yeah, that should work fine. That is basically the same setup I am showing in the video. I believe ethernet cable is good for around 300 ft. without losing too much signal. So 75 should be just fine.
I am unsure on this. The only change that I made in the app was to turn off the WiFi so I could use a different router. I haven’t had any issues with the speeds being unstable, but it’s possibly that there are other settings. I’ve actually been really happy with my starlink. More so than I thought I would be. I expected to have issues with speed and down time, but it really has been pretty reliable.

Using this Ethernet adapter you can setup a second router. You can use both at the same time if you wish. The speeds with starlink very from day to day (at least for me) but I get the same speeds from both routers. So I don’t think it slows it down at all. I’m not sure about the latency. If you just want to use a different router and not use the starlink for WiFi. You can turn off the WiFi feature in the starlink setting. That is what I do to use my Linksys system instead.
It’s plug and play. Adding the Ethernet port doesn’t change anything with the router setting and when you plug it in and power the router back on the port automatically has signal.
If you don't bypass the starlink router you would have two routers close together. Does that affect the speed, I was going to do a mesh system do I need to bypass the starlink router? Thanks
If you are not going to be using the starlink router then I would switch it to bypass. But it will run both at the same time if you are wanting 2 for some reason. I tested the speed from the starlink router and from the other router that I connected through the Ethernet port and I got the same speed from each.
The bypass turns off the WiFi function of the starlink router. If you are wanting to still use the WiFi from the starlink router, leave that setting off. If you are using a different router like I did, then you may want to bypass to eliminate the signal.
well, i had to devices that were connected to my old internet provider and when i got Starlink and i noticed that same issue so what i did was connect my ethernet cable to the device and to my pc and restarted my devices and updated the Wi-Fi and that was it 😊
Yes. Plugging in the Ethernet adapter does not disable the WiFi from the router. The WiFi can be turned off in the setting on the starlink app. But, that operates independently of the ethernet adapter.
If you are looking for something to cap data, you shouldn't have to worry about it because starlink has unlimited data. If you are referring to privacy I am not much of an IT guy, so I don't really know how to encrypt the data so starlink doesn't know what is being sent and received, but it's probably possible. I have done some shorts in the past. They do help in generating new subscriber, but I felt the long form videos are more beneficial to the channel in the long run.
I’m not sure what avme5to is… but if you would like to have more than one Ethernet port, you need to used this adapter and then plug a switch or router into it. Then you will have multiple ports.
the ethernet port will run a second router without changing anything in the starlink settings. but if you are not wanting to use the starlink router than you can turn it to bypass so it doesn't emit a wifi signal.
I haven’t seen the gen 3 in person yet, but I believe it has built in Ethernet ports. I was told they have a cover over them. So if you are looking at the router and don’t see them, look for the removable cover.
If i connect a six way unmanaged switch to the starlink ethernet adapter can i still get both wifi signal from the starlink router and wired ethernet connections from the switch at SAME TIME.
Yes. You can. You shouldn’t have to change anything in the settings. Just plug it in and it should work like that. You only need to mess with the setting if you are wanting to turn the WiFi off.
That’s a great question. I’m not sure the answer…. I wanted to do the same thing, so I used the Ethernet adapter to connect to my Linksys mesh system that I already had set up. It saved me a couple hundred bucks over buying the starlink nodes.
The starlink router will continue to broadcast wifi even with the ethernet port attached unless you turn it off in the settings menu on the Starlink app.
Thanks for the info. I just ordered Starlink. I have Linksys router with 3 nodes. Do I set up Starlink system then after set up hook my Linksys then bypass through Starlink app. Or do I need to setup all equipment first including the Linksys routers. Not sure if there is a particular order to set up.
I don’t think the order matters too much. I already had my Linksys and nodes set up with my previous service. So I set up the starlink on its own first. Then plugged in the Ethernet adapter. Then plugged the Linksys into it and after I made sure that worked I bypassed the starlink router in the app. But if you don’t have your nodes and stuff all set up already then you may need to do the starlink first so the Linksys has the ability to update and what not. I don’t think it matters.
Yes. The WiFi from the router stays active unless you turn it off (to bypass) in the starlink app settings. You can use both the Ethernet port and the WiFi router.
