    Nice video. Just a tip though for others, that brake disc screw just needs to be hand tight, it’s only a factory assembly screw and has no other purpose. Also clean up the slider pins and grease as they often cause seized brakes.

      Thanks for the comment i did mention to clean the sliding pins and clean them in the vid 👍

      @@CarChris82 2 very tiny think they were 6mm heads they had to be made smaller using a dremel to remove them 😳 but yeah ideally you need them on 👍

      @@julesmatthews2178 they will definitely be going on when I do the hubs and I will probably strip the whole rear off and get the rear subframe powder coated and trailing arms

    Great video! Just a quick Q: do the rear pads have wear sensors? thanks Mate! Roy

  • @ronaldlangley259
    @ronaldlangley259 Рік тому

    Good video, Chris. Unscrewing the brake reservoir cap, would have helped with pushing the caliper back.
    Additionally, the back of the pads, doesn't need anti seize applied. That double-sided tape, takes its place nowadays.
    By all means, apply some, where the pads and caliper sit.

      Cheers mate definitely remove the reservoir cap i did mention that in the description 👍 I've always greased the back of the pads and the slots in the carrier its a habit and good practice no one wants squeaky brakes 🤣😂

    Nice job. Surpised when I did first the front brakes and I took of the disk shield to paint it. Easy.
    But … When I attempted to do the same thing on the rear, I mean cleaning and painting the shield … 😮 What a bad design ! Could not believe it. Impossible to take out cos the ABS ring is to close to the screws.
    I plan to do this job when I’ll replace the bearing 😕
    Anyway, I have completly rebuild the rear calipers with a replacement kit.

      I know I wanted to but you need to take the hub off to get the bolts out and I will be doing that hopefully later in the year when I get everything powder coated

    Recently I ordered new rear calipers, and the ones they sent me were too small, so I guess they're for a solid rotor

    Please help me Chris. I followed your videos for front and back and now I have no brakes! I cant see what I could've done wrong. My handbrake is now coming up really high and I just cant brake at all. I saw another thread which said to run the engine and pump the brakes but nothing happened

      Oh mate that don't sound good did you open the brake reservoir to relive pressure so no damage to the master cylinder? Also I don't understand why the handbrake would be higher send me some pics of what has happened on Instagram or to my email you may have got air in the system some how
