- It was supposed to be a short vlog, i just wanted to show how we make fruit cake, explain why we only make it every second year, that it was our Thursday dessert for this week which also means that its our (my partner and i) bake week but, here we are with a 20 minute vlog to be honest i didn't expect it but, i love talking and sharing with you so and it never felt like i was creating a long vlog.

The part with Ryan was very cool. More of Ryan please!
Ryan seemed very knowlegeable in his trade! Would love to see more at all age levels. Male and female, newborn- great great grand parents. Every generation is uniquely and wonderfully made! Romans 12:4-5
Ryan seems like a very understanding member of your colony since he is willing to help you with filming and sharing his own experience. Very kind. Hopefully, more of your colony will become more relaxed with your filming. I think it is much better for us "English" to understand your culture, than for wrong assumptions to be made about your colony. Sending prayers and blessings for you all.
Yes, I'd love to see a day in the life of your mom! It's interesting to me because I'm willing to bet we were around the same age. You're skilled enough with your editing that I'm quite sure you will be able to create a nice video that doesn't show her face although I'm sure she is as beautiful as you are!
good to know i will see how she feels about it although i'm sure that as long as i don't include her face she might be ok with it :)
I don’t think 22 minutes is long. I could watch longer! 😄 I’m surprised you made it to Wpg last week, the roads were so bad. We stayed home. I would definitely be interested in “a day in the life” of your mom. 😊
it was a little windy the closer we got to Winnipeg but, it passed kind of quick :) ok i will keep that in mind 😊

I have watched videos that were almost 2 or 3 hours long! I wish I could see Giselle's a little longer as well because her content is very interesting and it is not the same video day in and day out
@@gisellewaldner9406 you live in Winnipeg? I live in Lethbridge Alberta
@@annetteslife no, go back to 13.28 ish and listen again. Giselle is visiting Winnipeg her colony is about 10 hours away .
I have just found your channel and it couldn’t have come at a better time in my life. I’m suffering with immense grief due to losing two of my sisters to cancer. These videos bring me such peace and I think you are a wonderful person. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful life and culture it’s truly amazing.😊
Gisele it would be a blessing to see a day in the life of your mom. I am a strong believer of Titus 2 when it comes to woman , and that this is not something that is really encourage in our society, thus seeing a glimpse of it now and then is a tremendous blessing and could be inspiring I believe. May the Lord Jesus bless you and your family!
thank you i will try my best with filming her :)
@@gisellewaldner9406 Maybe just let ppl imagine how hard your mum works as if she isn't keen on being on a vlog it will upset her. Really don't worry about what others want, think of your mums wishes.😊
I would love to see a day/week for your mom but I also agree wholeheartedly with Jane Evans’ comment. Maybe you could film just her feet and hands?
Your mother and father sound like such fun! At times, we can hear them off camera. A day in the life of your mother would be so interesting if she's comfortable doing it. Thank you to Ryan for sharing a bit of his work. And thank you for another awesome vlog!!!
I love that you are sharing the Scriptureswith us.
Ryan footage...is he your beau/beloved? You don't have to explain. Just a guess : ) n wondering. If so, adorable couple n endearing accents, both.
I just love the beautiful singing. It brings tears to my eyes. ❤
Ryan, thanks for letting us see what your job looks like. It is interesting to see the community life from anothers persons perspective.
That´s why I would love to see a bit of what your mother does.
Giselle, I enjoyed every minute of it. Your vlogs not only inspire me in Godly living but it's like visiting with a good friend. Brilliant!
I would love to see a day in the life of your mom!!! She has to be an amazing lady .. just look at her beautifully kind children🥰
Hello Ryan, thank you for stopping by, you're a very nice fellow! Thank you for another wonderful video Giselle!
Hi Giselle, Thank you for another great video. It's so nice to meet Ryan, thank you. I thought I recognised some of the "out of the car" footage in Winnipeg, I'd love to visit again - oh well, maybe, some-day.
