Back when I was a lot younger, you used the brick stitch to make the corner to corner. That’s why I was so confused when “ everybody “ was calling it c2c. I made them back in the 1980s so even the stitch and Afghan aren’t new !!!🤣🤣 Love your Afghan your making.
I have made corner to corner u when u fold it.fold it at at the opposite corner of the blanket that's how u get the even edges it's folded like a triangle great job god bless you in all you do love your videos
I think this is a good idea . The brick stitch looks great . I love putting different color strands together . I am making a cat blanket now using 3 strands together in worsted weight yarn . Great way to use up those scrapes . Have a great day .
I learned this stitch before I even knew about C2C, except I call it crazy shell stitch.🧶 If you look that up there are a few tutorials on it. 👍 I like the wavy edging at the top for blankets.😀 I thought brick stitch was something else.🤔💕🐨
Love your afghan Debbie, Creative Grandma has a tutorial which shows how to even up that last row. Stitch of the Week Pattern#98 Textured Crazy Shell Stitch.
I agree with the commentators who stated that that vid was def not for us beginners. There is one did find, though. In knitting it called 'on the diagonal' or 'bias' & there is none of this crazy set up....wow. I for one can't get the hang of the crochet one. Thanx for sharing :D
I am SO impressed with how your lapghan is turning out!!! WOW! Thank you for the alternative stitch idea... I still have yet, after a couple of years, to try the C2C pattern. I look forward to trying it...
Yep!!! Its the "drunken granny" stitch that Krista does. Her tutorial is spot on! And she puts a border on it so you should check it out. Ive made a couple of baby blankets with this stitch.
i do love the c2c, so will look into doing this, your double strand lapghan looks fab, and i, like you have odd cakes and odd balls of yarn , thanks for more inspiration debbie :)
Hi Debbie 🙋🏻♀️ Thank you for telling us about the brick stitch. I’ve never heard of it. Im learning that there are a lot of stitches I’m not familiar with. That’s what I love about this craft..... I’m always learning. Love the colors in the lapghan that your making. 🤗 ~ til next time ❤️
That almost looks like the same stitch’s I’m using for a swim suit cover up. Didn’t know what it was called. Love the colours you are using. Very pretty
Hi Debbie. Great Idea with putting those two Bernat Pop Colors together and thank you for link because I haven't done a C2C yet and I would have like Setta as far as that fold. 🌼🌻
I just learned to C2C, am nearly finished with my first baby blanket, and loving it. I am very intrigued with what you shared, and can't wait to check it out. Thanks!
Bag O Day with Crystal has a different version that I use called the brick stsitch she made a baby blanket with it. I love hers and yours! When I finish mine I will show it.
Not necessarily, there’s just some magazines I’ve kept over the years and some ( lord help me ) I’ve thrown away that I should’ve held on to !🤣🤣 At one time I had 5-6 magazine subscriptions and they had patterns every month and then a bunch in Nov and Dec for presents....... now not so much. So a lot of stuff I make, I go right back to “ the old standbys” from years ago !🤣🤣 And patterns that I haven’t even tried ....yet that I’ve now got time to try. Hopefully if I find one I think you’ll like....I’ll figure out something ! I love your videos and try to look at them all. Toodles !😉😉
You can always square off the top row if you're so inclined. Just a matter of some well placed slip, half, and double stitches. I kind of like it the way it is. I'd call it a fancy top and be done with it. But that's me and I'm a tad lazy.