If you are doing like I did and using the Ethernet port to bypass the starlink router and use a different one. Then the Ethernet cable will run from the starlink Ethernet port to the port in the back of your other router. This will be the one port on the back that looks different then the rest. It’s typically the one on the left. It can be a different color than the rest and it is sometimes labeled differently (like “internet”). All of the rest of the ports will look the same and should be labeled 1,2,3,4. You will still have the starlink IP address. The wireless access can be turned off in the setting on the starlink app that you used for the initial setup. However, if you leave it on it doesn’t really affect anything. There will just be 2 WiFi signals instead of 1 which can be confusing when connecting devices.
Does the original Starlink router still emit signal with the ethernet adapter plugged in, or would I need to buy a ethernet splitter and two ethernet cables in to 2 different routers for signal one in the house and further away outhouse?
With the Ethernet adapter attached, the starlink router will still emit WiFi signal the same as it does without it. Unless you go into the app and switch it to bypass in the settings.
Sure. You would need to run an Ethernet cord from the starlink Ethernet adapter up to the second floor where you want to have the second router. When you attach the Ethernet adapter, that does not disable the WiFi on the starlink router. So you can use both.
And please can I ask, I live in the UK but I want to buy the starlink in UK to be taken to Nigeria for use permanently. Will it work directly in Nigeria considering that I bought and shipped it to my address in London?
I would like to see you check the speeds, because I did this and only get 5 to 7 mbps on the 3rd party routers while I get over 150mbps if I connect my device directly to the starlink WiFi
Your comment had me curious, so I just ran several speed tests with each router. Keep in mind that I am running a Starlink RV set up (same hardware, but cost more and they ratchet the speeds down) because Starlink has never approved me to get a home setup where i live. With each router the speeds varied quite a bit. Consistently they fell between 30-50 mbps on both the starlink and the secondary router. Each router did have a couple of fast times though where they would spike. The highest speed that I pulled down on all of the tests came in at 103 Mbps and it was actually through the secondary router (Linksys). So, my conclution would be that the Ethernet adapter doesn't seem to be slowing down the service for me. you may be getting a bottle neck somewhere. If you tried a couple of different routers and had the same result, did you try a different Ethernet cable? If the cable is damaged or old it could possibly slow it down. The other possibility is that they sent you a bad Ethernet adapter, and you could contact starlink to try to exchange it. For anyone reading this that hasn't already purchased one, they are available on amazon now! Purchasing there would make it far easier for exchanges and returns should there be an issue. You can find them here, amzn.to/3LPuQd3
Thank you for the video . I'm wondering . Are we able to have like multiple routers with different SSID ? We have a use case , we require internet for rural area but we have different companies . Therefore we want to provide different SSID for them at their house post in the rural area. So 1 Starlink -> 4 Routers - > 4 Companies
yes, there is a "bypass starlink Wifi router" option in the setting on the starlink app. I believe that will turn off the wifi and then you will only have the Ethernet port active.
yeah, they started selling them on Amazon not long after I made the video. I put a link for them in the description of the video. If you buy it on amazon, you will get it a lot faster. Plus if it has a problem it's easier to send it back and exchange it.
I’ve never tried it from a PC. But this is what google told me “You can also set up Starlink from a computer without the app by going to, dishy.starlink.com/ or 192.168.100.1/ on your browser.”
You can use a separate router like I did in the video, or you can use what is called a “switch” which splits one Ethernet connection into several (it’s like a router, without the WiFi signal. They are pretty cheap)
I think the cord on the device that connects to the router is about 3 ft. But I don’t think it came with an Ethernet cable. It can use whatever length you have.
The WiFi on the starlink router will continue to run even with the Ethernet adapter connected. However, if you wish to turn it off, it can be turned off in the setting in the starlink app. I believe the century link that you are talking about is a modem router combo… if that is correct, then it probably won’t work. You would need just a router. If there is a way to bypass the modem function then maybe it would work. But I’ve never actually seen one. So I can’t be sure. Sorry
I need to run to VOIP phones in addition to my usual laptops and cell phones. Better to get 2 VOIP phones or to use my 2 port Vonage Box which probably needs the Ethernet jack?
