What would you have changed about Halloween Ends?
I would’ve introduced Corey Cunningham earlier in Halloween 2018. He was a good character, felt like they could’ve done more with his character. Lots of Easter eggs in the movie.... the opening and ending credits mimicked Halloween 3, in one scene the song “don’t fear the reaper” is playing, which is a callback to the original Halloween. I thought the ending gave a perfect send off to the trilogy... only thing I wished for was for Michael to say something.

Michael would have won and the police would have been more competent. I want Michael to leave ghost towns in his wake. I always thought of Michael being a person posessed by a demon and only his bloodline could stop him or be possessed by the demon. This trilogy totally sucked goats. This will be remade again, I just hope they have a story where everyone dosen't have to be a complete and total bonehead for it to work. Let's make Michael scary again!
I would scrap the whole movie and start over. It felt like they put zero effort into this movie

And just to confirm that, in ENDS Michael got to Laurie's New House bc he was followin Corey and it just happens that he saw her again..and Michael even decided to leave her alone and went straight back to his sewer..He eventually Snapped when Corey took his mask..so Michael Knew Corey was Aimin towards Laurie's house bc he was datin Allyson, so he Followed Him and welp yall know the rest.

What was very weird and unlogical to me is why Michael suddenly can be killed by slitting his throat and wrists. Like wtf, he survived so many things any normal human wouldn't survive, but this is suddenly too much for him?! That's just stupid....
A theory to Michael's Strength....The mask was made by the same factory that was in Halloween 3 and as a result gives the wearer extra supernatural strength. Hense why Corey became so strong. Everytime the wearer kills- the mask gives them more power. Calling to its wearer constantly.

What you've got to factor in from the original film(which this is based on)....Michael Myers was a psychiatric patient that escaped and just so happened on Halloween, so he steals a random mask and goes on the hunt. So my theory to his supernatural strength and cories makes more sense. The mask has a power to it- which makes its wearer powerful. It makes sense to me anyways.

3:51 was my biggest problem. How was he weakened when they made him seem so triumphant at the end of kills? Him slaughtering that mob should've "transcended" him more than ever plus having 4 years to heal and kill more ppl.... dint make sense at all

It explains it in the novelization. He was weakened by the long term effects if his injuries due to infection. The 3nd of kills was a last stand of sorts. One last burst of adrenaline
I don't think that he was really weakened. He more likely did it on purpose, to pass the mantle, and to retire, what in his case means to die. He only returned, bcz he felt, that the young guy would not sucseed.

As far as the original Halloween movies are concerned, Michael Myers cannot die. This realization occurs during the Jamie Lloyd Halloween sequels, where it is revealed that Michael cannot die due to the Cult of Thorn curse placed upon him as a child. This possessive curse simultaneously awarded Michael with strong supernatural abilities which help to prevent his death and instead keep him focused on killing his entire bloodline. The powerful curse appears as a star constellation in the sky that only happens on Halloween night. As a result, Michael’s death is strongly prevented by a strong astrological power and the ancient protection of the Thorn curse.
In the newest Halloween trilogy, Michael is not controlled by the druid curse, and is instead fueled by hatred and rage for everyone and anyone. Additionally, Laurie insists that with each kill he performs, the more powerful and immortal he becomes. Therefore, his supernatural abilities may still be there, but for an entirely different reason as compared to prior timelines.
This is true however not completely, In the original movie John Carpenter himself said that Myers is a man with a supernatural edge to him , we don't know to what degree he is supernatural but we do know he is a man and is somewhat supernatural which is why at the end he doesn't die he just disappeared... he is the Boogeyman. That was supposed to be the end of Halloween, Carpenter didn't want to make a sequel but he was kinda forced to and in Halloween 2 he wanted to make sure Myers officially died at the end...which he did. Halloween 3 was completely different and didn't have Myers because Carpenter wanted to move on from Myers and make an anthology series but it wasn't well received by fans so they made Halloween 4 (Carpenter had no part in making it) the people who made H4 made the ending they did also to finish the story for good, it wasn't made with the intention of introducing the cult of thorn, Halloween 5 added the man in black and thorn symbol but never explained what it was, the creators of H6 had to take what they were given from H5 and added the thorn cult, so in actuality the way Myers is portrayed in the new movies is actually how he was supposed to be based off the 1st movie, he is only a man with a supernatural side to him.
The Sequel was great , as a kid watching 1 and 2 simultaneously, scared the shut out of me. I'm 38 and loved them. Went to see 5 n 6 in movies. But I enjoyed the rob zombie. The second one with the hospital scene was pretty intense.

