One thing I never understood. While using attenuators and reactive loadboxes, can you still have your guitar make those sweet feedback sounds purposely? And why is that? Cheers

    • @Reltihliehlla
      @Reltihliehlla 5 років тому

So, does the attenuator can make a B type amplifier, sound as an AB type?

    • @rudiger1337

2 TATAs. Do cabinet ohms still have to match the amp ohms with this? The manual says the 2 speaker outs jacks are wired in parallel. So 8 ohm amp and 2 8 ohm cabinets are okay or would it need to still be a 4 ohm amp?

Always an interesting post. Thanks for sharing. Loved you rendition of Bark at the Moon btw. However, at £1200 a pop, I can't see these things flying off the shelves. The price would be more than prohibitive for most discernible working class guitarists and would probably only be picked up by your average weekend warrior rich kids.
I for one won't be shelling out £1200 just so I can play quiet in the bedroom and i seriously doubt many others will either. When one is performing at a gig, you're not going to need one, or at least, your amp will be loud enough to get your tone.

Best explanation of this powerful tool I've seen on YT! One question though -- the responsive load has 16 settings to simulate different cabs, ok, but you're connecting to a real 2x12 cabinet. So... doesn't that mean that you're getting some sort of frankenstein situation? Or is the point to try to match whatever cabinet you're connecting to to try keep things as real as possible?

Would you care to make a video on noise gates some time in the future? It is easy to understand what threshold is, but settings like decay and (or?) release are less straightforward. And if there is a way to use noise gate without completely killing sustain.

The reason I ask is because I use a Variac to quiet down my valve amp (Marhsall Haze 40, with voltage lowered between 89-91V), and many others have used them such as EVH, Randy Rhoads, etc,. Thanks.

I thought the attunation sounded good. But I wasn’t really sold on the direct out.
It would be cool if you did a direct comparison of direct verse non attenuated cab recording.

What’s your pedalboard looking like lately Colin? Might be a decent video to go through what it is now compared to 4 years ago
(As we hopefully can get gigging again soon)

Seriously pricey but loaded with features. Hopefully they will do a stripped down version like you suggest. Currently I'm using a Fryette Power Station 2. It does a great job, although without as many features, and costs half the price. I don't think anyone could have explained these topics as well as you did.

    Thanks a lot Colin!
Does it alter the wattage making it possible for you to use say a 100w on a single v30 for example?
Can I load my own IRs?

On the topic of load boxes and IR systems, could you do a video on what type of device a H&K Red Box is? I've been trying to wrap my head around it for a couple months, and I'm still confused. Is it a load box? A DI interface? A cabsim?
Hope you can help, and thanks in advance!

    Great video, helped alot!
I still have one question though:
I currently have a EBS TD600 Fafner amp in my home studio. Its a hybrid amp with a Tube in the Pre amp section but the power amp is Solid state(MOSFET). At least this is the way i have had it explained to me...
Would i need a load for this? or could i just slap the head in a rack and run the line out straight to my Scarlet 4i4 without having to have the cabinet connected?
    Would really appricate any feedback!

I use a wet/dry set up live, will this attenuate both amps or do I need, gulp... two of them..?

Hi, can you use the waza tae with an afd100 which already has an attenuator? The reason I ask is because I'd like to use an amp switcher with the tae.

If you leave it plugged in, is there an easy bypass to just use your amp and cab as normal? Do you have to disconnect the TAE to deactivate it?