Very pretty stitch Debbie. I’ll have to check it out. Thanks for giving the multiples. I don’t know who did the tutorial yet but based on what you’re saying I may have an idea. I personally love the scalloped edging! Very pretty. I have made 3 of my granddaughters blankets using a 4 weight yarn. In the beginning it was fun. The last one was.frankly, painful. I was bored to tears but my little 5 year old cutie kept on asking and asking and I finally finished it. I actually started another one for her using Blanket yarn because I felt so guilty. For now I’m making most of my blankets using Bernat Blanket yarn. They whip up soooo quick. If I try this brick stitch I hope I can use at least a #5 weight. Thanks for sharing with us! Yours is beautiful!
Actually, I was wrong. I’ve never seen this channel. For a quick tutorial it was fine. It looks easy and also very pretty. Again, thanks for the multiples!
Hi dad I saw this pattern about a year ago myself I don't know who your link is for but I don't remember was called the basket weave either way O my gracious girl I love it to how cool is that and that color way you're working out is beautiful and all if I've seen that around here but I really like it great share toodles I have a great weekend
Hi Deb.... havent caught up with you lately...all these new Crocheter channels lol ...BUT YOUR ALWAYS MY FAVORITE! 💗 PEACE LOVE, AND HUMAN KINDNESS KIM-N-CAROLINA
Love this stitch Debbie. Making a blanket for my bed. Never knew the name of the stitch, but initially saw it done as a lion brand cowl by Littlejohn and Claudetta Crochet, both on UA-cam. Wonderful stitch. The chunky weight blanket is getting huge so it's almost done. Love seeing it grow to completion. Thanks for Sharing!🌻🤗
I found the Bernat Pop did that to my shawlette I made. It's so frustrating. I have some cakes to use up too. I've made a few hats and a cowl with them but was wondering what else to make to use them up. I think I may try holding two together and make a lap blanket. I love the colours you got doing that. Thanks for the great ideas Debbie. 😊
Thanks for informing us about the "ink spots" on the Bernat Pop. I have 4 cakes of the Bernat Pop colorway "Violet Vision". I wanted to make a toddler blanket but I don't think that I have enough to double the strands. I'll check the link on the brick stitch. 😍
😁thank you Debbie! 💜I’m so glad I watched this before I started crocheting. I needed to made 2 baby blankets and I was going to use c2c. This is perfect!😁😃😃🧶🧶 🥰
My first thought was OMG 2 stands of bernat blanket! lol My wrists would be killing me before too many rows. Would be a super warm blanket though. Bernat blanket is super chunky though so would probably be good with the single strand.
That's really pretty, and that's a good idea. I've done corner to corner; a couple of scarfs and they always came out with straight edges that meet up. Thanks for the info.
@@CanadianCrocheter ?? I don't think so. I have been trying to focus on making my stitches with the same tension. It can be difficult though when stopping , then coming back in a few days. lol I made a baby dress and then put it down for about a month then, I forgot what hook I had used . But I finally finished it and if it's the wrong hook I can't tell. LOL oh well !
Thanks Debbie, I will remember this. But 1 of the reasons I like C2C if I'm not sure how big I want the blanket and I have just so much yarn I know to use 1/2 to the middle and then decrease....lol
Hi Debbie! I recently found a tutorial that the lady (SO sorry!! I don't remember her name!) used a stitch that she called the Tulip stitch. She said it was similar to the C2C but you go across in rows. It was really pretty without the wonky sides. lol Your blanket looks pretty! ☺
@@CanadianCrocheter That's right! Thank you so much for telling me because it would have bugged me until I figured it out. lol Hope you have a great day!
I love how you've put your yarns together. I often have used one solid color yarn with a variety to tie it all together. I'm going to be brave and try this!
Hey Debbie. I'm working on a cardigan that reminded me of you. It has a tutorial on here. Her name on here is Make & Do Crew. It's listed on here as learn to crochet cardigan for beginners. She uses the comfy cotton yarn. So pretty. She has a written pattern also.

