That lead in Tone was Epic! Well Done! Review was excellent!
The latest firmware adds a Ribbon Mic, more mic blending options, and allows for 32 user IR's instead of 4.
Wow! I can see this unit making my dry old plexi a whole lotta fun!
This is really an excellent demo of this...bravo .
Tom, after that amazing Boss ad you did, I've been wondering if this review was coming. You're that man to do it. I've noticed, like the fractal and boss dd500, when you really like a product, your review of it is great
tuneable reactive load is super cool
I only want the attenuation of this device for playing at home.
I get the feeling we’re going to see some amazing gear over the next few years for making our 50/100w amps perfectly useable at home.
Tom, I know you can run stereo delay through DI, but with the 2 standard speaker out, can you run stereo delay? So, just 1 amp - tube expander - 2 speaker cabs. Mono amp signal, but panned left-right delay?
I would like to know if my waza-tae is multi-voltage, so i can use it overseas without a transformer? Can it take 220v as ac IN?
Looks like an amazing product for sure. Can you tell what's the voltage on it? Thanks!
The WAZA TAE's switchable Impedance 4 - 8 - 16 is a very important feature also. Many of us have several tube amps with different impedance speaker outs. This covers the full gamut.
No it doesn't. My Fender 59 Bassman has 2 Ohm speaker impedance. I tried running it at the 4 Ohm impedance and it sounded lousy, so I rewired the speakers to an 8 Ohm impedance which resulted in an even crappier sound. Fortunately I haven't wasted my money as I can use it with my Fender Chris Stapleton Princeton amp. But how come Boss failed to cover one of Fender's best known amps that is still in production. The tones from a Fender Bassman are legendry.
@@johnthelad I sympathize with your frustration. I was considering purchasing a Bassman head to use with the TAE until I did further research. The TAE online FAQ notes it is "not possible" to use the unit with a bass amplifier because "The reactive load of the WAZA Tube Amp Expander isn't compatible with the impedance characteristics of bass-amp speakers, and so it can't reproduce the authentic sound of a bass amp."
The sound is from the marshall cabinet in the whole sesion? Or when he use the computer the sound go out from there?
The hardware is superb with multiple connection options and the variable reactive load is the icing on the cake BUT…the software is very poor; a huge portion of the screen is unused and the parameter controls are tiny and unintuitive. I hope future firmware updates offer a better user experience. Boss could take a leaf out of UA’s book as far as that side of it is concerned. Otherwise, a fantastic piece of gear.
The oly thing I don't like is the software editor (compared to classic looking amp pictures as an editor etc) - boss could do better on this. On the other hand, does this always need a pc/laptop or maybe is there an app for mobile or tablets?
Because you said, you don't need another audio-interface.... but can you somehow record vocals with normal microphone in that device?
yes
I did a factory reset and ruined my sound.... what effects are you running with this.. mine has gone from awesome to a box of bees..... any thoughts on eq and comp settings?
did you figure it out?
Is it possible to run a Kemper head with no poweramp through a Waza tube AMP and use the Waza as a poweramp?
Yes. Just plug your Kemper into the effect loop return of the TAE
Is it possible to plug in an acoustic guitar and get a good acoustic guitar sound in a similar way that is possible with the Boss Katana?
Tony Palamara this is not a guitar amplifier. This is an attenuator for Guitar Tube Amps.
If you want an amp for acoustic check out the boss acoustic singer amps. Happy new years
Yes you can. Plug the acoustic into the return of the fx loop, switch the loop on and speaker out to your cab of choice.
Is it correct that your tube amp is going through a digital section the whole time even when not using effects? So your amp gets digital processing even if only using the attenuator?
Based on the diagram on top of the unit, the way I understand it is, it looks like it is.
So it is still analog dry-through (attenuated) and you can dial in the amount of digital effects??
i want them to release a stand alone section of their reactive loadbox portion

Dude loves exaggerated picking motions.
