Im actually really happy to see a home like this where it’s not completely out of control. It really shows the scale of mental health and the spectrum of magnitude but it also validated that no matter how light or severe your problems are you are still worthy of help and a beautiful clean home.

@@sarahwass6249 I know exactly how you feel, I've been there. Depression causes such shame, it's a vicious cycle. Not going to tell you to just ask for help, I know it's not that easy! But when one of my best friends was in a crippling depression, I felt so helpless. Nothing I did or said could help her. One day she finally let me in her house to clean up and it was such a gift - to me. I left her knowing she was in a safe and comfortable environment and I had helped her, in a small way. Letting people help you is really a gift to them. I hope this is over for you very soon, sending you lots of good vibes and strength.

It is hard no matter how old you are if trying to clean a house where you are the only one cleaning. It’s wonderful you are trying your best, it’s all any of us can do and something to be proud of. Whether or not your family is in a mental place where they can appreciate it, sometimes our work is appreciated, sometimes it goes unnoticed but we just keep helping where we can. If we all did this, what a wonderful world we would have.

So nice to hear you get inspired to clean already! :) But you should not be the only one cleaning. Have you tried talking to your parents, and told you how the mess affect you? That you would like to be able to have friends over for example. Maybe suggest to tackle one room at a time together? (just start with the least messy room, and then keep that room clean). They might be inspired enough to continue after that. Sometimes, adults need that little push of motivation too, and maybe seeing one room clean could give them that? :)

Oh sweetie. I was there when I was that age, I cooked and cleaned for my family, because my parents both worked multiple jobs. It’s okay to remember that you are just a kid and all that responsibility doesn’t have to fall on you. It’s nice to want a good clean home and have good habits, but remember that when you get older you can control your environment to be the way you want it to be, instead of constantly fighting with your elders about how they should be cleaning. Don’t put too much pressure on yourself and as long as you’re not in danger, let the clutter go, it’s not your mess to clean. Clean your space and your mess, but don’t feel like you need to clean everyone else’s too. They’re grown adults and can do it for themselves.

In South Africa we don't have a drain in the floor either but it's because we build a separate shower cubicle with glass doors, the drain is specifically for the shower and is built into the carbon fibre shower floor... If you notice this shower is just open plan with water falling on the floor directly so they need a drain. I have used dish soap in the bathroom because it really works well on tiles and the bath tub but I always add disinfectant or bleach. You don't need to use a lot so it's really not that soapy. You can use a little and it's still effective but doesn't create so much foam and it can easily be mopped up with a normal mop and bucket.

I live in a suburb built in 1970. All 300 houses are brick and 3 BR 2 BA, with a 2 car garage. In 50 years, everyone has modified everything. Some houses converted the WHOLE garage to living space, some converted HALF of the garage. EVERYONE has remodeled everything.
I can't find stove hoods that are identical to a neighbor's stove hood for 3,000 miles, but all your videos show the same one.

I'm so glad you turned in the cans. I've seen cleaning/ hoarding videos where the cleaners just throw them all out and it always bothers me especially because a lot of times the person with the dirty house could really really use the money and cans are usually piled together and easy to bag! Unfortunately where I live there isn't much recycling options but we always have kept cans since I was young.

Hello. I just want to say that if I were your neighbour, I might be surprised by the amount of trash but I won't shame you. Trash should be place outside so that your place would be better.
I understand that my words propbably won't mean much bc I'm not actually your neighbour. I have adhd tendency (I'm not diagnosed so I can't actually say I have but my behaviour do resemble adhd). I know the pain of when letting myself go uncheck for quite some time. There's a lot of pile of trash and a mess. If throwing the trash makes me better, I will do it. And if the people shame me for it, I know that they are not able to symphatize with what I experience and it's okay. I'm doing it for my own good.

I use to think “who can get excited and happy about cleaning?!”. I use to reluctantly clean my house, hated every minute of it. But loved when I was done and everything was clean and smelled great. One day I got up to go help my mom with her house(she is disabled and can’t walk good). I really paid attention to what I was doing and I actually loved it! I loved gathering up things and going through stuff she wanted to get rid of. Climbing on the ladder to clean the walls and top cabinets was fun! I had always hated cleaning appliances, but found myself enjoying it. I clean my house everyday and do a real deep cleaning once a month. I go to my moms anytime she needs my help with deep cleaning and I actually really love it now. When my son helps me, we make a game out of cleaning. And ty so much for all your cleaning tips!!! I love love love your vids! God bless you sweetie 💖💖💖

@@Wenixi like most adults, I started with helping clean house when I was 9. I was taught to clean my own room then as my sister and I got older we helped our mom clean the entire house. I never thought of it any other way then a chore that was getting in the way of being young and having fun as soon as I woke up. Now, we did go out and play when I was a kid. But we had to clean our rooms and make our beds. Idk if it has to do with my being older now and seeing that it isn’t a chore but can be a game I play with my kids (when they were younger) when they do want to help. My 3 older boys are adults now and my youngest is 6 yrs old. He loves to help me cook and clean because he doesn’t look at it as a chore but a game we play. And yes, my mother and I was laughing and joking that one morning I went to clean her house, we were telling “dad jokes”. But now I love to clean. It can get overwhelming sometimes, but when I get started, I enjoy it. I have MS, among other health problems, but I love it. We are gonna clean the attic this summer and we are about to start building our slide from the attic window to the yard (I have a 4 story house). So that will make it fun for my boys to help also.

It really is amazing how strongly depression can affect your ability to take care of yourself. It can literally feel like a weight is pressing on you, trapping you to your bed (for me it’s my couch). It makes your whole body ache. And the worse the state of your home gets the even harder it is. It’s easier to just disassociate and ignore it all. Therapy and anti depressants can be so helpful. But also having someone help when things get too overwhelming.

I just loved the gifts ...baskets and jars were so cute. I am so happy for the girl that she found the right person to help her who has all the kindness in the world to offer. Much love Auri ❤

You have made such a difference in this apartment. It just proves it doesn't take a bunch of different expensive chemicals to clean your house. Now she can be proud of her space. What a beautiful place for a young woman in need. Thank you for helping her❤️

It's so great to see this "average" house get clean! I hired a cleaner to come help me get caught up. It's such a weight off my schedule and fatigue to get back to a state that I can manage again. Always love your kind content Auri!

I just cleaned my trash can (and the rest of my kitchen) because your videos made it seem so easy even though I've been struggling after a rough few months. Now it's much easier to just do a little cleaning each day to keep it looking good. :) Thanks for the inspiration!

Hello Aurikatariina, I just wanted to say thank you. Your videos helped me to gain the motivation to clean my own place. Its not that bad, but because often I don't have the motivation to do anything, it gets a bit out of hand. But thanks to your Videos I learned, that cleaning can be fun, if you know how and that it isn't so bad. And you're tricks are so helpful! Thank you!
