Aruban here, though I've lived a couple years abroad now for work. Best tip, which is also the most logical: food/meals are cheaper further inland, away from the touristy areas. The island is safe no matter where you go, and it's next to impossible to get lost because it's so small, so never fear about driving inland to visit the smaller towns and settlements.
Hi @enigmadrath1780 Thank you for these small but valuable hints. Is the first half of August a good time to visit Aruba? I would be grateful if you could give me some information on this.
Wow! Very nice video. Love it! ❤ In the process of planning a trip for my 60th b-day end of 2024. Wasn't sure where to go, but after watching your video. I can stop my search and head to Aruba 🇦🇼 a place I've always wanted to visit. Thank you for sharing 😊 🙏🏻.
Probably the best overall Aruba video! Really cool that you touched on all aspects including some local pricing ect. My wife & I are going for the 1st time in late April. Can't wait!!
We rented a jeep for 2 days last Oct. It was great. We drove all over at our own pace. Going again next month for our 5th time. It is truly our home away from home. Great video!
Hi Ricky. Well the video. I just went to the Island. But for us Latinos it is good to see your works with Spanish subtitles. Greetings Luis from Cali. Colombia.
Oh Ricki, you've done it again sooooo well!! I just LOVE your presentation, video footage and all of the information you narrate during your videos. My husband and I are lifelong fans of the two of you and always look forward to watching your next adventure on film. We now have put Aruba on our travel bucket list. Stay safe and savour every moment of your travels. Cheers, Jane
Hey Jane Thank you so much - I’m glad you enjoyed it. We really did love our time in Aruba and could have happily lived those days on repeat. Trying to keep improving and appreciate your kind words and support 🙏
Wow Great video Love it Aruba has been my home away from home for over 15 years You have truly captured in 3 weeks the most incredible footage in a 10 min video Maybe if you go back try and capture California lighthouse, Alta Vista church , Art in San Nicholas, Ayo Rock formation , Goldmine ruins That would be cool to see how you capture those amazing places that are part of Arubas history . Bravo great job 👏👏👏🌏🏝
Excellent video showcasing Aruba. My wife and I always stay at the Renaissance and love renting a car and driving all over the island and experiencing the true local culture.
Great video and informative as well don’t forget the tap water is very safe for drinking fill your your yeti’s and enjoy your days on the beach or whatever you have planned!Aruba … one happy island 🏝️ 🌴🌴🌴🍻
Went on the Jolly Pirates snorkeling tour. It was a great time! Highly recommend it! Didn’t make it to Baby Beach, oh well will have to go back next year!
Wow you're getting it dunn for sure man. As a fellow vlogger focused on clean, cinematic shots and tight edits, I am really impressed with your work! New sub and friendly competition LOL. Great stuff and keep it coming!
Yes! Aruba! Paradise on earth!! Been there several times and look forward to going again and again. Each time we go, we stay a little longer. Next time we go, I aim to stay a whole month. Glad you enjoyed that beautiful island.
A car is easy to organise - the company we used dropped the vehicle off and picked up from us right on time. Quick process. Roads are easy to drive. Parking was never a problem. If you are wanting to see a few places then that’s what I’d do.
@@LifeDunnDifferently i know what you mean, i recently received my written permission; my trip is soon...so i will see how the calls before and after the flights are
We’re about to go. Did you have any trouble getting your drone through customs? We want to bring ours, but recently had trouble bringing it into Mexico. I read online you’re supposed to ask permission to fly a day beforehand. Did you actually have to do that?
No trouble at all with customs but there’s a lot of effort to go through if you want to fly it legally… you need written permission and also to call air traffic control before and after each flight. They were very friendly and obliging but yeah, a fair bit of hassle. Have a good trip!
In this video, Papiamento (one of the 4 languages spoken in Aruba) is erroneously, disrespectfully and offensively described "kind of a mix between Dutch, Spanish and English." Papiamento is the NATIVE and OFFICIAL LANGUAGE of the peoples of Aruba, Bonaire and Curaçao; NOT a mixture!!! It is also one of the LANGUAGES of instruction in our schools. I am Aruban, and Papiamento is my NATIVE language. Of course, throughout its 500+ year history, Papiamento, much like every language in history (including English), has borrowed and continues to borrow words from several languages. English, for example, has borrowed words from COUNTLESS languages throughout its history, much more than Papiamento ever has, and therefore would be a BETTER candidate for being referred to as "kind of a mix" between a multiplicity of languages. Consider these common words in English: Alcohol, Cookie, Salary, Avocado, Bible, Essay and Ketchup. ALL of these words (and hundreds of thousands more) have been borrowed into English from many different languages. Please, English speakers, please STOP describing other people's languages as "a mix" or mixtures of other languages while you fail to equitably describe your own in the same way. That is Linguistic Imperialism! Thank you! - an Aruban Linguist
I apologise for offending you. Certainly not intended - my description was actually based on how many of the locals on Aruba described the language to me 🤔
Out the one-thousand positive things you could say about this video you choose to mention something you personally consider incorrect? This comment of the creator is the interpretation of an outsider. As someone who lives and works on the island(s) and speaks all the languages I have to say that your comments are disrespectfully and offensive to the creator of this video. He was a guest of Aruba and you just insulted a well respected guest. We locals have higher standards then that. I expected more from someone who describes himself as a "Aruban AfroLatino Dutchman". Be positive and be happy. My mom always told me that if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing
@@LifeDunnDifferently He could've just worded this differently and not be so unnecessarily aggressive. It is true that Papiamento is a full language and not just a mix of others. However, many locals will indeed say that either out of lack of knowledge or just to keep things short. Few people(especially those working in tourism), will want to go into thesis long answers every time the subject comes up. Same thing happens with the political status in relation to the Netherlands and the kingdom; people either simply don't understand the workings or give short and sometimes incorrect answers to keep it as simple and quick as possible.

I agree with almost all observations. We have been to Aruba 6 times, and it's a favorite.

What happened to the Costa Rica video?
Blessings!
Thank you!
Costa Rica is coming, I just really wanted to shoot and edit in real time while in the Caribbean and try a different style of video. 🙏
Would you recommend renting a private car and self drive the island for a cruise passenger? Great video and information!!
A car is easy to organise - the company we used dropped the vehicle off and picked up from us right on time. Quick process.
Roads are easy to drive. Parking was never a problem. If you are wanting to see a few places then that’s what I’d do.
Been twice and loved it, but it’s been 17 years…
I sure hope it’s the same as I remember?
If you go back and get the answer please let me know!
Great Video!! Did you need any permissions or clearances for the drone flights?
Thank you! Yeah it was a bit of a hassle - written permissions had to be organised in advance and then calls before and after each flight.
@@LifeDunnDifferently i know what you mean, i recently received my written permission; my trip is soon...so i will see how the calls before and after the flights are
They’re a good bunch of people at air traffic control and it’s easy enough… just an unfamiliar system and more effort than most places
What do you suggest for first time visitors too the country to do or things to see
Enjoy the beaches!

Next time ~> too Palm Beach area🏝️ Newer updated hotels & many shops 💲
Do you need a car for your entire stay or just rent for a day or two? What car rental company do you recommend?
We didn’t… We rented through Tropic Car Rental.
Are there any boats to Los roques?
I don't believe so
Hello 🥰
Is it windy ?
Yes, Aruba gets windy and I normally dislike windy days but found the breeze here to be pleasant.
