 15 years.
When i get this bike all im gonna do switch out the stem and the headset.
The best deal is the Volume Pro Voyager XL for $995, better hurry there's only 1 left!