I'm pretty sure michael's legacy will continue but with a different story and different writers and producer. The fact that laurie keep michael's mask, or maybe the reason why she kept the mask is just to get more idea about the book she writing about or even something else.. Who knows in the future what will happen on michael's mask

Halloween Reborn (2023)
Both the Original Michael Myers from Halloween 1-6 (The Cult of Thorn backstory) and the H2O-Resurrection (No Cult Backstory) is still Alive and are the same age as the Blumhouse incarnation if the next production wishes to go in those directions OR start a new timeline where Michael's origins took place in the somewhere in decade of 2000s and go from there. No Laurie Strode, just Doctor Loomis and a new final girl to do battle with The Shape.
They can do the dream route also
Hmm, I think we misunderstood the movie. Michael did something to Corey in the cave after that he started killing, Laurie also noticed Michael eyes in him, Michael clearly isn’t human as mentioned in the last movie even tho she called him that in Ends. He got stronger as the movie went on.

There's never been a specific reason for why Michael Myers kills. He's supposed to be a mystery whose motives aren't supposed to be known to us. Maybe he's just a random killer, that's how John Carpenter intended him to be.
Carpenter never intended for Michael to continue past the first one....everyone's hating the ending but the truth is they would have hated it no matter what. The brilliance of the mystery in the franchise was also its downfall as the more you explain the more you divide the fanbase

A potential spinoff or sequence could start when Allyson realizes she is pregnant with Corey's baby. The baby, however, carries Corey's inner darkness. The baby could then ultimately takes up the mask; proving that evil never dies, it just changes shape! 🔪🎃
I don't think evil is genetic. I think Corey became evil because of stuff that happened to him. Also if you have Corey's child become evil there is no reason why they would be particularly strong or regenerative. Lastly it would have to be set at least 18 years into the future. I would prefer they start over.
It would of been interesting if Corey became the new Michael Myers, or at least show us their plans for the murders or how they traveled around
When you see the first Halloween of the three new ones, you can see that hé is not a young man anymore and after so many Death PTSD will also take his toll on Michael.

The real question is why they made a spin-off movie instead of what was suppose to be a conclusion to the Halloween trilogy
Another question is I thought the owner of the Film, who owns the rights to Halloween, had written specific language in the contract that Michael never dies, why did he die in Ends? If David Gordon Green kept with the four core characters of 2018 and Kills (Laurie, Alyson, Hawkins and Lindsey), and carried them through to Ends and not introduced Corey, which nobody understands why Green introduced this character at the end of a trilogy, then this movie would have been more successful and better received by its loyal fans.
So do you think it's more likely that the right holders will sue Green soon, once they learn of what he's done, or that you thought wrong?
well they killed him before, they just have to bring him back and its ok. in this case a new timeline will do it.
At the beginning of the movie there is an audio bit explaining that the Myers home has been demolished. That is why Michael is hiding in the sewers and weak
I think micheal killing people is what makes him strong, cuz in the cave he hasn’t killed in 4 years and Corey easily beat him and took his mask, but he was stronger when he killed somebody…
My biggest question is, how did they screw it up so bad...
2:30 They really did answer this, Michael is the antithesis of that feeling of extrahuman strength people can muster when seeing someone in danger, like picking a car off a child. Michael is the opposite of this feeling, and wants to kill you with such instinctive intent that he can consistently tap into that extrahuman limit.
This is answered in the sewer with the kid, Michael is nearly dead, fading, weak and un-opposin, and only when he is offered a kill that he has to move towards does his strength start to return. This is also perceived by the kid, and understood as a fuel of sorts for Michael(though this is blatantly incorrect and isn't the only ingredient to what Michael does).
The kid even tries to come back from a fatal wound as he knows Michael does, and succeeds in doing it once, but Michael snaps his neck-- which was quite symbolic of Michael being very unique even when the proper ingredients are added to someone else's life. Not super powered, but has left the normal realm of thinking so far that his limits are different, which has been proven possible many times medically. Not saying his wounds are heavily based in reality or anything, but there is a basis and explanation for what Michael is laid out in this movie, and I knew it would fly over some heads. Nice video otherwise!
Pretty sure throughout the trilogy the point was Michael wasn't interested in Laurie (Dr sartain bringing them together in 2018, him not coming for her in the hospital in kills, him following Corey on his killing spree in ends that happened to lead to Laurie). 2018 was really good, kills could have been good but for the ending and some awful dialogue (evil does tonight times 100). Ends was awful. They should have left it with the 2018 sequel in my opinion. Money talks though unfortunately. Might have been interesting to see how they would have taken it if covid hadn't hit, as believe the original plan was for all 3 to be over the same Halloween night, but suspect a similar trajectory given how the quality deteriorated in this trilogy.