I like how God provided the keyboard for you at the price you could manage, He always does stuff like that. Yes, it's amazing what Jesus did for us, it's unimaginable really. It just goes to show how much God really loves all of us, even those who don't accept Him. Truth is, there is room enough in everybody's heart for Jesus, but sadly, most do not make Him welcome. I pray for those people to change their minds.
As to putting His gifts to us in His place is something we should never do, in fact, putting ANYTHING in place of God is not ok. God must be kept first in EVERYTHING in our lives. That's what Proverbs 3:5-6 means when it says, "...in all your ways acknowledge Him..." put Him first, in front of EVERYTHING.
Here's Proverbs 3:5-6 in full, "Trust in YHWH (replace this word with Adonai/The LORD) with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths." Amen, amen/אֲמֶן, אַמֶן. (which means "yes, truly/really").
God bless Giselle, until next time... 🤗😊🖐️
When I was a little girl my Grandma made the dried and candied fruit for fruit cake. So she started this in the summer 😊 It was the best fruit cake I've ever eaten. I remember a fruit nut and nougat roll covered in chocolate using the same fruits.
Absolutely lovely vlog. Your parents are such a precious couple. You can hear the gentleness and kindness in their voices.
I would love to see a day in the life of your mom. I am a mom and grandma with oldest grandchild being 20 and youngest is 3. I think. I have 15 of them. I loved seeing what Ryan does in the community. It was very interesting and informative. I love to learn new things.
Robin, we must be about the same age! I have three grown children 43-41-38 and eight grandchildren almost 21-6. They are the Greatest Blessings, each one.
I just love Giselle and how her Colony works together. Have a wonderful Day! From Vermont, US.
I like the way you do your fruitcake much better! You have top of the art machines! You are at a thrift store! I love 💕 love 💕 love thrifting!!
The hospital I worked at, the volunteers make fruit cake and sell it to raise money at Christmas . The volunteers are all older people who are retired. Some of the staff also help, and it’s great fun. We are a big sticky mess when we’re done.
Ryan looks like a nice guy.
Yes more mom! I think I’m about her age.
oh yes it is quite sticky, it felt like i was going to be attached to something at one point 😊
I'd love to see a day in the life of your mother. As one of the leaders of the community, her day would teach us so much. Ryan's part was intetesting but it would help if he could explain what he's doing for those of us who have no idea.
i can get him to do that :)
I would LOVE a day in the life of your mom, since I am a mom (54, three teen girls). :) Also, your mom's voice is so peaceful and what she says is so practical. Calming. It's okay to not show her face. I am not Hutterite, but I wouldn't want my face on UA-cam, either. I get it.
Way to go! The inside part/back side of the fabric is more pinstripe conservative formal look! Which is good! So creative you are! I love how you think things out!!!
Yes diffently a Day with youre mom. And it would be so interesting to se more of Ryans Day, but also hear about his live from a Boys side.
Love youre qouting from youre devotion.
(And sorry for my bad english, hope you understand)
Loved seeing Ryan Hofer's work. Please thank him for that. Love all your videos.
I like the clips with Ryan. It's good to see what the boys and men do, too. He seems like a good young man.
I was pleasantly pleased to see the red Christmas tree! I had one similar st one time. I’m fascinated by tinsel trees.
I’m grateful for God’s many blessings during the heat of this summer. But your videos remind me that Autumn will come again. Thanks.
Thank you my Sister in Christ for another beautiful video!🙏❤I'm making fruitcake this year, you inspire me❤🙏 God bless you and all the Colony Members🙏❤ Until next time Giselle! You bless us richly❤Much love❤
Yaaaa Shabbos time for Friday!!! Today is Friday! First Friday of 2023!!!!! 🎉😊 make sure you down load the drivers for your keyboard!
I agree with everyone who said yes to a DITL of your mom and more of Ryan and what the guys do. I also wanted to say that Kona was sooooo adorable when sleeping. I have a hard time not cuddling and disturbing animals when they sleep as they extra adorable at that time. 😊
I was watching and thought that looks like Winnipeg where I used to live! It was a surprise! Thank you for sharing your days!
Thank you for sharing your week. It was nice to meet Ryan. Yes to the DIL with your Mom. Please put the words to the hymns at the end so I can play Hutterite Karaoke with the beautiful voices in your choir.
