    I saw a comment about the large flap area. Actually the flaps appear to act like Fowler flaps. Those were large area flaps designed in the 1930's by people at Lockheed. They were designed to provide additional lift and stability at slow speeds. They also provided additional lift for short-field take-offs. I remember Fowler flaps on the Constellations and the Lockheed Electra. I was a passenger aboard both. I recall noticing the 757 flaps too. I was aboard among the first 757 aircraft flying. These were Eastern Airlines 757's. It's quite a memory.

    I remembered being aboard one of the first 757, with Eastern Airlines. who along with British Airways were the first to order the Boeing 757. The Eastern 757 I was on was only a month old.

    First video where I see flaps are lowered way before landing usually within 14 miles away. These are true pilots mountainous area not a piece of cake, air is thinner, I have done this and it's all about skills. Thank God for on board computers but still you must keep your eyes open even if you been here a bunch of times. Passengers should have applauded for skillful pilots in high terrain when landed. Loved video 👍.

      Well said my friend. The average passenger wouldn't know the difficulties that come with landing at high altitudes. Thanks for watching my friend!

    Interesting this pops up in my recommendations. I live 25 minutes east of Eagle in Edwards and flying out of EGE to DFW is so nice. Driving to Denver is a pain in the pass. Sometimes I fly into DIA to get back to EGE, which is a very quick flight.
    Awesome video.

      Thanks for watching my friend! I'd wanted to visit EGE for awhile. When I saw a cheap ticket I took it! It was a nice little airport, that looked to be in the middle stages of a new terminal construction. Or at least an addition. It'll be interesting to see what's changed when that is finished.

    I love 757s, unfortunatly here in Brazil we don't have this one anymore.

    • @sla31
      @sla31  5 років тому +1

      The 757 is a great aircraft that isn't matched by anything else. It's too bad you don't have them around Brazil anymore, but there are quite a few still flying in the US. Hopefully you'll get a chance to fly on one again before they're all gone. Thanks for watching!

    Boeing definitely retired the wrong fucking plane when they stopped making 757s and continued re-developing the hell out of the little 737!

  • @Enanram
    @Enanram 3 роки тому +1

    Looks like a lot of flaps for take off! Although, I've never been on a 757 and usually fly on a 737-800, so maybe it's normal for that plane.

      There's a lot of demand during the winter months. A lot of 757's can be seen at EGE during the skiing season. Thanks for watching!

    How do you fly so much? Do you go to these places for family reasons or to get in more youtube videos, i really wanna know more lol

    • @sla31
      @sla31  5 років тому +4

      That is a good question. I fly a lot for a couple of reasons. None of which have to do with my job. I get asked a lot if I work for one of the airlines, and I do not. I do work in the aviation industry, but nothing that allows me to fly for free. My job is also based in one location, so I don't travel for work. So, all of the flights you see here are paid for out of my own pocket. The first reason I fly so much is simple. I love to fly, and I love to travel. I love visiting new places, and since I love aviation, getting there is half the fun. I made a commitment to myself that I was going to travel as often as I could while I'm young and able. Occasionally the places I fly to are ultimately to visit friends and family, but most of the time that's not the case. The second, and really biggest, reason I fly so much is because of this channel. I made a commitment to all of my viewers/subscribers that I would release new content 7 days per week, 365 days per year. It takes a lot of travel to meet that commitment. Over the next 4 weeks I have 20 flights booked. Ultimately this channel has become a rather expensive hobby of mine, but I'm always glad to see how many people enjoy seeing the new content everyday. I do greatly appreciate everyone who takes the time to watch, like, and subscribe. With that being said, thank you very much for watching my friend! Hopefully that helps answer your question.

    Beautiful video, thanks for making it!! (first time viewer/subscriber) It's too bad the American Airlines flight attendant/announcer was as boring and dull as he could be, no expression at all, only reading his "script".

      Thanks my friend, and welcome to the channel! I'm happy to have you around. New videos are posted everyday at 4:00pm CST. As for the flight attendant. You're right. Unfortunately a bit boring on this flight. Oh well! You can't win them all right?

    They need to run that bird through a wash.

    • @sla31
      @sla31  5 років тому +1

      Yeah but that would require the plane to be taken out of service, and then it's not making money! That's what the airline is thinking. Thanks for watching my friend!