If you have multiple devices that need Ethernet ports. You can use the starlink Ethernet adapter just as I did in the video and plug into it either a router or just an Ethernet port switch. This may be what you are talking about by using the Vintage box.
You have to power them both because the starlink one powers the dish. But you can turn the WiFi off in the app setting if you don’t want to use the starlink one as your router.
As far as I know the one on amazon is the same, and if you order there, you will get it much faster than from starlink. plus, if it has a problem, it is easier to return it to amazon.
Unfortunately, The Ethernet adapter must be purchased separately. It is available on the starlink website. I put a link in the video description to make it easier to find.
I am unable to answer this. I live in an area where starlink isn’t available yet. So I use an RV unit on my house. Since starlink says “it’s not available in my area” they ratchet the speed back. So I only get about 20-25 mb/s anyway. However, I don’t notice a slower speed with the Ethernet.
You just need the one port from starlink. Then you can plug in any “switch” or router that will give you multiple ports. Just as I did in the video. By plugging in my Linksys router I now have 4 or 5 ports.
Do you still need the starlink router if you add the ethernet adapter straight from the dish? Do you think your standard telstra modem will work with this? And do you know if you can turn off the wifi on the router once I connected the ethernet instead? Thanks!
You will still need to have the starlink router, because that is what powers the dish. With the Ethernet port you can use any router you want like I did in the video, but you still need to have the starlink one. There is not a way to physically turn off the WiFi on the router. I looked through the settings on the app. There is a “bypass starlink WiFi router” that you can enable. And that may do it. But I am unsure.
Could anyone please confirm if a unmanaged 6 way switch was connected to the starlink ethernet adapter the same way in the video that the starlink wifi router will continue to give wifi connection and the switch will give wired ethernet access both working at same time, Thanks.
Yes. I believe so. The mesh nodes have a port to connect the Ethernet adapter. Here again, it would have been nice if they just included an Ethernet port on the thing so you didn’t have to buy a separate adapter.
Hi, have you experienced any lack of signal through the adaptor? I follow these steps but cant get any cable connection to any device to work through it…
Did the external router gets the range of the W-fi better than the Starlink router? Cause im struggling with the 2000 sq ft. range of the starlink standard router :/
Yes! This is the main reason that I wanted the Ethernet port. My house is very spread out and I already had it set up with repeater nodes tied to my old router. So by connecting the old router through the starlink Ethernet port I get to use the wireless mesh setup that i previously used. If you don’t already have another router that you are wanting to use, starlink does sell range extender nodes for their router on their website. Which might be a cheaper route. Since I already had all of that, using my existing was way cheaper.
Would it be possible to connect a switch to the dish and then connect multiple routers to the switch? By possible I mean, does Starlink has something (legal) against it? and would it work without problems?
I haven’t tried it, but I think it should work. Plug the Ethernet adapter into the starlink router like I did in the video. Then plug the switch into that. Then you could plug in multiple routers. The issue that I could see would be possible speed issues. Like if you are trying to run several homes off of one dish it may get bogged down.
@Rosco Reviews The prices are higher than getting them directly from Starlink, but at least they aren't as high as the price gouging on Ebay, and you can get them within days rather than weeks. It refreshed my memory, and I was able to get it working in minutes. Thank you! You've just gained another subscriber!
Hmm. You are the first one I’ve heard say that. Without looking at it, I would have no idea what the issue is. I would try to reach out to starlink. But it’s possible that you got a bad adapter.
This has apparently been a common issue with some starlink routers. You can access the router setting while hard lined into it at this address 192.168.100.1 If it wont let you change anything, you can reset it to factory settings by giving it 3 power blinks (cycle the powers on and off 3 times quickly). Unfortunately, starlink didn’t include a reset button. I hope this was helpful.
I would like to connect my laptop to starlink to remove the strong wi fi electromagnetic radiation in my very tiny house. I have the starlink ethernet adapter. Can someone help? This seems to still involve wifi radition, unless I'm missing something. Thank you!
