This is Skynyrd's best song imo. It just leaves me with a sad feeling like the party is over. I'll love this song till I die. R.I.P the Lynyrd Skynyrd boys
Ironically Ronnie wrote this song because the party has just begun (he signed his big time record deal and his life had changed forever and would never be the same again and he knew it).
My favorite too. BUT, I love EVERY Skynyrd song ever recorded. They came to my hometown.....Birmingham, Sweet Home Alabama 6-7 times. And I was there faithfully every time. These Southern Boys will never be equaled. They were the best. I never went to see them again after the plane crash.......it just was not Lynyrd Skynyrd anymore. RIP boys. We still love you.✌️❤️🤘
In Heaven with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. One day we’ll be up there ready to meet them. Keep God in your heart, because Jesus is the only way to Heaven.
My husband passed at home on Hospice. It took hours for them to pick up his body. This was the first song I played as I was waiting on that awful Tuesday morning.
After I heard the news this morning of the death of Gary Rossington this is the first song I thought of. It's sad to see this album cover and know that all of them are gone now. I just want to say thank you to all of them for the music that has been the soundtrack of my life. Their music has seen me through it all. And their music will continue to have an important place in my life and my family's life as well. Rock on guys and thank you 💔🎶❤️🎸
Well said. I have lunch with an old friend around once a month. He grew up with Johnny Van Zant and played bass in his first band, The Austin Nichols Band. He texted me first thing when he heard the news. The band kept crisscrossing my life through the years. My wife heard their first album from a cassette tape when the band came to her girlfriend's apartment when she was visiting her, her friend was dating Gary Rossington at the time. Ronnie Van Zant told them that they had just finished their first album and wanted the girls to hear it. True story.
Not really but I did hook up with a girl and she asked if I could come back every Tuesday. I lost her number and when I went back there was people cleaning her house and I asked where she was and they told me to get the hell out of there. I've gone back a couple times and now there's someone else living there. She was smoking hot, but kind of sketchy and I like to tell myself that I just dodged a bullet. Maybe you did too?
Yea... thinking about a girl named Jenny. Miss her. Realizing what we once had, that's gone. Been months now, dated a lot, but... still miss her, think she'll always be the one I missed out on. Sucks.
My grandmother died right before my senior year. I was riding with my older sister to the funeral, about a 10 minute drive. This song came on the radio and my sister went silent. I could tell something was up. Then she said "I prayed that we would hear this song today." I'll never forget that moment. Every time this comes on I remember that. Call it a coincidence, I understand. To me, it's not.
@Sysum well the next time you're in a car with your sister on the way to a beloved family members funeral and she has a tear going down her face, be sure and tell her to stop crying and that nothing was listening to her that day.

Katie Hamilton here, using my husband's phone. Just saw your message here and felt the need to reach out. June 6th 1999 was when I lost my Mum, it was a Sunday not Tuesday, but obviously the dates are right next to each other which struck me. Bless you and just know that people are thinking of you, even strangers like myself. Please also take comfort in your unbreakable bond with your sibling, something I sadly lost forever once Mum left as she was the glue that held our family together and without her, my two brothers couldn't stay solid, my dad died in 2008, leaving me with nobody blood related that cared for me.....thankfully I have an angel of a Husband who has more than enough love to keep me afloat. Thinking of you and sending all the best from Katie and David Hamilton, Bonnie Scotland
Cream of the MF crop. Each song is an entirely different sound and Banger.. Even the stones seems to replicate a sound, Skynyrd was super unique kinda like Queen.
Sometimes when listening to this there is a part that sounds like it nearly brass band thing I gree with above comment it's there best song man blows me away then and now ...
