- When it comes to 1st Party Nintendo we've got a whole lot of mysteries right now when it comes to what their second half of the year plans are. With Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door and Luigi's Mansion 2 HD both coming out before the end of June, there's a wide open holiday season where Nintendo could reveal a whole lot of potential last second games as the Switch life cycle begins to wind down and prep for whatever is next. Here's some ideas of games we could see, including new Star Fox and Donkey Kong Games, a new Mario sports title, and remasters of various Metroid, Fire Emblem, and Zelda games including Twilight Princess, Wind Waker, Fire Emblem 4, and Metroid Prime 2.

I definitely feel this would be the best time to release Wind Waker and Twilight Princess HD
Twilight princess needs a proper remaster, similar to what Sony did with Shadow of the collosus

@@gabrielmendes9927You’re confusing remake and remaster though, Shadow of the Collossus was a full remake and I would argue Wind Waker HD too, Twilight Princess was a Remaster though, still the same game with better textures, res etc
No, we're too close to new hardware. Release them as new Switch exclusives utilizing new hardware capabilities for that graphical upgrade (again)
I’m just going to assume Nintendo is going to have a stack first party titles for the next gen Switch ready for the first year.
This was the lesson they learned well after 3DS’ poor launch and the WiiU’s sparse release schedule. Hit the ground running and keep the games coming.

Keep dreaming, my boy. Skyward Sword HD has already been released, and a wind waker + twilight princess bundle is not likely even if they do remake/port these 2 games.
Also the switch screen is a 720p display, can’t go any higher. Now, 1080p 60fps docked would be killer 👌

Metroid is a franchise that knows what it is. Apart from Other M and Prime Federation Force [which was more bad timing than a bad game], Metroid has been consistent and kept its character.

Yeah they have something. Like if they didn’t have anything Peach’s show time could have easily been delayed a month, let alone endless ocean paper Mario and Luigi’s mansion could have been spaced out better.
There isn’t a reason not to save that dark moon remake for September or October especially to space our releases if they didn’t have a bigger game dropping then instead
Whatever they do, a solid launch lineup is key. A new Mario game, a new Zelda game and/or a remaster of BOTW/TOTK and of course Mario Kart 9.
There’s definitely enough stuff they could port over, maybe one last biggish release, to get them through the year. In one of the dummies that owns a WiiU and I’m sure I’d buy the Zeldas all over again if they included any additional upgrades at all.

Xenoblade Musou I bet, and Metroid Prime 4 will drop for both the current and next switch, and there will be another Mario Sports this fall. Add a few remakes, and bam, there’s your 2024.
I agree that Wind Waker and Twilight Princess need to come to switch. Maybe this is an outside shot, but I want to see A Link Between Worlds make its way from 3ds to switch.
That would be so sick, maybe even as a remake, Grezzo would be perfect with the artstyle from Links Awakening

I have a feeling that Metroid Prime 4 is going to be the Breath of the Wild for Switch 2. It will release simultaneously on both platforms and will be the final major first party release from Nintendo for the Switch.
They had better plan to put Super Mario Galaxy 2 on the Switch in Spring this year.

I’m surprised you didn’t mention f-zero, especially as a few other GameCube games have been remastered onto switch. Other than that I agree with all that you have said in this video. Let’s hope at least one of your speculations comes true.

It would also be nice to have Legend of Zelda 1, Link to the Past, and Link to Between Worlds ported. Link's Adventure too, but that seems less likely.
Zelda 1 and A Link to the Past are available on the Switch.
And I don't know why you want ports of them, when their emulated versions on Switch run just like on OG hardware! ^^

Xenoblade Chronicles X is A GREAT GAME.
Released around the wiiu doom and gloom time, I believe people was too harsh on it.
If you can look past the weird sound mixing, and awkward forced mmorpg elements, it's just another masterpiece from monolith.

Right now it's a 50-50 situation. We're likely to get some new game releases and announcements through the rest of 2024; probably including more remakes & remasters.
But~ We're in that stage of the Switch's life where a new console could get announced.
It is weird that Xenoblade Chronicles X is the only entry in the franchise that hasn't been released on the Switch.
Twilight Princess and Wind Waker is something fans have wanted. A remake would be great; especially Link to the Past and the Oracle games.
It would make sense to remake the legacy Fire Emblem games since the franchise is quite popular now.
I 100% agree that DKC Returns should get a Switch port. Also they should do a DKC Trilogy Remake.
They should do remakes of the Starfox games (Starfox 1 an 2 included).
It would be interesting if we got a remake of the legacy Metroid games using the graphical engine of Dread; specifically Zero Mission, Samus Returns, Super, and Fusion).

Uh let's not! Star Fox one has gotten too many remakes or reimaginings. Gameplay wise I'm fine if 2s Gameplay entirely was used for a new game. Let's just not push the narrative that the starfox series is one game.
A brand NEW game or a remake/reimagining of Assault would be far more appealing for fans.
AFAIK, Xenoblade X was designed with the Wii U in mind, so you need to translate the gamepad mechanics as well to the console.
Maybe the next model will allow us to use the Switch or a phone as a touchscreen/gamepad?

I hope they just say it's a procedural upgrade to the Switch line, like a "Pro" model. I really want it to be the best-selling system in the world. Already is in Japan. it's just that revolutionary of a system that catapulted companies to make hybrid consoles.
I don't know what they are planning.... But i reckon it will be good... I miss Nintendo because they are masters of good games and i might have to invest

I'm really hopeful that the Switch 2 is fully backwards compatible with the Switch, there are so many great new and ported/remastered games that might not have the biggest lifespan on the switch. Also I'm willing to bet most people's Switches are on their deathbed at this point with how many issues it's had.

@@ZackSNetwork Often consoles aren't FULLY backwards compatible, only having a select number. Nintendo has of course never had backwards compatibility that doesn't work fully, but Nintendo decision making is also almost impossible to predict sometimes. It might not even be backwards compatible at all to get you to buy new games or something.

Nintendo dug too deep when they kept the switch for a very long time. The switch game catalog is so big now that they are now obligated to add cross play to their upcoming system maybe even in the far future systems as well.