Turning on the bypass may turn off the starlink WiFi. But the Ethernet port works while the starlink WiFi is running. I left mine on. But it may waste some power running. So I may try tuning the bypass on and see if it changes anything.
Hello Dear Rosco I'm going to ask you for help with a really vital issue. I’m sorry, I’m not sure exactly what you mean. You have to use the starlink router because it is what powers the dish. You can turn the WiFi off on the starlink router via the app. Then use the Ethernet port to run the internet through whatever hardware you wish to use to distribute the internet signal. To my knowledge, this is the only way to gain internet access without using the starlink router’s WiFi signal. I’m not sure if this answered you question though. Sorry :-/
@@RoscoReviews I got it. I factory reset the wifi then during setup you can bypass WiFi. Then unplugged the wifi and went directly to my firewall. This is for a business.
I agree. They really should have just included the port on the back of the router like every other router on the market. But I’m at least glad that they did create an add on. Without it I probably would have to find a different internet option.
Using the starlink app, you can bypass/disable the starlink WiFi if you wish. But the Ethernet port works when you plug it in without doing anything to the starlink router.

I agree that they should have included the Ethernet port in the router. I think that was a mistake on space-x’s part. However, starlink is revolutionizing internet for the people like me that live outside of cities. I only live 5 minutes outside of town, and the best internet I could get was about 3 mps. And it was about $100/month. Starlink is 10 times better than that and it’s the same price. I get where you are coming from though. Hard lined options are probably cheaper and faster if you have that as an option.
@@RoscoReviews Yeah I install satellite TV and satellite internet for a living. So believe me I know exactly what you mean.
Thanks

@@RoscoReviews Thanks will try it.
Do you need to turn on bypass mode on the Starlink?
The bypass turns off the WiFi function of the starlink router. If you are wanting to still use the WiFi from the starlink router, leave that setting off. If you are using a different router like I did, then you may want to bypass to eliminate the signal.
well, i had to devices that were connected to my old internet provider and when i got Starlink and i noticed that same issue so what i did was connect my ethernet cable to the device and to my pc and restarted my devices and updated the Wi-Fi and that was it 😊
Awesome! It should be pretty simple.
Can I hook up to the ethernet AND still have wifi for other users?
Yes. Plugging in the Ethernet adapter does not disable the WiFi from the router.
The WiFi can be turned off in the setting on the starlink app. But, that operates independently of the ethernet adapter.
Thanks for the clear, concise instructions.
Can you suggest what router can limit Data from Starlink... thanks..do some short video
They do help in generating new subscriber, but I felt the long form videos are more beneficial to the channel in the long run.
does it improve speed at all? im looking at making this purchase
From my experience, I he speed was exactly the same.
@@RoscoReviews thank you
Is there a way to be have more than one Ethernet cable available to use?
I’m not sure what avme5to is… but if you would like to have more than one Ethernet port, you need to used this adapter and then plug a switch or router into it. Then you will have multiple ports.
@@RoscoReviews yes that's what i was asking. Sorry about the weird word voice to text isn't my friend lol
Did you need to put the star link router in bridge mode so both devices are not running NAT?
the ethernet port will run a second router without changing anything in the starlink settings. but if you are not wanting to use the starlink router than you can turn it to bypass so it doesn't emit a wifi signal.
@@RoscoReviews awesome thanks
Does this work with the Gen 3?
I haven’t seen the gen 3 in person yet, but I believe it has built in Ethernet ports. I was told they have a cover over them. So if you are looking at the router and don’t see them, look for the removable cover.
Can you still use the starlink router with the external ethernet
Yes. Using the Ethernet adapter dose not turn off the WiFi function of the starlink router. Unless you bypass the WiFi function in the app settings.
@@RoscoReviews wait i heard you cant use both at the same time? So if you want to use a new router you have to bypass the starlink router right?
I was hoping to use the starlink wifi function + the external router for wired devices
Do you know if the router is compatible with other mesh systems or do I have to buy the starlink ones :/ cause those are pretty expensive
That’s a great question. I’m not sure the answer…. I wanted to do the same thing, so I used the Ethernet adapter to connect to my Linksys mesh system that I already had set up. It saved me a couple hundred bucks over buying the starlink nodes.
