WALKING AND WILD CAMPING ON THE NORTH DOWNS WAY | PART 4: MERSTHAM TO OXTED | TARP AND BIVVY

- Once again I was joined by another subscriber and good friend named Hambo (he has appeared in 2 previous videos) for Part 4 of the North Downs Way. This section was the shortest so far at just 8 miles from Merstham to Oxted in Surrey. In the next part I will be entering Kent! The walking was mostly easy going with only 2 steep sections but nothing quite as strenuous as Part 3 with Gary! There was a few interesting bits of history along this section, such as a derelict folly tower and another Victorian Fort. We wild camped in the woods again near Winders Hill and finished the section off in the morning.

That was a great Hike Tom and co.
Love the set up 👍
Dear Tom hope you’re well, I’m sure you did a video once of a hill wild camp in Buckinghamshire overlooking Princes Risborough, but I can’t seem to find it, every time we drive up the M40 I mention you to my wife about your camp video, it was when you was with a group camping and some lads went onto the hill and as soon as they saw you all they left lol.
whiteleaf cross hill mate, cheers. ua-cam.com/video/6dbWHQcgEHU/v-deo.html

Dont know if you've ever done it Tom but Cove Hithe beach north of Southwold is a stunning wild camp spot
i camped on thw cliffs near the church ruins a few years ago mate, it is amazing there and would def go back and try camping further north near benacre broad on the beach. cheers.
This is up my neck of the woods,Titsey place is a 10 minute drive away from me lovely place but you do get a lot of dog walkers in there i have thought about wild camping in there myself but it can get busy at times,Worth a visit to The Titsey house but it most likely will be closed at this time of year it's still a nice view and walk to it tho,Good video Tom as usual
Let's stop yawning , I'll see you in the morning 😊👍your welcome
love it! nicked lol cheers.
"Beaver Zoological Gardens"? or Beaver Water World & Reptile Rescue, shut down as a zoo back in late 2017.
They were evicted by their land lord and could not sort out new premises in time so the animals housed there had to be re-homed elsewhere.
They still operate a rescue service but on a smaller scale, not open to the public.
It just said beaver world on my map, which I thought was hilarious. Cheers for the update though mate.
@@TOM_OUTDOORS It is very close to the Titsey place...
There's a Badgers mount to the north east of there...
and a Pratt's bottom to the west of the Badgers Mount...
and if you make your way onto the london loop there's even a Badgers hole adjacent to Addington hills...
Great ration pack review... tell it as it is..😅
Best and only way to be! 👍
Awesome vid, I live in biggin hill, and went to school in
Oxted, so I know this area well! Titsey hill can be annoying after a long walk but it's a great feeling being at the highest point in south east england. If your about this neck of the woods again soon, I'd love to come for a walk with you!
cheers pal but i thought Leith Hill was the highest point in SE England, followed by Black Down? I'm doing Part 5 from that car park to Otford this weekend coming and need to do it with someone so we can car shuttle between the 2 locations. So the offer is there if you drive and want to camp.
@@TOM_OUTDOORS yes, I doubted myself then and googled it. Botley is the highest point of the north downs at 269.9 meters. But its 3rd highest in the south east!
I am just checking with work to see if I'm free but I will let you know!
@@TOM_OUTDOORS I've sent you an email mate.
