I personally love my Kindle! It's one of my favorite possessions! It fits in my bag and is waterproof and glare proof. Excellent battery life. My eyes aren't very strong, so being able to change the font size is wonderful for me. Also, being lightweight, they are much easier to read in bed than a 1300 page book (The Count of Monte Cristo ftw!) with its booklight. I can carry 1000s of books with me on a lightweight, distraction free device.
I had NO idea you could go in and remove the ads. Because of your suggestion on the video, I went and did it snd you are so right! My kindle looks all fancy now without the ads on lock screen haha
I need to get back to reading.. it's always been a huge joy of mine.. but it's the first thing to drop when i get busy.. But I LOVE physical books. I do wonder if having a kindle though would help me read more....
I absolutely love physical books but I found myself reading SO much when I got my kindle. Also, If you have a phone addiction(like most people) it satisfies the desire of having a device in your hands. It’s time-efficient as well because you don’t have to worry about leaving your house to go to a store or library nor do you need to order books. Regardless though, I hope you were able to find an option that makes reading easiest for you:)
What is nice about the Kindle, you can see the hours/minutes of how long it will take you to finish the book AND I feel like with how the screen is set up, you're able to read "faster" if that makes sense. I like it for the versatility.
I bought my Kindle oasis (10th generation) about a week ago and it's one of the best purchases I've made in a very long time, I was tired of my paper books taking up space at home now I don't have that problem anymore I can have almost all the books I want in the same little tablet And I had a very high budget for reading every month but now it costs me zero, I have almost all the e-books that exist for free Even books that came out recently, I just have to download them and transfer them to my kindle and then it's over
I LOVE buying and owning books, but I never end up reading/finishing them. Reading on my tablet is great because I can switch between any books easily, turn on night mode, etc. However, I really wanna get the new Paperwhite Kindle because it will prevent me getting distracted by UA-cam and I know those e-ink displays are amazing.
It took years for me to take the plunge. I finally bought my Kobo Nia at Christmas 2020 and gosh, my best deal ever. Love that small babe, comes with me everywhere. I can have up to 1000 books there ( usually more than that and it will "die", I've tried) and I don’t feel guilty about them. I always have stuff to read.
Thinking about buying a Kindle Paper White these days.. But I saw the Kindle in a Electronic Supermarket some days ago.. And I was surprised about its size. (Smaller than I thought) I like reading on Paper Book.. But it 's very tempting to choose the size of the printed letter.. That could be a great help to my sight. Nice and helpful Video. Greetings from Spain 📖📖
New subscriber! I absolutely love my kindle paperwhite! I had the 10th gen (2020) version but splurged and got the 11th gen and gave the 10th gen to my mom. Honestly I prefer the kindle over books 🥴 it’s so convenient. It literally goes everywhere with me in my purse. I take it to work. I actually read on it today in the car waiting on my mom to check out at Walmart lol 😆 I have the 8GB as well and over 350 books on my kindle. I still have 5.33GB left! Which is insane
(1:34) I know how you feel. Half of the reason why is that as much as I love the feel of physical hardcover books, I don't have a lot of space for books in the flat (apartment) that I live in, and have to have e-books instead. However, I use a BOOX tablet because dedicated e-readers don't work for me with my autism, and would still recommend Kindle/Kobo/etc dedicated e-readers to people who just want to read e-books. I'm also trying to not buy too many new books as my TBR pile is already somewhat tall, but then when I see other people talking about the books they read, I'm sometimes tempted to buy my own digital copies! (6:18) Interesting to see that they enable that feature by default on the new ones! While I do have a Kindle e-reader, it's the old Paperwhite from 2015 and it's for my research. It just had the writing-related screensavers, until I updated it later on and was able to switch it over to displaying book covers. This is especially great considering the kinds of books I read, as they have covers that look just so beautiful to me! (10:01) It so happens that I do read comics! In fact, I primarily read comics! (looks at my copies of 'Agent 9: Flood-a-Geddon!', "Mr. Wolf's Class", and 'Dungeon Critters' on my TBR pile I have trouble reading large amounts of plain text, so I can't read regular novels, but can read illustrated and graphic novels! (10:55) Aaahhhhhh I do use the Libby app! 😃
@@MayaWeatherall Does it ever feel small, in comparison to a physical book? I've seen these devices look rather small next to regular paperbacks. It's one of the things that kinda makes me nervous.
@@marril96 I have smaller to medium sized hands and it is huge for me like a regular book. It is smaller but it doesn’t feel like a phone either. I also have a pop socket on the back of mind for holding and love it!
Between ebooks and audiobooks, I am reading everyday. I've deleted about 2000 books from my TBR over the last week, but that still leaves me with a 27 year long TBR and there is no way I would have enough space for that many books so digital books (Kindle) is my preference especially since that's the easiest way for indie authors to gain entrance into the publishing scene and while I read from the big publishing houses, indie authors have been most of what I've read over the last 4 years.
There's a voiceview feature with Bluetooth. It will read the book to you, although it's a robotic voice without having to pay for an audible subscription.
Thank you, I really enjoyed your video. I’m still trying to talk myself in to getting one. With the free 4 month unlimited, do you have to cancel that subscription manually? I’d be worried they charge your account after the 4 months automatically
Hi Mark! Yes you have to manually cancel your membership on your Amazon account. But if you're not ready to use it just yet, the four free months should still be accessbile for you!
ask me 6-7 years a go and i will laugh in your face about kindle and any and all e-reader out there, i was physical book pureset to the extreme. now a day? i hhhave a kindle paper white myself, yes i still love physical boks, to hold them, the smell, the feelling of owning them the romatic is there and not replaceble that is sure, BUT, now i understand the practicallity of kindle, yes you need to charge it but it is not heavy, it's not catching a lot of spacem you can read in the dark and it is fun to use cause you can match the size of the latters to what is comfortable to you. the only reasson i'm not buying right now the paperwhite 2021 version right here and now that cause i have my 2018 version only a few months and it is too early to switch the only negative side i see of my kindle is MICRO USB connector
Hm, I feel you're throwing way too much wording at this subject :-) It's 100% worth reading books. And do it any way you have that book: physical (on paper), or electronic (on Kindle or other ebook readers). I do this both ways. Sometimes I do read the paper book, translated in my language, and occasionally need to consult the English original on the Kindle 🙂 (to have a clue about the original expression there -- occasionally I even detect a mistake in the translation, in this way). Ah, and don't fool yourself that you read a book if you just listened to it being read by someone else (the so-called audiobooks) - this is so ridiculous that I can't have enough words against it !
I think that audio book are not bad, I listen to them while driving to work exclusively and I do remember the book red to me. 😅 I prefer reading but it let me empty a bit more my tbr pile 🙌
I agree with you that reading physical books are so worth it. Trust me I gravitate towards those first, but the Kindle just adds a new depth that peaks my reading interest more. Hopefully with translations they improve those mistakes, nothing worse than noticing a grammatical error. Thanks for sharing!
You are absolutely charismatic on screen. But your style clashes with the content of your speech. If you are going to be laid back, you ought to go for a style that is soothing. But your mannerisms are hyper and active :) I would have subscribed to your channel if you talked about books from the start.
You know I appreciate your feedback because those who wanna follow will do so. As for my style I didn’t know I was in your class of how to dress, but if I ever enroll I’ll be sure to shout you out!

If you buy the Kindle Kids paperwhite it comes without the ads as standard and a free case. It's pretty easy to set up an adult account.
