    Question…I know the coatings are prone to water spots while they go on their week curing time

    Can I use that as a topper over those exo and csl to prevent water spotting?

    • @MirandaDetailing

      @@MirandaDetailing user error on my part. I messed up and left a couple high spots ( first time using a coating) when I applied it back in October, but it worked Excellent after I applied 3.0 and Gloss v2. Then after a few weeks I wanted to see how Essence Plus would work on top of them since it's supposed to be a booster in gloss and help the coating, but it took away the hydrophobic priorities for some reason on the spots that I polished. So I have just have been maintaining it with a mix of Sonax BSD ( you need to try it 💯) and Meguiars Ceramic detailer. Crazy water beading!!! Just got my delivery of CSL and Exo in last week so just need to find time to apply it.

      @@LilRick96 Essence Plus will do this. It is not the best hydrophobics which is why I don't recommend it to anyone using it over a coating. You would have been better using one of the spray products you mention. You could have easily removed Essence Plus with a decon wash as it is not that durable. Even by itself expect to get about 3 months before it starts to fade away. Your Cquartz Coating will be revived.

    I also have the Evora 400 and from the factory has PPF installed.
    On the doors the PPF is only a 12"+/- strip (from the bottom of the door up) and is not applied on every panel.
    Will using the coatings give a different look over PPF vs paint?
    Is is worth using the coatings over a PPF or should I just work around the film, applying only to painted surfaces?
    If you do suggest using on the PPF are there any additional steps to take?
    Thanks

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  2 роки тому +3

      Hi. You can totally use pretty much any Ceramic Coating over PPF. Gtechniq also have HALO which is specifically made for PPF. they claim its thicker and doesn't absorb into the PPF as much and offers better protection, but it only last 2 years or so But you can also use CSL or CSU over PPF and its fine. You can lightly polish and penal prep PPF just like paint, just don't heavily compound it or anything.

      @@MirandaDetailing I find that I’m using way too much product , I use the applicator that comes with it I like it but feel that it absorbs so much feel like I need to add a lot more and use more product than needed not sure but I always drop the pad or it gets discolored like it picked up a little dirt so I’ll change to a new one but it still takes me forever to apply only 1 layer of coating it’s just myself working and applying but I find that I have to do half the car and stop take a break do the other half like today took 6 hours to apply 1 layer what can I do better

      Wow! That’s certainly a long time. It really shouldn’t take that long. Sorry you’re having a hard time with it. Keep practicing and learning.

      @@MirandaDetailing It seems that it was a little cooler than I thought but definitely took a minute or two for flash time
      How can I get faster at it when first starting applying them ? Was it taking a little longer when you first applied them ?

      It just takes time. Temps do make a difference. But you also don’t have to wait to for the coating to flash completely. Once it starts to evaporate and separate you can start to level and wipe. I also sometimes use the towel like a fan and wave it to add air movement and that helps the coating flash faster also.
