Yup. Leaking right of these same spots in my 2004 , at 220,000 k miles. Having to get oil changes every 2000 miles now and I was smelling the burnt oil on the engine from inside the car . Will look into replacing these ASAP
I just replaced the valve covers on my g and its leaking again around the tube seals. Do you think I can add rtv inside the boarder of the tube seals while the cover is on?
Thanks. Needed to know I have to order throttle body and plenum gaskets before I start. That's why I watched. Good vid, to the point without a bunch of useless time wasted.
what was the oil loss before and after the fix? i'm currently losing 2 to 3 quarts every 1000 miles but i do have a leaky valve cover gasket, just not leaky enough to reach the ground.
Both the wells in the back have oil leaking from the top of the well toward the bottom. You think it's just a simple gasket replacement that will fix it???
That’s the easy side... the other side is so much more of a nightmare imo, got both covers off at the moment and I’m dreading going in there to finish them off cause I never wanna do this job again lol
Anyone try to remove valve cover gasket by just removing the valve cover gasket...is there enough clearance?...even if the clearance if just 1/2 inch clear to remove it? I meant with minimal removal of other stuff...just the light stuff around it...
Yeah I thought I was going to do this myself but nope. Great video though. Thinking, should I replace the upper or lower plenum to gain some performance? Worth the cost?
What's the name of the line connecting to the valve cover ? I can't take mine off, I was trying to pull and wiggle it off but it won't come off. It even cracked on me and is as hard as pastic :(
I'm trying to get mine off too it's cracked on the side so is that a vacuum leak I got the code po422 I just saw the crack today looking for a leak and there it was in my face the hole time I changed my evap valve in the back of car and the one on the intake I can't get the fucking harness off to were I can get the hose off auto zone has a hose that's looks like it but it curved alil different I hope it will fit I don't want to go to dealer I might go to the junkyard they have a 03 infinity g35x I'm going to swap it
Hey man I'm replying from my fitness page. Sorry about that but yes I had to apply some gasket sesler around the entire inside of the valve cover so the gasket would stay in there and just in case for extra security of no leaks happening.
Best video hands down
Thank you! Explained it very well and clear. Will follow you to learn more if you do more videos
Thanks again
Thanks

That's one big assed fuel line over there on the drivers side! haha

You need a brand new valve cover, ur tube seals are no good and you cant replace them all u can do is to but a new valve cover. Fuckin nissan 🤦🏾♂️
Sam s you can add 350z and 370z to the list cause they do the same exact problem as the altima/ maximas
Love how you did this video you already have everything unbolted and showed step by step what to do man perfect video and this helped a lot
Thanks. Gonna throw on my plenum spacer at the same time
For the love of god, plug that intake next time. This is a very easy way to get shit in your engine.

Really its easy he told you every step hardest part is the valve cover gasket and there's more UA-cam for that

I have same problem, wht did you do to solve the problem.

loved the vid. just wish it went into detail on how properly replace the gasket itself. do i use this rtv silicone stuff? in the corners? fuck im lost

And I used RTV for it. I let it sit for about 30 minutes and then put the valve cover back in. Hope this helps
That’s a maf sensor not ait
Great vid, many thanks.
