- One fine day in 2008 Atul Dahale decided to reply 1.e4 with the Sicilian - the Sicilian Najdorf. As he made the move 5...a6, it seemed like love at first sight! Ten years have passed since then, and the love affair still continues. Atul has played 350 games with the Sicilian Najdorf. He has lost games, and has had some great experience in all the variations of this opening. He has decided to do a series where he talks about the Najdorf and helps you to understand the complex world of the opening which was played by legends like Garry Kasparov, Bobby Fischer and many others.
Atul Dahale is one of the first Internationally FIDE rated players from the small town of Parbhani in Maharashtra India. He loves the game of chess and enjoys the fact that he can travel to different places, meet people and make new friends thanks to chess. He is a strong chess player with a highest Elo of 2184. The host of the video is IM Sagar Shah.

Hi Atul... How are you bro? Missed your mail ID which you gave it to me long back at Tumkur university. Can you mail me? Good to see you again.
i generally just play the grand prix as white when i see c5
I prefer the najdorf twin - the sicilian scheveningen!
Keres attack.
@@acidburn1783 not so dangerous, and there are many move orders to avoid it.
It's not played very often in the top level these days. It's almost refuted these days. White gets a very good initiative against Scheveningen. I would love to play against Scheveningen any day rather than playing against Najdorf.
Najdorf and Taimanov are the most popular ones these days. Black has really good chances to equalize in the opening and fight for the win in Najdorf.
Can you please show me the lines in Scheveningen if which Black gets a slight edge or atleast equalize?
@@acidburn1783 Refutes is a very big word, give me one variation for white that can refute the opening, I spent 3 years on this opening didn't find a clear refutation, Kasparov played it, Najdorf played it, today duda plays this frequantly.
@@JihadChess I said almost. Lol I have been playing Sicilian all my life. Even Kasparov is well known for his Najdorf. Name any top GM, they all prefer Najdorf over Scheveningen. MVL, Carlsen, Hikaru, Anand, Topalov have been playing it as one of their main weapons. Scheveningen might have been used as a suprise factor . But other than that, I don't see how Scheveningen is a more ambitious try than Najdorf.
abe abhi tak yeh insaan super gm kyu ni banna itne games khelne ke baad bhai
Sir kindly solve my query thanks
Super passive Sicilian defence.... Wei yi has shown this many time....hate it...white is developing and black is making only pawn moves...
Only legends can play it perfectly
Not if you know the opening and know what you're doing on the board.
