Thank you @Basement Picasso for creating this video.
I too think the price of these extra textures is too high, so I'll be waiting for a sale to buy any more than just one of the wood texture packs to experiment with. Your Rebelle videos are alll most enjoyable and well paced.
Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated
I paid for Rebelle 5, 6, and now 7. 7 Was very discounted, but I've still paid a lot of money to Escape Motions. I feel that they should give me the whole paper suite for free. These papers look really fun, and I'm sad that I may never be able to enjoy them.
Yes, they are quite expensive by comparison. I do think that they are slightly overpriced
thank you
You're welcome
I have found you can take canvas textures directly out of the file that krita stores them. They are not perfectly seamless but it's free and there is some interesting textures like wood and even a brick wall. They are larger than 256x256.. since they are large you may not even have a seam depending on how big the canvas is.
Yes, there are good (free) texture resources online as well. I have used both tiled and non-tiled textures, and I use some of my own as well. The only issue is that you don't get the nano-pixel level detail with them.
@@BasementPicasso So, are the official Rebelle canvas textures much higher resolution "under the skin," so to speak? To give NanoPixel something to do its calculations on?
@@GrantSR I don't believe so, I think they use two separate textures - the regular texture and the nano-texture at a different scale - but I don't know for sure. Just the way it appears to work.
I bought four sets. I'm ok with it. I got two sets canvas and two sets paper.
Yeah - I have quite a few (but not all) and am also experimenting with my own textures as well.
Do you know what canvas acts like wet and wet oil.
Hi Mark. The oil/wetness is a feature of the brush engine, not the paper, so watercolours or oil paints can be used with any canvas / paper / surface in Rebelle including all the default ones + any pack they sell - or you can make your own textures as well. hope that helps.
@Basement Picasso I read from an escape motions post that a few of their papers were made that came made special for oil wet and wet. These are ca03 ca04 ca05 ca06 ca07 ca08 ca12. They said these were all coated . Which if I understand work different then a fill with white. I do not have any of these to try as they are in the buy packs.
@@Megzamani Interesting. I have some of those papers so I will dig into this a little more …
@Basement Picasso the article was on the escapemotions website and made by a em person named Veronica
at this price, i wish they'd sell them solo for 1/3rd price. It doesn't feel good buying a pack of 3 when I am interested in one- that nearly perfectly mimics a sketchbook that is now updated with different paper, therefore after I run out I will only have the Rebelle facsimile. I am not interested in one of them at all, not my style.. had to buy all three though, so here I am.
Yes, I agree. And with the way they are working in Rebelle 7, which is pretty poorly if you try and use them with impasto, I am starting to move away from using papers altogether.