They still could have set the movie on the same night. They filmed Halloween II years after the first and it was set on the same night.
Only in Kills is it suggested Michael wasn’t after Laurie. And you’d have to consider the sources and their perspective. To Hawkins it may have looked that way and good a character as he is, his insight is lacking. And to Allyson too it may have looked that way cause she was in the patrol car with Sartian. But you have to remember that not only did Sartian talk on Michael’s obsession so did Aaron Corey, the investigative podcast journalist. Sartian was obsessed with Michael and Michael knew it. He knew Sartian would lead him to Laurie eventually. No one can come away after watching the trilogy and confidently say Michael was not after Laurie.
He wasn’t interested. Laurie is the obsessed one.
Well you can tell you don’t know the basis of why Michael was created in the original Halloween.
There was never rhyme or reason. He simply kills. Laurie is actually AFTER MICHAEL in this trilogy. Not vise versa
This movie sucked, it was basically Halloween ends starting new comer Corey, with Laurie as second Banana and guest starting Michael, I don't know what they were taking
The biggest question is how much time did they spend coming up with the plot for the final chapter? Did someone at the writing table just toss out the evil transference idea and that's all they had? It was a let down and no delivery to such a long running story. It ends up being 20% Michael and 80% other stuff. The final fight scene between Michael and Laurie wasn't even all that intense.

Obviously Looper hasn't watched the movies... They make it clear that Michael doesn't care about Laurie. Also,why did Laurie and Allyson suddenly stop? Have you ever experienced the sudden loss of a parent or child? Grief is different for everyone. I know by experience though my grief over an unexpected and traumatic death of a loved one,changed very profusely. I looked for peace and resolution in my life,I didn't sweat the small stuff that much,and just became a calmer,less angrier person. Laurie and Allyson changed because of their grief.
Good point. They say Laurie stopped drinking and got therapy. It is possible that given that she had spent 40 years obsessed with Michael, who it turns out was NOT obsessed with her, and who wouldn't have gone after her if Sartan hadn't arranged for it, that she didn't want to waste MORE time living in fear. She lost custody of her daughter. She lost the time she could have spent with her. Maybe she just thought- I got to live NOW and yes that may be a risk but I'd rather live in the now than in the worry of a future attack. Not saying everybody would do that but I can believe some people would react to a death that way.
Actually most of these were explained by the director or straight up shown in the movie.. Also if you watched the previous installments it is explained that Michael isnt actually going after Laurie strode.. dr sartain puts Michael in Laurie’s path due to his obsession. Like I said.. a lot of these “unanswered” questions are touched on by the director or just shown or explained if u payed attention
Read the official novelization it answers these questions, it actually picks up from the night of 2018. It really expands on the movie
This film is a travesty. It's a travesty of a mockery of a sham of a mockery of a travesty of two mockeries of a sham.
When the film ended, I turned to my wife and said "This is just a hoax. I was hoping JLC would appear during the credits and say something like "Gotcha! The REAL release of Halloween Ends will be out soon!". But that didn't happen.
Quite frankly I cannot believe this film got released. There have been a few stinkers in the franchise but this one reaches new depths and redefines what a "stinker of a release" means. Debra Hill must be rolling in her grave. I think my son summed it up quite well, after a flurry of expletives and quoting Fielding Mellish, he said "What a farce".

One is why is Michael Myers mask so messed the F up? You can't even see his eyes. It's like he was destined and just wanting to die by Laurie. The movie is just so terribly made that it isn't even a Michael Myers movie. It's more of a Corey Cunningham movie and I was actually more into his part of the movie than all of Michael Myers combined. His story was actually built up, which for David Gordon Green is very rare.