I won't go as far as to say this is the best song ever written. However, I believe it is ONE of the best songs ever written. And it is certainly MY favorite song of all time. I told my daughters to bury me to this one. Ronnie Van Zant, just nobody could match his songwriting. He and Allen Collins wrote this, but somehow I really think of Gary Rossington when I hear it. I guess it's Gary's soulful solos, just beautiful. Ronnie was a genius, the way he told the story of leaving his woman, and her needing to be free, around his actual divorce (which happened on a Tuesday). Using Tuesday as a metaphor.... This 22 year old kid came up with this! Just absolutely incredible. RIP to all of the incredible musicians that made up the most incredible band ever, the mighty Lynyrd Skynyrd band.
The good songs do that especially Skynard and Pink Floyd. It's internal relief but a sense of sadness at the same time. Glad your hear listening in 2024!
Rest in peace Gary. So long and thanks for all the good vibes man. This and Simple Man are my favourite Skynyrd songs. I'm sure you guys have yours and you'd get no argument from me. They were a very special band, reached a lot of people.
How come I always cry when I listen to this?I don't know anybody called Tuesday and all my Tuesdays have been good🤷♂️Tears of joy I guess. What a tune✌️❤️👍
This song slayed me the first time I ever heard it as a child. It slays me today. And when the string section kicks in it elevates the situation into super slay mode.
When you hear people say "they dont make them like they used to". This is what they mean. This is real music. Hell of a guitar, hell of a voice, hell of a song, and one hell of a band. RIP Lynard Skynard.
lost my wife in her sleep on a beautiful Tuesday summer morning .......... this does touch my soul......Glad I got to see Skynyrd a few times in the 70's
Remembering Ronnie Zant born on January 15, 1948. He was an American singer, best known as the original lead vocalist, primary lyricist and a founding member of the southern rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd. The band's rise to prominence began in 1973 with the release of their debut album, (Pronounced 'Lĕh-'nérd 'Skin-'nérd), which had a string of hits that included "I Ain't the One", "Tuesday's Gone", "Gimme Three Steps", "Simple Man", and what became their signature, "Free Bird", later dedicated to the late Duane Allman of The Allman Brothers Band. - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ronnie_Van_Zant
It’s really weird when you go to Macon and stand in front of Gregg and Duane, and Berry’s grave. So much talent gone. Love me southern rock. Born and bred a southern boy.
The melody on this song is incredibly good, one of the best songs I know. Especially the piano playing from around 3:20, and especially when the second playing from 3:55 kicks in. Absolutely magically good. These guys could make good music, good melodies and good lyrics.
@@WorshipGuitarist4life17 Yes, billy powell played incredibly well there. Something special with exactly that playing and that transition. Never gets bored, is just as magically good every time....
Definitely one of the best songs in the entire Southern Rock genre. Of course, the guitar work is epic and beautifully understated, as are Johnny's vocals, but I am especially impressed with Billy Powell's piano in this. Coming from a Georgia good ol' boy, I have to say if we knew how crappy music would become today, we would have appreciated it more then. We were spoiled, however. There was amazing music everywhere all the time! All good wishes.
I agree with ya on this comment . Been listening to skynyrd for about 45 years now . I also found a young lady I enjoy just as much , who does duets with her sister from time to time , I hope you will check out Ms Lucy Thomas on youtube , it's a different style of music but very comfortable to listen to as well .. I was in high school that day in 1977. My good friend (still to this day) and I spent the day together crying and playing this album over and over. We mention it every year as an "in memoriam." Best song ever. ❤
If theyre not playing this at my funeral, I'm not going!
😂. Srry i put laughing emoji but people die and that's how a funeral is started
🧂Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha...🧂
I feel the same way - no song, no me!
Play it while they dig
That's a good one !!
All gone now, RIP guys, you were just the greatest band ever. Goodness knows how your music connected so deeply with a teen from the North of England all them years ago but you did and I am eternally grateful.
Rest easy Gary. I come back here every now and then. Seems like sometimes everyone needs a little of his music in their life even if you don’t love all of it.
Here’s to Chubbs wherever he is
Here’s to chubbs
TO CHUBBS
With his alligator and Lincoln...
