Do Bull Moose Do Funny Things? Darn Right They Do
We’ve been waiting to share this one with you. We dug thru the files and came up with several amusing encounters and produced a fun video for all of us to enjoy.
We decided to go without Libby’s narration on this one and just list the different encounters here in the story line.
At 0:17 seconds we have last year’s funny encounter with AW Root Beer bull.
At 1:04 seconds it’s the delightful sparring session of Turkey and FT23 in 2022.
At 1:27 seconds King James shows some photographer that we don’t know that it is not advisable to leave your gear unattended or get within his comfort zone. Not a good idea at all!
At 1:43 seconds Grumpy showed us what he thought of our Go Pro camera, followed by Mr Pibs and his fascination with another Go Pro last year. Those cameras are great tools to get location information, but the moose tend to find them too.
At 2:52 seconds Left Hook and his rut pit are documented. It was hilarious.
At 3:24 seconds we have the unforgettable encounter with Mona the moaner. Can’t help but wonder what the huge bull named Sarge thought about the whole thing.
At 4:33 seconds we share another unforgettable encounter with CC and Boris. The year was 2020, and CC was having a heck of a time removing his velvet, and Boris offered no help. Grumpy would have been glad to demonstrate how it’s done (coming to a video soon).
At 4:52 seconds we wrap up with some of our favorite moose wearing branches and other assorted garnishes in their antlers.
Thanks for watching today, and we’ll work on another one of these to share soon.

Very nicely done here!! I just love this wonderful collection of "funniest moose moments". Is there ever any wonder if the big boy wants to be noticed, then he will surely show up and prove to all passersby that his "head gear" is no joke. It's often noticed that some bulls have to take it out on some bushes, or do other unusual acts. What can any solitary bull that has already claimed a pit, do with that irritating "tripod"?? Nonetheless after knocking it down, he might realize that it fled the scene. Our beloved "Moana" the singing cow moose always charmed her way to impress the big boys with her irresistible music. This bull tries to give his undevided attention to the bedded down cow. During her restful period, he still pokes his hoof at her trying to get her attention until she has to show him the "ins and outs" of things. Uh oh!! Bread and butter!! The big boy is only trying to catch a break, while the youngster wants to fling his head gear around him, and abruptly gets him up just to do that. Funny moose!! I just love it!!!!😂😂😂😂

Hey Dan nice to see you again. Yes, this was a compilation of some fun moments over the years. Gotta love that Mona, huh? Such a diva! So dramatic. Poor Sarge seemed embarrassed there, like do you mind? you're making our presence throughout the valley. That clip of Turkey getting the bedded Flat Top up was priceless, love how he wound up to deliver that little poke that got FT out of bed to spar with him. (They sparred for hours that snowy day, it was magical.) So much fun here, thanks as always for the comment Dan!

Well, who will say after this video that moose are not the best🫎🤎❤️? The cutest, most charming, funny, a little naive, but very independent! I love their style of communication (Moana - hello!👋🤣), the way these big guys jump like fluff)), I love everything about them!😍

Not moments one usually sees in videos of moose here, are they Lidia.😄 Such fun. Antics of the youngster tearing up that GoPro (it's survived that and a bear playing with it, they're tough!) Mona the diva and an embarrassed Sarge waiting for her to come around...Root Beer (AW) impatient, trying to get his lady out of his pit...and of course the accessorizing. 🌿🥰 Gotta love a moose!

They are silly sometimes. I love when they walk away after raking with stuff in their antlers. I am glad they have some fun out there. Moose rule❤❤🫎🫎☕️☕️👸

Thanks Tricia. Love these moments, what a riot that drama queen Mona is, she embarrassed Sarge who hid in the trees there waiting for her. And of course there was that young impatient Root Beer and his cow. Sometimes it's pure fun filming out there!🥰🤭❤

Those cows seem more silly than the bulls. Thought the headdresses are fun. Do you ever use drones for filming?

Some fun stuff here for sure, skline. And no, drones are illegal in state and national parks.

Great shots all! I'm surprised that no one has mentioned the guest appearance of the other photographer (Assuming it's Rick)
while Mona is declaring her undying love at about 3:24 - 3:30 into the video. Dead center almost - approximately 20 yards behind and between Sarge and Mona.

First of all, GREAT opening shot! Second, are bull moose reluctant to mate? Makes me worried that their numbers would dwindle. The poor cows who are openly ready don't seem to get any payoff. Third, I'd love to see a clip of how you set up to take these videos. I imagine when it's springtime in Alaska, there are lots of huge mosquitos around when it rains. How do you protect yourselves? I love your channel!

Thanks so much kathryn, and thanks for joining us! OK so first off, the bulls are very ready but the cows here are not. They want to wallow in the rut pits the bulls have dug. They are drawn to the pheromones the bull gives off, it's to them an intoxicating perfume. It's a way for the bulls to keep them nearby until they are ready. We should do a behind the scenes video that's a great idea. And as for spring time in AK well it's hardly different than anywhere else. We live in New Hampshire and here we have mosquitoes and biting black flies. We wear protective clothing to safeguard from deer ticks. They're a huge problem in the northeast. Thanks for the comment and questions and welcome aboard!
