Awesome video! It's been quite sometime since I've been to Coyote Flats/Funnel Lake. Such beautiful scenery. Would like to get up there again one day. Thanks for sharing!
Do you think this is doable in a 2wd 4runner? these cars are very capable with a driver who knows what they are doing, I'm just curious if you think its like a 100% no for a 2wd or a maybe
I’m wondering if 35’s (which are small 35’s...measure closer to 33’s (not happy about it)), and my 3” lift is enough to run the Rubicon...I know it’s possible, but this is my daily driver....do you think the Rubicon trail would destroy me?!
@@mitchsargent5543 stock rigs with open diffs have ran the rubicon. Once i get my rig back up and running we should run john bull trail. If you can get thru bull you should be able to do the rubicon. It does say it on your hood afterall!
Very nice video & Jeep! With the route you took from B.P did you encounter any really tippy parts on the trail? I've gone the other way from the next town up (easy) but have wanted to go from B.P. Not a lot of info but what I have read is that there are potentially dangerous off camber sections. Appreciate any info.
It’s probably about 2 hours, depending how fast you rip the fire road sections. In this video, I did not take the Bishop route; that road is slightly longer, but easier.
@@josephchan7040 See the Gaia link I sent you for the route I took. I believe it took about 3.5 hours. But I stopped a few times to take pictures, so I'm sure it's possible to do it quicker. I recommend 4x4 and high clearance for sure as there's a couple tricky sections.
There's an easy way, and a more difficult way. We mistakenly went the harder way. Took a little spotting, but wasn't too intense. If you don't have 4x4 and high clearance, I'd recommend the easier route.
@@mitchsargent5543 Can you share the easy way? The trail to Coyote Lake I know of is a killer trail. Are you sure this is Coyote lake and not Funnel lake or one of the many others up there? Always wanted to go to Coyote lake. Thanks
Great video. At 1:53 you show a "most difficult" sign posted on the trail. Is this sign referring to the trail into Funnel Lake or is this on the way up to the flat itself?
There's a couple different routes to Funnel Lake you can take! We went (by chance) the harder route. When we discussed the route with some other adventurers, they were surprised that way was open! "Coyote Valley Road" is the easier route...we went via 32E303.
Hey! I've got the Rock Krawler 3" "Max Travel" Stage 1 lift. It's ok--a little too soft IMO. Tires, Dick Cepek 35" Fun Country. Great traction, but they're actual size is small...measure 32"...won't buy again b/c they're too small.
@@raycabrera941 Hey, sorry! I didn't see this comment until just now! I ran the Rock Krawler brand shocks that came with the suspension lift. They were garbage! Way too soft! So now I have Fox 2.0 w the remote reservoirs...they're MUCH better!! They're much more progressive and handle both highway and off road much better!

Great to see a view of the route up from Big Pines!
Such a good job with this video man! Coyote Flats is amazing. Fun to watch it through your perspective.
Hey! Thank you bud!! More videos coming soon!
Beautiful! Follow TrailRecon and noticed you went past the area where he turned around with his convoy. Nice to see!
Oh I'll have to check their video out!! We had to turn around trying to get to Green Lake b/c there was still snow!
Trail recon is for old guys who like to be in bed before 8:45 pm every night.
Great job!!!

nice run, we enjoyed our recent trip up there.

We need to run the Rubicon or dusy ershum , in the garage as I'm watching putting my new rear diff together

There are a couple tricky sections, the hardest parts are in the video. Not too bad if you have a decent rig!

Cool video bud. You made it to Coyote Lake in your Jeep? How was the trail there? I’ve seen some videos and the trail looks ridiculously difficult

That's not part of the route into Funnel Lake. I went last year and don't recall anything hard that you can't handle in a basic Jeep.
