Thank you I want to win but I don’t feel like celebrating when I know how badly my opponent was trying to win as well. I can celebrate with my team after the matches are over and l always learn things from my losses.
@@Noweria230 I'm 45 and the next fights will be in Portland on Feb 22nd. I should have them posted within a day or two. Then the Pans in March. These fights I'm happy with except the last fight I failed to get a sweep. I like fights with more movement and hate it when guys stall but his game plan worked well and he was a great competitor.
@@jiujitsuafter40 You are a great fighter, you have passed over many. Defeats serve as learning. I love jiu jitsu, I want to start and I like to see fights from older guys, they are an inspiration for me.
Nice matches my guy, I learned a lot from watching in these videos, I attend Carlos Machado gym in Dallas and im a blue belt. The last guy stalled a lot I thought he would be penalized, I really don't know IBJJF rules? Also, can anyone compete at IBJJF or is it only for competitors who have competed in previous tournament's, its look more advance as far as competition than Jiujitsu World League?
You've got great control and mat IQ! Seeing as this video was posted almost 2 years ago, are you still at blue or have you gone up to purple? Very inspirational to watch as an upcoming white belt!
I’ve been purple for 8 months now. I have uploaded quite a few competition videos since that match. I’m number one ranked at purple already in gi and no gi after winning multiple majors. I have a long way to go but it’s been a fun journey. Competing against adults at the worlds in a few weeks
@@adambrennan-smith5521 Its a mental game. Strategy is key and depends on points or submission only. I have most my matches from white to purple posted. Make sure you work hard on cardio. The one that gases out first usually loses even if they are better grapplers.
Definitely need more help there but I have improved since then. Also a division one wrestler BJJ brown belt just joined our gym and is helping me. I don’t mind pulling guard though because I’m confident in my sweeps
It was frustrating. In our first match I swept him and submitted. He wasn’t taking a chance on getting swept. Good game plan especially since I have the hardest time sweeping against north south
I think his game plan was solid. If you watch high level matches, they all watch the clock. This guy was getting into position and waiting as long as he could before he moved without being penalised. 20 seconds is the max. Preserving his energy.
The first match was in the ultra heavy division and then the second was in the Open. He definitely didn’t take any chances and played it safe in the north south position. My sweeps are pretty good everywhere else but at the time north south was my worst position to defend.
Good call I prefer to stay on top but I don't like standing matches so I pull guard a lot. Most of the big guys are content with 5 minutes of standing and it drives me crazy. It can get me in trouble sometimes but there has been very few that I have struggled to sweep. I need to get better at attacking from the bottom when that happens.
Not a very sportsman like for the guy at the end to just hold. Would have been cool if the ref stood you back up because blue gi wasn't trying to do anything but stall.
These guys are my current vibe. Slow & steady. >_
More than anything I like that you are humble in victory and defeat.

That first sweep was beautiful!
Thank you it’s unorthodox but I hit it often in many of my matches
Nice sweep!!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
This is probably the 5th vid I'm seeing of yours. I'm about to implement that sumi gaeshi TODAY!
Definitely play with it

Beautiful job. That dude was SPENT. ha ha
The first guy was a new blue belt. I was pretty new as well but more experienced.
@@jiujitsuafter40 Did you compete at Pans brother? I am over in Philippines so kinda out of touch but gonna go to try and watch some matches now.

can someone tell me why somepeople have two belts on at these?
They have one person wear If two competitors have the same color gi to help the ref identify them easier

As long as he moves every 20 seconds he can do that. It was up to the guy on bottom to escape
