Loved the commentary, made me think. My initial thought was to fold but listening I realized the options

wouldnt the 1 chip behind strat be better if Reichard was in the SB? That way he gets a to see a full orbit before be forced allin. Leaving behind a chip now doesn't help you ladder because you are allin next hand from the sb. Shouldn't he have left 150k behind, so if he gets called he still has a chip behind after posting the sb?

It would definitely be better if he was SB. As far as how much to leave behind, I'll leave that for Aaron to answer.

Agree on the logic, but leaving exactly a sb+one chip makes the bet look even moore supicious though.

So that´s the play to do with ATo, any 2 and flushes.

But again Riechard gets plenty of opportunities to fold along the way if Ausmus applies pressure but I feel you absolutely need to lead donk bet with that flop being in the BB to start the story at the very least. That’s why he got looked up.

Also pocket 44’s 66’s are good for Riechard. Plausable hands to call with short stacked in the bb.

Sick call on the river. I feel Riechard didn’t tell a good enough story. If I’m Riechard I lead donk flop bet small to start the story. It’s ok to get the call from AQ. I feel Reichard’s bb range is a little better and may take it down there with 2 short stacks or Asmus raises, just fold that’s ok. If it goes to turn, check-turn and try to get to river. And with that river then Riechard shoves leads all-in. He bet the flop the story is a little more believable and Asmus folds at that point. What do ya’ll think?

Thanks Josh! I made one solo episode called 7 tournament tips for running deep more often a few episodes back.
I'm also working on a course for low stakes players with Gary Blackwood and Tim Jenkins, which will go inside the Upswing Lab. That should start coming out in August!

Is this ever just an open jam with AQss at 18 BBs?

Shoving is a winning play, but if you can pull off the min-raise strategy with the proper range and a good postflop approach, you can win even more than the shove strategy.

You mostly want to min raise it from earlier positions or you could possibly limp it/min raise it from later positons.

Why is the commentary so surface level. If you think he should choose a small size because he’s extremely polar and busting is so bad, then should he ever go huge? If so, doesnt this hand make sense?