Like so many other series. They will go back start over again. Rob Zombie failed to do it but I could see someone remaking the original and then continuing it. Again.

The ending I feel was amazing too. What got me is when they played “Don’t Fear the Reaper” by Blue Oyster Cult when the final shot was Michael’s Mask on a table. Any Halloween fan would know that is a homage to when Laurie was getting a ride from Annie Bracket and that song was playing in her car

He does not exist in this time line. Laurie is also not Michael's sister as that was brought up in Halloween 2 and in this timeline NOTHING but original Halloween happened before Halloween 2018. I think a lot of people didn't realize this although it was in all the publicity for 2018,
Why does Michael let the homeless guy who sits outside the sewer live? Especially if all he needed was a few kills to regain his power.

That was just so the movie could make a statement about victim blaming. They never actually teased Michael. He was locked up at the age of six and broke out of the mental hospital when he was a grown man. Laurie and her friends never knew him in 78.

The Corey thing coud have worked if he had been in the first two movies.
They did the "Michael's evil passes on" thing before at the end of Halloween 4, with his niece Jamie stabbing her foster mom while dressed in a clown suit similar to the one Michael wore when he killed Judith.
In Halloween 5 however this is completely ignored.

If anyone has actually watched these movies, micheal doesn't care about Laurie at all, it's by design there paths met. He didn't escape to go after Laurie, he escape to go home, on kills it clearly states he doesn't even acknowledge Laurie at all. In ends he didn't come to her, he was simply was just trying to get his mask back from corey , So that question was answered before ends even came out.
They are mixing up timelines, in the original timeline Michael and Laurie are related and he has to kill all of his next of kin to release the curse or thorn
This isn't the last we will see of Michael Myers guarantee they will make a remake or sequel something

1. The town has been hit with mass hysteria, depression, suicides, and no one even celebrates holidays anymore. It’s basically a pandemic
2. He’s hiding because he’s not some god. He still needs a place to sleep and eat and be sheltered. He also can’t just walk around like an NPC because of reasons I’ll get too later.
3. Michael Myers was like Dracula and he turned a bunch of people into vampires that now canabalize their once happy and quiet little town. He’s the boy consumed by pure evil who than spread it outward
4. The police obviously exist as they were at the end of the movie but because Michael isn’t just walking around (on some dumb shit. Seriously why did you even ask that?) they don’t have a particular place to be until Laurie says she’s gonna kill her self
5. Same as question 3 he has superpowers and can spread his evil both physically and sociologically. (Passively and actively) most of it is probably not even on purpose.
6. Neither of them. Michael has not POSSESSED Cory he’s only infected him. Cory makes his own decisions and CHOOSES to be Michaels disciple because evilness is ultimately a choice that we all have the potential to make/partake in (just like the mob CHOSE to be all rowdy last movie)

Blumhouse was making a trilogy to say who’s the true evil? Michael Myers or the people surrounding him? First movie was the doctor and also the e pod casters kind of trying to stir up trouble. 2nd movie the town with their “evil dies tonight.” 3rd movie was the town turning Corey who was by all accounts a good kid who accidentally killed someone into a pariah and bullied him into the “next Michael Myers.” While I got what the movie makers were doing and I always like that Halloween had a point because Michael was always killing people while he had a specific victim in mind, they messed up with this series. I don’t need to be lectured to in my horror movies.
And where’s Michael’s couch and TV in his lair?

Halloween "Kills" and "Ends" both sucked. The transition between those two movies was erratic at best. "Ends" was a sorry ass sign-off to a otherwise legendary movie. The Corey kid was a "waste of script paper". I went into that movie assuming,,,,, "Well at least Jamie Lee Curtis and Danny McBride will provide a decent storyline to finish this off" ! But no,,,,,, it wasn't meant to be. RIP MICHAEL MYERS

I did quite like Halloween ends and I loved that end has a final end to him, that end scene with him on top of the car and going in the grinder was pretty awesome........buuuut I did find Michael and Corey teaming up a tad odd. Michael has never seemed the type to want a killing partner 😒 🙄.
I figure he was mangled a bit from the townfolk in Kills and also was older and kind of wanted an apprentice.