Next week Thursday is our Thanksgiving Day in the US. Then all the Christmas things begin to come out! It's so much fun watching you begin the early preparations! You certainly got to the store in Winnipeg at the right time!
I love the Christmas Season! It's my favorite time of year. The extra sense of giving and pleasing others. The lights and decorations. The wonderful smells of Christmas baking and the beautiful songs. And, most of all, the anticipation of Celebrating the Birth of Christ Jesus!
Thank you for including in this video the young man showing us what he does for work. His responsibilities are so much different than those you have. Both equally important but very different.
And thank you for telling us how very much your Mom contributes working in the community! The way your Colony works together is so wonderfully different from what most of us are used to. Much better than being on one's own in the World I think.
Have a safe and wonderful upcoming week from Vermont, US!
Just found your channel after following a rabbit hole on youtube about communal living. Thanks for sharing your life and traditions with us. Merry Christmas!
As always thanks for sharing! Such amazing skills, and amazing positive attitude!!!
That tree at the end is very cute! Ryan seems like a very nice young man. I approve.😉
Oh a day in the life of your mom would
Be wonderful, and it was interesting to watch Ryan more of that what be interesting also. Have a wonderful weekend Giselle and family.
Love that you shared fruitcake making (looks amazing), Ryan's work and everything else! Yes, I would love to see a video of what your Mom and Dad do for work. No faces of course. Would enjoy seeing anyone from the colony that wishes to be filmed. Hope to see what Christmas celebrations the colony does including the food! Take care and have a blessed week.
I just love watching your vlogs. Nice to see one of the young guys showing his trade , and the music is so amazing to hear so many great voices. I just can't get too much of you and your jobs. Sure makes me feel lazy. I love fruit cake and never can have too much of it, sure do have to make lots when you're feeding the whole colony. Great job of everything you do.
The swamp grass is better when you catch it before it fluffs out I have some in my home 😊 I love it
I would love a day in the life of each age group at your colony if they'd be up for it. You could even compile longer versions of each video and make a special edition just for your family there. A sort of documentary for future generations or gift to friends and family. Yet another way to share YOUR gift for working with modern technology.
that's an interesting way of doing it..thank yo for the idea 😊
Giselle, I’m so thankful everything got to you! I pray the salves soothe your hands and that the candles bring you joy! Breathe is such a great supporting oil. I’m glad it helped!
Kelly you are so kind to send Giselle such lovely gifts 👏👍
thank you so much i have been using the salves since i have received your gift and usually around this time in my cook week my hands are cracked and bleeding but, this time there is nothing, my hands have never been so nice, thank you for that 😊
It's so nice to see what others do in your community. Tell Ryan thanks for taking the time to share a quick video with us. I would love to see a day in my life video about your mom. Thank you for another great video. My Saturdays are not complete without them 😍❤.
Oh my those fruit cakes!!! Now my mouth is watering for a piece. I’m sure we would all love to see a day in the life of your Mama. What I see in your family is lots of laughter and love. Thanks for including Ryan’s footage. Their work is so technical and he seems highly skilled. Sometimes I watch parts of your videos with my husband, especially he likes anything about the fire trucks. Your mini Christmas trees are adorable. Thanks for sharing another week with us. God’s ✌🏻 G! For your family and colony too! ps those had to be Amaris’s sisters? They all look so much alike.
Last time you filmed a bake week, I had been curious if it was just you since I thought you worked in pairs. Glad you mentioned that you alternate the bread-making process; it answered my question without even having to ask!
Please pass along a thanks to Ryan for the clips, was fun to see some more behind the scenes in the community.
Thank you your videos! Gods love is extremely amazing, isn’t it? So thankful for his love.
Thank you for that delicious video. I certainly would enjoy seeing a day in the life of your mom. We don't have to see her face to enjoy her perspective just like we don't always see your face in the videos. Great job, Giselle!
Yes that would be very interesting! Day in the life of you mom and a day in the life of the guys - that would be so great!. It was very interesting to see Ryan work on electricity, thank you :)
Love the blog as usual! Ryan is awesome please tell him how much we appreciate the guys side of things. Yes please share your mom with us!!