Dose the starlink router still broadcast? Are both networks up?
I don’t think it matters.
thank you for the quick reply
When installing the adapter does the WiFi continue to work and is useable along with the Ethernet?
Yes. The WiFi from the router stays active unless you turn it off (to bypass) in the starlink app settings.
You can use both the Ethernet port and the WiFi router.
Hi , witht an ethernet adaptor, is it possible to totally disable wifi with starlink ?
Yes. You should be able to select “bypass” in the settings on the app to turn off the WiFi.
@@RoscoReviews Thank You !
where do you plug the ethernet into you old router. what do about IP address, what do you do about wireless access on the starlink router.
Thanks. This really help.
No problem!
Can i use Starlink on the 1 floor and my own router on second floor ?
I become 1 internet from wi fi and this second from my own router ?
Sure. You would need to run an Ethernet cord from the starlink Ethernet adapter up to the second floor where you want to have the second router.
When you attach the Ethernet adapter, that does not disable the WiFi on the starlink router. So you can use both.
@@RoscoReviews Thanks a lot !

And please can I ask, I live in the UK but I want to buy the starlink in UK to be taken to Nigeria for use permanently.
Will it work directly in Nigeria considering that I bought and shipped it to my address in London?
I would definitely check with starlink before purchasing it. Traveling between countries might be an issue for them. I’m not sure.
You can find them here,

Thank you for the video .
I'm wondering . Are we able to have like multiple routers with different SSID ? We have a use case , we require internet for rural area but we have different companies . Therefore we want to provide different SSID for them at their house post in the rural area.
So 1 Starlink -> 4 Routers - > 4 Companies
You should be able to use the Ethernet adapter to run a switch to power 4 routers. I’m not sure how the SSIDs work though.
Am I able to turn off the wifi and only use the ethernet capability?
yes, there is a "bypass starlink Wifi router" option in the setting on the starlink app. I believe that will turn off the wifi and then you will only have the Ethernet port active.
I just got my adapter on Amazon btw, so that must have changed in the last year.
yeah, they started selling them on Amazon not long after I made the video. I put a link for them in the description of the video. If you buy it on amazon, you will get it a lot faster. Plus if it has a problem it's easier to send it back and exchange it.
do you know how to get the app on you pc?
I’ve never tried it from a PC. But this is what google told me
“You can also set up Starlink from a computer without the app by going to, dishy.starlink.com/ or 192.168.100.1/ on your browser.”
@@RoscoReviews Those sites don't connect
So you need to buy the specific Starlink ethernet adaptor?
Yes. They are available on amazon now. You can find them here.
amzn.to/3L9p8AU
What color coding did you use for the Lan cable?
I believe the Ethernet cable that I used was yellow. But they come in a variety of colors.
Possible to add Ethernet connection as shown, while ALSO continuing to use Starlink router for wifi access?
Yes. When you add the Ethernet port, it doesn’t disable the WiFi. You can still use it as normal.
What if I need 2 of them? To connect 2 PCs
You can use a separate router like I did in the video, or you can use what is called a “switch” which splits one Ethernet connection into several (it’s like a router, without the WiFi signal. They are pretty cheap)
How long is the ethernet apdapter cable?
I think the cord on the device that connects to the router is about 3 ft. But I don’t think it came with an Ethernet cable. It can use whatever length you have.
@@RoscoReviews yeah I meant the adapter for the ethernet cable. Thank you
Would the CenturyLink C4000LZ work for this? Also will the wifi continue to work as normal?
The WiFi on the starlink router will continue to run even with the Ethernet adapter connected. However, if you wish to turn it off, it can be turned off in the setting in the starlink app.
I believe the century link that you are talking about is a modem router combo… if that is correct, then it probably won’t work. You would need just a router. If there is a way to bypass the modem function then maybe it would work. But I’ve never actually seen one. So I can’t be sure. Sorry
Thanks Rosco, very informative
No problem! Glad I could help :)
Great video! This is very helpful! Thanks 👍
No problem! Glad I could help :)
This may be what you are talking about by using the Vintage box.
may I ask if you power on both routers? the starlink router ang your home router?
