@@16MedicRN Eagles typically make their adult nest within 50 miles of their original nest site. 50 Miles is not far for an eagle to traverse in a day and immature eagles are general nomads until they reach 5 or 6. And anyway, just let people believe, this nest has not had eaglets since Spirit so we all want to see her or imagine it's her and that she survived year one and is out there thriving.

There have been studies done ( Broley 1947, Wood and Collopy 1995, Mojica 2006) in Florida, and while the subadults stayed about a year in the area, most left the area and some were found as far away as the Great Lakes, into Canada, and even Newfoundland 😊🦅 Info can be found at Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. It's fun, though, to wonder if they may be stopping by 😍

That’s how they learn. You can’t always depend on mama. I watched the same thing with the blue jays and sparrows that I feed in my backyard this spring. They’d follow mom, squawking at her and flapping their wings and she fed them before she ate. After a few weeks she just ignored them, and they’d go get their own peanuts/nuts I’d thrown. It was crazy because the “babies” were all bigger than the mom.

Often wonder why Bette &Baker @LMC were quite very patient with youngsters. Though not about food/fish, they just let it land on their nest and as a young human child playing, scatter the arranged sticks lol. And the resident just simply watched with curiosity or perhaps in awe😂
Shadow most likely is checking out the area after those fireworks 💥 OR he’s out gathering fluff for the nest 🪺 either way, he’s around, he loves her so. ❤️

I'm confused. I don't tune in that often, but have been following them for several years now. My last visit was sometime in December, and I saw 2 eggs in the nest, but now there are no eggs or chicks in the nest. I did think that it was rather early for eggs, though. Was I actually watching an old video? Or did the eggs fail and get removed from the nest, or did some critter get them. Well, I'll just have to keep checking in periodically.