Ooh Ryan is adorable!!
Using the same devotional, I really enjoy your sharing parts of it. I’m so grateful for our Lord’s saving grace through Jesus Christ. And, yes, I would be interested in a day in the life of your mom. I’m a mom and grandma who appreciates the fellowship in the Body of Christ. Your videos are always a bright spot in my day!
We want to see Ryan do his job. Thanks in advance.
Would love to see a day in the life of your Mama, you all work so hard! I really enjoy hearing scripture from you, we all need to reflect more on Gods gifts. I’m watching from cold ,cloudy and damp south East Indiana.
You all live such a blessed life.
I would love to see a DITL of your mom! Enjoyed the bit with Ryan too!
Thank you so much I loved the grass never thought of spraying
Would love to meet your Mom, encourage her to let us see some of her work at the preschool. Also I have been curious about the industry of building firetrucks which appears to be what Ryan is doing. Glad he is willing.
Just found your channel and subscribed! You are a delight! That last song brought tears to my eyes
Thank you for continuing to have singing at the end of your videos. I really enjoy that. Merry Christmas to your house from ours. Debi. 🥰🥰
Your video diaries are wonderful. I appreciate the thoughtfulness you put into their making as well as your consideration of others' privacy in your community. Your "ministry" in teaching others how we may serve God in our daily activities is very well done. Thank you for your hard work on these.
Hi Giselle, your fruitcake looks so delicious, well worth a two year wait. Please tell Ryan thank you for sharing bits of his life as an electrician for your colony’s fire truck business. All you can share about your colony is welcomed. It takes a brave person to put themselves out on a video, but it is a learning opportunity your viewers appreciate. Ryan was very well spoken and intelligent and a joy to watch at work. Thank you for seeking him out to participate. I am wondering if there is anyone in your community willing to talk about your religion and how it is the driving force behind your customs and beliefs.
On a similar topic, Giselle have you ever considered writing a book about Hutterites? As if you have time along with your duties and vlogging.
Thank you for this wonderful video. YES to a day in life of your mother and father and grandmother and brothers and grandfathers. LOL one thing at a time
Oh YES! A day in the life of your Mom!!
I can’t imagine your mom doing 5 times what you do because you are a busy lady. I love how you all help each other with food prep, cooking and cleaning the main buildings 😊 and the music at the end, beautiful 🥰
Yes! A day in the life of your mom!
I poured your resin pendent today. It will take time to finish and off it goes on it’s journey from Kona, Hawaii to Canada as promised. Hopefully for Christmas but I ordered the bails( the thing it hangs from) and have to wait for them to arrive. I popped it from the mold it’s so pretty just like you.
I ve missed you! Hello from Wisconsin USA. Looks like you're busy and happy as ever!
As a citizen of Corsicana Texas, Home of the famous "Collins Street Bakery" known for the best fruit cake in the world, I must say "A year without fruit cake is like a year without sunshine!"
The smile on Kona’s face. Sweet dreams puppy😌. I enjoyed Ryan’s video part. It’s interesting to see what the men do too.
I wish I could believe in God when I see all this and think about how it warms your heart. I tried to believe but it doesnt stay with me. I hope you have a wonderful and heartwarming Christmas. Wishing you all the best. 🎄⭐
I really love watching your videos
You are sweet, funny , talented and you love God . A day in the life of your momma that would be awesome.
I pray blessings over you and yours and whatever you do, do it with your whole heart
"First I drink the coffee, then I do the things." Giselle, I almost spat out my coffee reading this. How true!
😊😊
I am a preschool teacher. I love hearing about the summer program for preschoolers that you have at the colony. I would love to learn more. This vlog is wonderful. Best Wishes! In Christ, Mary Elizabeth
Too bad you didn't have a secret channel, for those of us that have known you since the beginning, to fill us in where the spark between you and your friend stands😉
Yes yes yes we would love to see a day in life of a hutterite mom💕💕 Thank You.
