Great video. Do you know when the best time to graft persimmon? And if so, what type of grafting works best? Thanks.

Actually, what I meant was using one variety for the rootstock and another for the scion. For example, just growing a seedling of say a Kent, and grafting a Mallika bud onto it. Would that work?

Excellent videos. I will try it as soon as I grow some decent root stock. Can I graft different mango varieties together? Also, how do I harvest the scion/budwood.

Quick question Richard, is it possible to just clone the mature avocado scion with rooting hormone and rock wool and a humidity dome? Would the results be the same as grafting on a seedling? Thank you...

Thank you. I noticed that most veneer grafts are onto young seedling tree. Would it work with a more mature tree?

Thank you for such an informative video. Would you please clarify for me... So the mango grafting season is in the summer, but they start getting swollen in the fall? How does that work out? I thought you have to have scions that are swollen.

    Dr Richard.@farichildgarden
    Hello
I recently went on a trip to Puerto Rico. My uncle had a basket of small kidney shaped (literally 5" long and not that big), green colored mangos (nice dark golden flesh, no fibre). I went through the process of Germinating/Planting the seed and is now about 8-10" from soil level (as of mid August). I had two rootstock shoots come from that seed (this is what leads me to believe it may be a Nam Doc Mai or similar, based on color and shape of pictures I've seen). To cut a long story short, since the seed sprouted two rootstock, is it necessary to GRAFT the young trees? I read that Polyembric seeds grow true to the fruit you got the seed from. Is it wiser to just go ahead and graft regardless of the seed type (mono or poly) for the purpose of advancing the growing/fruiting stages of the tree?
    Thanks for all you do.
    Chris

Hi, thank you for all the information.
I have a question; the grafted scion has grown and shows a few healthy leaves in the rootstock, how long do I have to wait untill I cut the upper rootstock completely from the new tree?