It's funny because this song reminds me of many more things before Happy Gilmore but I still pictured the ending when I read your comment
When I hear the intro it reminds me of the ending from, season 4 regular show
Yo, you took Margaret to the airport?
Yeah
Want to talk about it?
No
🌅 🐦 🦝
I'm listening to them all. My favorite guitarist. Passed away today. RIP GARY ROSSINGTON
My brother died 5 years ago on a Tuesday morning. He was very into music and lived n loved life every day to the fullest. He lived a free life with many life experiences. He n I were very close. As siblings we shared so much together and were very close. I will never forget that Tuesday morning on June 5th 2018 that he left me. This song represents him and who he was!!
my brother joseph died in my place... long ago...
R.I.P ✌ I am sorry for you're lose reading this actually made me crying much love and peace to you your family and all the loved ones you have lost rock on🤘
imagine
@@davidhamilton8389god. Bless.
I miss my Pops!😢 that old man LOVED Lynyrd Skynyrd! Hope you all are hanging out with each other!! 🤘
One word for this song BEAUTIFUL
What a band ❤🎶 🎸
The first time I heard this song the hair on the back of my neck stood up!
Not manny other bands can compare.
Welcome brother👌🏻
Those were the good ole days when everything and everyone was cool. Miss it
RIP Gary!..😞😞😞😞😞😞Lynryd Skynryd music will always live forever………😔
That guitar solo is just beautiful.
This song always evokes a feeling I can't quite describe. Memories.
The good songs do that especially Skynard and Pink Floyd. It's internal relief but a sense of sadness at the same time. Glad your hear listening in 2024!
My mom died four Tuesdays ago. 😭 This song will forever have a different meaning for me. I love you Mom, so much RIP.
Youre mom now is in heaven doing great things up there. 🙏🙏🙏🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽
@@andros.7827 Definitely!! Thanks brother!! 🙏🙏🙏😇😇😇
Dum ass
I'm from Spain and thanks to my dad because he put Lynyrd Skynyrd in the car when i was a child, very good memories. ❤
Back in the days I had this album LP my late husband loved this group and this album was played at his funeral
Awww...I would bawl my eyes out. 😭
I’m sorry for your loss 😢
My prayers to you and him.
If you have ever lost someone you loved for any reason , this song resonates with your feelings .
I do too 😢
🧂Everyone Has A Tuesday Somewhere...Sometime...😶🧂
Thank You for being a part of the soundtrack of our lives.
Band finally back together 🕊 RIP Gary
Hey Chubbs! I hope wherever you are, you're happy..so long buddy!
RIP Carl Weathers (Chubbs) from happy Gilmore. Fantastic actor
No one cares about Hollywood actors.
Amazing Southern anthem, one of the best songs in history.
If this song touch your inner soul, you dont have one

This one and simple kinda man 🤟🏼🤟🏼👌👌👌👌
Remembering Ronnie Zant born on January 15, 1948.
Thanks man
It’s really weird when you go to Macon and stand in front of Gregg and Duane, and Berry’s grave. So much talent gone. Love me southern rock. Born and bred a southern boy.
There isn't a single song on this planet that has the same energy as this one
It feels like my life. Walking this earth alone
The melody on this song is incredibly good, one of the best songs I know. Especially the piano playing from around 3:20, and especially when the second playing from 3:55 kicks in. Absolutely magically good. These guys could make good music, good melodies and good lyrics.
I loooove the piano solo and guitar 🎸
@@WorshipGuitarist4life17 Yes, billy powell played incredibly well there. Something special with exactly that playing and that transition. Never gets bored, is just as magically good every time....
AND A.R.S...
R.I.P. Gary Rossington
Now he's a free bird 🐦
R.I.P. Gary now the whole band is reunited
Love this song…. So many awesome memories brought back by just the opening notes ❤
This song makes me even more sad now. Rest easy Carl Weathers
Skynyrd !! 🇺🇸
Thanks from Jax Fl ..
Skynard is still today one of the greatest bands hands down
