This brings me back to 6th grade, (beginning band), when we played this. It was fun! Edit: seems like this is a popular song for bands to play. It kind of blows me mind, since I'm now in my second year of college. It's been two years since I've graduated and stopped band, and I kind of miss it on some occasions. It's nice hearing from those still in band!
I was a transfer student and on Thursday (when I am typing this) I am going to be playing Comet Ride, Cruesin Bluesin, and the Tenth Planet, and I had no clue how to play any of it, but now I do
Trombone parts are the best. It makes you feel like you are actually part of the song, cause everyone has the medley and you are just the background, and you actually get to play it at a certain part in the song. Also, I don’t think trigger trombones will help with this one. ;-; Thanks Mr. Markoplis (idek how to spell his name) for letting us Concert Band students of District 143 play this song. Lol he probably won’t read this at all.
I loved playing this in band....10 YEARS AGO omg... This song was so fun to play (flute) and its been stuck in my head since I had to quit band later that year. So glad I finally found it. Flutes Represent!
I remember playing this in middle school. I was the one on bells, and omg it was nerve wracking performing it, especially on that solo part. But it remains one of my favorite peices I've ever played.
Am I the only Percussion person here? Along with this song, I play First Adventure by German Baratto and March Royale by Mark Willams. For Comet ride I play Bells, For First Adventure I play Toms/ Hi-Hats And for March Royale I play Bass drum c:
I play timpani for comet ride. I also do Quest of the knights Templar where I just go insane on the snare. You should go listen to it if like percussion
I’m playing it on December 19th along with Union March, Declaration and Dance, and part of Stars and Stipes Forever. And Let’s Go Band (Even though it’s easy).
I love this song so much me and my friend are on perc 2! I’m on tam tam, break drum, and wind chimes witch I always wanted to play but we did not play them in 6th grade at all bc the high school need to borrow them but I’m playing them now in 7th grade and my friend is on suspended symbol, crash symbol, and we been practicing a lot and even tho we are only in 7th we are proud to be apart of the Avon band community and playing this song is a honor because I got the part I wanted and it’s such a fun song,
Aww I played this last year in 6 grade! This was SO fun!! I played most of this and had a lot of the same things as the sax! (I’m French horn) Favorite part: 0:53
That's awesome to hear! 🎶 It's great when you find a piece that's not only enjoyable but also feels just right for your instrument. What specific aspects of the trombone part do you find the most fun? Any particular sections that stand out to you? Keep rocking that trombone, and enjoy every note of the performance! 🎺😊
I'm playing this in band. This one is my favorite out of the three songs. Second place is Union March and my least favorite (I still like it) is Declaration and Dance.
I remember playing this in 7th grade on bells and a year later, right before the 7th grade band goes up, the band teacher comes to me and tells me that the person for bells is absent, so i go up and play it off of pure memory and do it perfectly
I love this song sooo much and it gives me chills near the end of it. I play baritone/low brass and I love this song bc it just highlights our notes near the end of it
When we were given our music for Our two concerts I saw comet ride and our music teacher played the music to comet ride and at first it reminded me of Robin Hood lol
