Good to see your video content again and hear your opinions. I agree whole heartedly with your fondness of Chiang Mai. Now I have no way near your life experience there. I’ve stayed for a total of probably 2 months in my 3 trips to Thailand. I just feel really alive there. Enjoyed tagging along on your walk and talk Jon. Thank you
I drive that road every Saturday to go to a Temple located on the other side of the Gate and I barely notice any of the businesses which are there, thanks for the walk and talk. Like you I just noticed the Taco Bell this morning. I agree 100% regarding Bangkok vs Chiang Mai.
Hi John hope you and your family have a great New year, sometimes you mention a legend when you are out having beers, just wondering which bar it is,my last trip I stayed mostly in Nimman but March I want to explore further
Thanks for the walk nice to see during low season too. Glad your ok too had not seen you post in awhile was hoping your ok as i knew you were motorcycling o the new bike 😉 PS: moat rats @10:51 next to trash😅
Thanks Jon. I would love to get a video on your favorite authentic thai food places with google maps locations. I would trust your judgement for the best food, even if a small place
Welcome back! When are you going to do a video on your wife's 5 favorite Thai restaurants in the CENTER of Chiang Mai for authentic Thai food? Video footage of the restaurants is not important. (I can watch people chew in the U.S.) I would be more interested in the info as to which restaurants she likes, and what she orders at each one. When I go to Chiang Mai restaurants recommended on English-language websites, the food is usually too sweet and generally not quite right. You can follow up with a video on Jon's favorite Indian restaurants in the CENTER of Chiang Mai.
What you thought was the condo you were looking for was actually the hotel side of Veerachai Court! I live across the soi from it in the older apartments complex--VERY inexpensive and right in the heart of the city! Thanks--as always--for giving me a current look at my Second Home! 🙂
I appreciate your channel Is a scooter necessary in Chang Mai? Bangkok, too me, is an example of a city where a scooter is not a necessity Stay safe & thank you
Another great video 👍 Jon I would like your advice, hope it’s not too much of a personal question, I have developed a large bald spot on my crown over the last few years, also my hair has gone kind of thin. I am considering taking the lot off, but I am scared. Did you find this difficult ? What advice would you give? You look good with a shaved head by the way. 🙏
I've traveled all over Thailand and been to Chiang Mai a few times. But it is one of the most disappointing places I've ever been to. It was so boring. I just do not understand why people rave about the place. Apart from the Tourist Sights, it is just a bland Thai City. Bangkok is far better, so much more to see and far more interesting. On each occasion that I went to Chiang Mai I really really wanted to like it because I had intentions of staying there for a while. But after a few days I had to continue traveling to other destinations because it did not live up to the hype. I suppose it's a place mainly for digital nomads based on the fact that you can get to cheap long-term accommodation there. But apart from that I think there's way better places to long-term in Thailand for sure.
I get you in this one - we live in Chiang Mai, just got back from a few days down in Hua Hin, walking my wife and our baby up the beach to get back to the hotel being inundated with "you want something to drink? Chair free" offers made me squirm, bro I live in Thailand, leave it out
It wasn’t overly exciting when I was there in January this year. It’s either my age or it definitely felt better in the early 2000s than now. I’ve noticed the same with Bangkok is that they seem to built out more than redevelop the centre.
First, the Roti Lady don't have any Michelin Star but she is the Michelin Guide, is pretty easy to understand the difference, it's like be able to run and finish a marathon (pretty impressive) or win a marathon (fucking unbelievable) . Second don't understand the difference between a lady spend her life with dedication using only healthy and expensive 100% coconut oil and a random girl fry in a shit margarine give you a soggy Roti, it like thinking than your video and Shindler's list are the same becouse I can both watching on a tv. That lady is a legend not the guy with a Chang beer at the end of the video that food deserve a taste not a shit poor quality bad portion overprice Taco Bell.

Good to see you again bro
Walking around Chiang Mai is fun, especially at night.

It's pretty predictable that an expat would, more likely, be treated as a tourist in Bangkok, it being 25x bigger than Chiang Mai.
Gidday mate what sort of money for condos 1 or 2 bedroom for sale that need a Reno or good condition near night bazzar
Cheers
They used to have a Taco Bell at Earls Court, it was there for a long time..
I'm in chiang mai right now it's a wonderful place. Let's collaborate if you have a chance.

Get over yourself FFS. You can live here for 50 years, you'll still look the same.

ever thought that maybe that roti stand IS good, and that's why it got a mich star?
it 10000000% does not have a star my friend, bib gourmand != star
Two a week. Brilliant
chiang mai is not a nightlife city. it's not even top 100 in the world for nightlife, nor top5 in thailand.

@@ChrisLivingInYork Bangkok is a proper nightlife city. Chiang Mai isn't.
