Tangentenflugel in German. This was a transitional technology that was surpassed by Bartolomeo Cristofori in 1700. Levered hammer actions go back 700 years to the clavicimbalum.
If you decide to make a few more, I'll surely buy one :) Beautiful mix between a piano-like action and harpsichord-like sound. It seems to be perfect for lyrical Bach pieces that need a bit more expression. Does it have volume control on how hard you hit? Thanks
I use guitar strings, bronze 80/20, from different gauges. Because of the string tension vs string length. More pics from this project? See: www.cigarboxnation.com/photo/albums/claviporte
Repent and trust in Jesus. We deserve Hell for our sin. Lying, lusting, etc, but God sent his son Jesus to die on the cross and ride from the grave to free us from sin. If you repent and trust in him youll be saved. Romans 3:23 John 3:16❤❤❤😊
Nope, strings are not plucked, but 'hammered' by a tangent. Something in between a harpsichord an an early piano. Search for 'Pantaleon Hebenstreit' or 'tangentenflügel'.

The action looks more like the action of a harpsichord than a piano
@@luuktorn the strings are hit with wood blocks (i.e. hammers), not plucked mechanically, making it a hammered action (like a piano's)
Look for a Tangentpiano
Cooler than a piano!
That is so creative and inspiring! I love what you did! ^.^
I'm making a mini 8 note "piano" that I can fit in my backpack
Did you make it at the end?
Good job! I like it!
Did you ever finish it?

I'd like to see more of the construction. That would, at least, make it remotely interesting.
It's a harpsichord
in fact a piano but with tangent hammers or a tangent piano
Piano? it looks harpsichord, but interesting
this is a harpsichord to a piano

But it's not a piano. It's a clavichord, albeit one with a lot of strings.