Becky Bramlett that is exactly why I would love hang out with someone like you. I would learn so much!
Me too!!
Debbie thanks for sharing. I love the lapghan; beautiful colors. Enjoy your weekend. Blessings 💜
I've done that stitch and just continued all around the three sides when I was finished. It gives the blanket the edging. Very pretty.
Debra Shelhammer oh I love that idea! Thank you so much! I think I will do that
I have made corner to corner u when u fold it.fold it at at the opposite corner of the blanket that's how u get the even edges it's folded like a triangle great job god bless you in all you do love your videos

The brick stitch looks a lot like the drunken granny stitch. I have made several drunken granny blankets and I love them.
Aura Harvey you are absolutely correct. Very very similar but ever so slightly different
Thank you! I thought I was doing something wrong when my blanket was not even lol
Thank you for sharing Debbie, I learn something new everyday. Very cool.
Smart use of that yarn. Looks very pretty. Thank you for sharing this tip. You are so generous in sharing your knowledge. Much appreciated.
Nice share, thanks! I like C2C; but haven't made a blanket. I'll have to give this a try. Love your blanket colors.

I think this is also called the crazy or tulip stitch. It's gorgeous!
I LOVE this info because I hate diagonal stripes but love doing that C2C stitch 🤘🏻💗
I am SO impressed with how your lapghan is turning out!!! WOW! Thank you for the alternative stitch idea... I still have yet, after a couple of years, to try the C2C pattern. I look forward to trying it...
I like those colors 😍
It looks very similar to Krista of the Secret Yarnery’s Drunken Granny stitch. Definitely worth a look! Thanks for sharing.
Jane Van Sickle you are correct. It is similar but slightly different. You have a great eye😀
Cool the leaning side to side thing looks pretty cool. Never would have thought to put odd ball cakes together 👍👍.
Luv yah 💕
I love c2c. I have never tried this brick stitch but I am always on the hunt for new lapghan stitches. Thanks for the share.

Those colors are very pretty, I've never made a c2c blanket. I started one and gave up, I really didn't care for it, but I really like your version.
cheryl heming and I think this might be a little easier
I like easy!
Thank you for sharing this tip, I have some new blankets to make for friends.
Looks very nice and thank you for that tip. I prefer going back and forth.
Thanks for the tip Debbie! ⚘🌿❤
Thank you so much for sharing!! Appreciate your time and your opinions. 😚

That is a lovely blanket🥰 and a good idea to use 2 strands👍👍 I am planning to make blankets for my daughters soon and this will work out great💖
Thank you, Debbie, for sharing your ideas and discoveries. I just love how you come up with stuff.

I’ve used that stitch for several items and heard it referred to as the tulip stitch. Whatever the correct name is I love!
wow! You are going way back in my videos. Thank you😁
Awesome. I was looking for something just like this.

Peggy Bayer awesome!
Thank you so much Debbie , for this stitch alternative ... GREAT
Thank you Debbie. I watched the video and it's easy. I've been afraid of C2C so this is a great alternative.
Your scraps are gorgeous!!!!!!!!!!! Another amazing blanket by you! Hugs xo
Hi Debbie. Thanks for the link. Love it!!! 4 + 2! 👍💚💐🐑

Gracie Kanalas if it is for a baby, don’t double strand it. I would think that it might be too thick.
Love th colors of your blanket
Cool, love the look of this stitch :) Tfs Deb!!
Thank you this elks so much. I see a lot of chairs around you table very nice.
yes, I have a huge table. It seats 18-20

Very pretty.. thanks for sharing.
I love how your scape blanket is coming along I will have to check into the brick stitch thank you for sharing this!!
The fortunes shawlette tutorial has a section on making the top straight. I am not sure, but it might work with a blanket.
auntyvernon, crochetnstuff I will have to look it up. Thank you very much
Thank you Debbie for sharing this alternative C2C. The lapgan looks very pretty. Love the colors, they all compliment each other.🥰
😁thank you Debbie! 💜I’m so glad I watched this before I started crocheting. I needed to made 2 baby blankets and I was going to use c2c. This is perfect!😁😃😃🧶🧶 🥰
Setta’s Place oh I hope you like it. I am pretty sure you will
Setta’s Place also....if you do a chain 2, it will be a tighter weave

I checked out the tutorial. Yes I like it! I will definitely be trying it. 😁😁💜
I like that stitch have to try.
Thank you for your explanation of the brick stitch ill try that with 2strands of bernat blanket together

Cindy Lillard yeah, I do the same but that being said, I have lost at the game of yarn chicken a few times while making a c2c