You have to power them both because the starlink one powers the dish. But you can turn the WiFi off in the app setting if you don’t want to use the starlink one as your router.
Can you use both the starlink wifi and your own router at the same time? Or once you install the adaptor the starlink wifi router won't work?
The one off Amazon is it legit does it work??. Does it work with the Standard one?
As far as I know the one on amazon is the same, and if you order there, you will get it much faster than from starlink. plus, if it has a problem, it is easier to return it to amazon.
@RoscoReviews it's all good the kit i bought comes with the gen 3 router so i don't need the adapter now but thanks for help man
There is no free adapter when you buy a starlink router? Answer me please thanks in advance
Unfortunately, The Ethernet adapter must be purchased separately. It is available on the starlink website. I put a link in the video description to make it easier to find.
I understand the speeds are significantly slower going through the adaptor. (As low as 30-50 mb/s). Is this accurate?
I am unable to answer this. I live in an area where starlink isn’t available yet. So I use an RV unit on my house. Since starlink says “it’s not available in my area” they ratchet the speed back. So I only get about 20-25 mb/s anyway. However, I don’t notice a slower speed with the Ethernet.
can you daisy chain the dongles for multiple ethernet ports?
You just need the one port from starlink. Then you can plug in any “switch” or router that will give you multiple ports. Just as I did in the video. By plugging in my Linksys router I now have 4 or 5 ports.
Thanks for the review. Appreciate it 🙏
No problem! I’m glad it was helpful :)
@@RoscoReviews Thanks so much for getting back to me, I really appreciate it :) I might have to use a tin foil hat for it then to avoid the WIFI 😄
Could anyone please confirm if a unmanaged 6 way switch was connected to the starlink ethernet adapter the same way in the video that the starlink wifi router will continue to give wifi connection and the switch will give wired ethernet access both working at same time, Thanks.

Happy to help 😄
Does this work on a Starlink Mesh router and not just the main router?
Yes. I believe so. The mesh nodes have a port to connect the Ethernet adapter.
Here again, it would have been nice if they just included an Ethernet port on the thing so you didn’t have to buy a separate adapter.
@@RoscoReviews Yes, it worked with the Mesh Router.
Awesome!
Hi, have you experienced any lack of signal through the adaptor? I follow these steps but cant get any cable connection to any device to work through it…
I haven’t noticed any signal loss on mine. I use it to run a different router than the starling one, and it seems to run just as fast.
Hello Sir I got a question
how you don't make the router interfering each other ??
You can disable the WiFi on the starlink router in the starlink app. By selecting “bypass” in the settings.
so you cant have wifi and ethernet working at the same time??@@RoscoReviews
Do you get a static IP assigned when going with starlink?
I believe starlink residential customers have a dynamic IP. But if you need a static one, I think they offer that to business accounts.
@@RoscoReviews Thanks for the help. I appreciate it.
Amazon has all the accessories for starlink now.
Awesome! I had to go check. They do sell them now!
@Rosco Reviews The prices are higher than getting them directly from Starlink, but at least they aren't as high as the price gouging on Ebay, and you can get them within days rather than weeks.
Even though I've had my Starlink for over a year, I never hooked up the eithernet adapter. Your video popped up when I did a search on Google. It refreshed my memory, and I was able to get it working in minutes. Thank you! You've just gained another subscriber!

With this adapter is possible to add a Router in another Room?
Sure. But you would have to run an Ethernet cord from this into the other room.
I tried this but when I plugged the starlink router back it it won’t connect back to the internet
Hmm. You are the first one I’ve heard say that. Without looking at it, I would have no idea what the issue is. I would try to reach out to starlink. But it’s possible that you got a bad adapter.
Did you unplug the router before connecting the ethernet adapter?
Yes, I did. I unplugged everything. Then attached the adapter, and then plugged everything back in.
thank you bro
No problem. Happy to help :)
Any idea how to change the name of the Lan Network? I can change the wifi one, but I still get "STINKY" when the ethernet adapter is hooked up.
This has apparently been a common issue with some starlink routers. You can access the router setting while hard lined into it at this address
192.168.100.1
If it wont let you change anything, you can reset it to factory settings by giving it 3 power blinks (cycle the powers on and off 3 times quickly). Unfortunately, starlink didn’t include a reset button.