Kona is so beautiful and so are you. I love watching your videos. You live such a wonderful life . Bless you and your family. I’m from a small town in Ct.
I am enjoying the devotional like yours that I ordered. Thanks for sharing your life with us. Your videos are a breath of fresh air.
Great job Ryan! You are a natural with videos.
Your fruitcake looks so delicious. I haven't made one for years due to the cost but this year needs fruitcake.
It sounds like you got your work ethic from your mom. I'd love to see a day in her life.
P.S. Your videos can never be too long!
People make fun of fruit cake but I have such fond memories of my Aunt Julia serving us her homemade fruitcake when we would go for a visit. It was FABULOUS and to this day, I LOVE IT. I have to order it online, since she's been gone a long time now, and every bite makes me miss my sweet Aunt Julia. Great childhood memories swirl around in my head every time I eat it. Thanks for posting!
I would love to see your mama in a video! And yes, moms do the work of 5 people❤️! Kona looks so happy and content. How does she like the snow? And yes, we would love to see more of Ryan! He seems like a very nice young man! We finally got our first cold snap in coastal Georgia, and I am wearing a nice flannel shirt. Have a wonderful week, and thank you again for this wonderful video of your life, it blesses me more than you know!
I live in a small town in Alberta and the roads were so bad last week! Great you get to Winnipeg now and again! I love Christmas cake, now my mouth wants some! lol. Xo Deb from Alberta
Watching you receive a gift was oddly fulfilling. I wonder if my love language is gifts and I just don't know it yet.
I enjoyed your video, very down to earth, the Xmas cakes looked great they are packed to the brim with fruits and nuts they look pretty as well 😊 from nz
I would love to see you and your mom do a day in the life or a sit down and explain why or how she chose to be a Hutterite. Has she ever thought about leaving? We’d love to meet the woman who raised you to be the most amazing young woman. ❤️
Glad to see you got your snow that you were wishing for last week. We are supposed to get snow later this week, but who knows? It will make the Christmas markets prettier.
Your fruit cakes look marvelous! Thanks for introducing us to Ryan.
20 mins is a good time for a video.
I recognised Winnipeg. I am from the U.K. but my husband and I visit MB, AB and SK for several months each year. I so enjoy your videos, Giselle. ❤️
Thank you for sharing your week Giselle. You are a wonderful young lady. ✨
Try Aqua Net hairspray if you find it in your area... It will hold pine needles on a Christmas tree so should work for pompous grass... Way cheaper...
Hi Giselle good to see your doing well. I see lots of snow your way as well as over on my end. God bless 🙏🏼
I would love to see a day in the life of your mom! ❤️
Thank you for reading my letter and giving us a glimpse into what you are reading in the bible and others.
Wonderful! Scripture for today was just perfect. Your fruitcakes look delicious!
I agree that the part with Ryan was very neat! :D
Also, even though your mom doesn't want to be on the video, I love when we can hear her voice. She has a very comforting voice. So thank her for that.
Nice to see Ryan, what a great skill to have. I am sure everyone assists with many things. I have tried making fruitcake but mine always seems dry. Here in Ontario our second hand books are expensive, never below $3 each. You can pick them up at yard sales cheaper.
I have just discovered your channel this week as I am hooked on your vlogs, as I really enjoy watching them !
Thank you. Very nice.
Yes please a day in the life of mum! X
Hi Giselle, those fruit cakes look delicious. Good to see Ryan at his work. All the best from Ireland 🇮🇪
You're absolutely right, there's nothing better than homemade fruit cake (when it's made properly). And ya they're super expensive so I can imagine why you only make them every 2 years. I don't stir in my fruit and nuts with a machine, I put my recipe in a really large roaster and stir it that way so the sink idea is genius for a recipe to feed a whole colony!
I make between 12-20 5 lb traditional fruit cakes topped with marzipan and fondant icing as gifts for my family and church family members. They love them I loathe fruit cake but love the scent of the various spices.
Thanks for sharing your wonderful family traditions, including yummy fruitcake. You gave such a vibrant personality and that shines through. Also continue sharing your devotions. Those are very meaningful and useful!