I hope this was helpful.
probably the name saved on the end device ie the computer your using
I would like to connect my laptop to starlink to remove the strong wi fi electromagnetic radiation in my very tiny house. I have the starlink ethernet adapter. Can someone help? This seems to still involve wifi radition, unless I'm missing something. Thank you!
You can turn off the WiFi signal in the starlink app. In the settings, change the WiFi to bypass.
Thank you.
No problem! Glad I could help :)
Don’t you have to turn the Bypass Starlink Router on in the advanced settings?
Turning on the bypass may turn off the starlink WiFi. But the Ethernet port works while the starlink WiFi is running.
I left mine on. But it may waste some power running. So I may try tuning the bypass on and see if it changes anything.
@@RoscoReviews I had to turn my Router to Bridge mode which worked, or alternatively the Starlink in Bypass

Hello Dear Rosco
I'm going to ask you for help with a really vital issue.
I need to reach Starlink customer service, I want to buy these products in wholesale, but I can't reach anyone on the internet and the products are so expensive that they have fallen into the black market.
Can you help with this?
I’m sorry. I don’t work for starlink or have any connections with them. I’m just a guy trying to help people.
I didn’t know that there was black market demand for starlink products. That’s interesting. The hardware is kind of pricy but I don’t know if starlink does wholesale deals.
can you bypass this and go straight into a firewall
The original dish had one built into the router, this is a way for them to squeeze more money out of people
I agree. They really should have just included the port on the back of the router like every other router on the market. But I’m at least glad that they did create an add on. Without it I probably would have to find a different internet option.
Do you need to make any changes within the Starlink router when adding your own router?
Using the starlink app, you can bypass/disable the starlink WiFi if you wish. But the Ethernet port works when you plug it in without doing anything to the starlink router.
Using the starlink app, you can bypass/disable the starlink WiFi if you wish. But the Ethernet port works when you plug it in without doing anything to the starlink router.
I didn't get an adapter. I used my old router and it works fine.
If you get the gen 3 router from starlink, then you won’t need an adapter because the new one has a built in Ethernet port. The Gen 2 didn’t have the Ethernet port.
Instead of your router, what if you just put in an ethernet switch? I want to ONLY use ethernet for my devices and NO WIFI.
Yes. You can absolutely use a switch and run all wired devices. The setup will be exacly the same as in the video.
@@RoscoReviews Thank you! I hear that the new 4 gen might lead to phasing out the ethernet option. I had better get the system before they phase it out!

its honestly such bs that they dont have ethernet ports on the starlink modem/ router a 50 $ router this is standard feature just got mine only to relise i need to buy another damn thing
Yep. I agree. This should have been a standard feature as it is with every other router on the market.
Why the hell do they not ship a router with at least one ethernet port?!!!
I agree! I think that was a mistake in starlink’s part. But at least there is a work around for it.
Yeah...

I still can’t believe that the router didn’t come with a port. But at least they make an add on. Just a way to make more money I suppose.
It's only $ 25.00
I think starlink may have lowered their price on some of the accessories.
@@RoscoReviews yeah just ordered it a day or two ago
The fact that this is even necessary is enough for me to steer clear. It tells me that they subscribe to Apples anti-consumer business model. You may not have other good options available to you but fortunately I do. No thanks.
I've had countless customers tell me about how the fiber that the local cable or phone company installed stops just down the road from them and how they can't get connected to it. That would really suck. Obviously I would have to deal with the fact that it doesn't come with a built-in switch (like it should) if that was the only solid choice I had. Glad you found something that's working well for you. That kind of thing is just a pet peeve of mine. I can still remember my reaction when the iPad first came out and I learned that it didn't include any USB ports. It's like... you have got to be freaking kidding me. That is absolutely ridiculous!
You didn't add a ethernet port to a startlink router. You redirected the startlink router to a different router. Wasted my time.
That is how I chose to use the ethernet port that I added. But you can use it for anything you like that requires an Ethernet port. Im sorry if that was confusing. You don’t have to use another router. But this is the only way to add an Ethernet port to a starlink router.
